Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

A large wave of Demon Soldiers rushed in, but there was no panic on Yang Yu’s face.

Beside him, He Meng spun in place, swinging her hands and stirring up a ring made of water, which scattered in all directions, sticking to one demon after another as they charged, knocking them to the ground.

”What’s this sticky, gooey stuff?”

A fallen Demon Soldier reached out to touch the slime, trying to scrape the viscous liquid off his body. However, the moment his fingers met the slime, blue smoke rose from them—the powerful acid of unknown composition instantly corroded his fingers, making him let out a scream of agony.

The scream shook quite a few demons’ will to attack, but a large number still stepped over the fallen Demon Soldiers and launched their assault on Yang Yu.

”This is a bit different from what I pictured...”

”Do I really have to beat a Demon Clan cadre head‑on in proper fashion before they’ll recognize my strength and back off?”

Yang Yu helplessly relaxed his shoulders. It seemed he’d also underestimated the Demon King Army’s execution. Unless a Demon Clan cadre personally gave the order, these Demon Soldiers would fight to the death.

What he needed to do hadn’t changed.

Before Yang Yu and his group arrived, the General here had already had a direct clash with the Demon Clan cadre. Now, the cadre’s Status wasn’t great. Yang Yu looked around but didn’t see any demon who could use Holy Light—only a group of Magicians using Healing Magic.

The only way the Demon Clan could recover was through Potions and those Magicians using Healing Magic.

If Yang Yu and his group hadn’t come, this battle would have already been decided; there’d be no need to waste more resources, so most of the cadres hadn’t done any self‑recovery.

This was a once‑in‑a‑lifetime chance to quickly deal with high‑end combat power; Yang Yu naturally wasn’t going to let it slip by.

”He Meng, I’ll leave things here to you for now. Make sure to coordinate with Bai Jin and keep her safe.”

He Meng pressed her palms together. A rippling ring of water spread from under her feet, spreading out around her. The once‑solid ground instantly turned into a mire, and the demons charging in fell one after another into the knee‑deep swamp, struggling to advance toward Yang Yu and the others.

One Demon Soldier tripped and sank into the mire, and the other Demon Soldiers simply used him as a stepping stone, continuing their assault toward Yang Yu and his team.

He Meng wanted to remind Yang Yu not to go too deep in, but before she could open her mouth, Yang Yu had already raised his Shield, calling out his Illusion Shield and turning into a red cannonball, blasting a path through the vast encirclement and disappearing far into the distance.

For a moment He Meng didn’t know what to say. The demons didn’t chase after Yang Yu, but instead took the opportunity to keep attacking He Meng.

A mass of Water Balls formed at her side. He Meng slammed her fists together, and the Water Balls around her turned one by one into solid fists that rushed at the charging Demon Soldiers, blasting all of them away.

He Meng’s Attack power was quite weak, but it was more than enough to deal with these Demon Soldiers whose Levels weren’t very high.

What He Meng hadn’t expected was that after she’d finally blasted away one group of Demon Soldiers, even more Demon Soldiers surged toward her, Skills and Attacks raining down on her one after another.

All the space He Meng could dodge into was completely locked down... What else could she do? Just take it all head‑on!

She turned on several Defense‑boosting Skills, tanked every Skill and every Attack by brute force, and then was surprised to find... these soldiers weren’t knocking off any Blood at all.

If He Meng could see the Blood Volume and damage numbers above her head like Yang Yu could, she’d be amazed to discover that most of the attacks hitting her were a string of red ”-0 HP,” and now and then ”-1 HP,” ”-2 HP” would pop up. The highest damage didn’t even exceed 50 HP, which for He Meng, whose Blood Volume had already passed a hundred thousand, was nothing but a drop in the bucket.

Once she realized this, He Meng’s grin grew more and more smug. She puffed out her chest proudly with a ”go ahead and hit me, if you can knock me down I’ll admit defeat” look on her face.

The surrounding Demon Soldiers weren’t idiots either. Seeing their Attacks do nothing, they switched strategies: if they couldn’t kill this little girl, they’d just tie her up and stash her somewhere!

Several large demons with acid‑resistant bodies stepped on their comrades’ backs and lunged at He Meng without hesitation.

He Meng wanted to dodge, but Magicians around her pinned her in place with Magic, making it hard to move. She could only watch as one big brute after another pounced on her and pinned her to the ground.

Fortunately, before He Meng was slammed into the ground, she had already turned back into her original Slime form.

Moving freely through narrow gaps was a Slime’s specialty.

He Meng easily found a gap and slipped out from under the pile of big men.

What He Meng didn’t expect was that after she finally escaped from one group of big guys, waiting for her was another group of ferocious, vicious brutes.

He Meng really wanted to tell this rough bunch, ”Listen, I’m a girl, okay? Be gentle.”

But before she could say anything, all the big guys waiting outside lunged at her, scaring He Meng into darting around like a little cat, dodging in all directions.

It was the first time these demons had seen such an agile Slime, completely Refreshing their idea of what this kind of creature could do.

They’d thought they could take He Meng down quickly, but instead she ran circles around them. The Demon Soldiers gradually got all tangled up in a mess and bunched together in one spot, which just happened to give Bai Jin the perfect chance to wipe them out in one go.

She swung her Magic Wand, and three cyan‑blue Arrays unfolded side by side in front of her. Bolts of leaping lightning surged out like a fierce flood, blasting every demon along their path and triggering explosion after explosion.

Bai Jin had extremely high‑damage area‑of‑effect output and had been tasked with clearing out the hordes of small fry and wiping out as much of the Demon King Army as possible.

Because of that role, Bai Jin was very likely to be targeted by other Demon Clan cadres. But she was on the flank of the Demon King Army, and the main cadres had already been dealt with by Yang Yu. The cadres farther away would need quite a long time to get here, giving Bai Jin plenty of time and space to cast large‑scale Magic and clear the field.

With explosions booming in the distance, a demon with a ferocious green face and fangs—looking exactly like the Green-skinned Orcs from a certain ”Mountain Pass” game—let out a roar, swinging his massive Battle Axe down at the mustached General Luo Ze in front of him.

General Luo Ze swung his own Sword Blade, colliding with the Green-skinned Orc’s giant Battle Axe with a crisp clang.

No one dared approach the two of them. Every soldier feared being dragged into this fight—this was a clash between top‑tier Powerful fighters, and a single misstep could cost you your life.

”It’s been noisy as hell over there since just now. Just surrender quietly, and I’ll at least let you die with a bit of dignity!”

The Green-skinned Orc hefted his axe. Red light coiled around the massive blade as he brought it down heavily on the mustached General of the Luo Ze Empire.

The man’s body left a trail of afterimages as he slipped past the Green-skinned Orc’s strike and slammed his Sword Blade at the orc’s arm from the side.

”That might be our reinforcements arriving.”

A steel‑like sheen flashed over the Green-skinned Orc’s body as he knocked aside the man’s Sword Blade, sneering as he spoke:

”Reinforcements?

At this point you still believe you’re getting something like that?

Almost everywhere around you has already fallen. Only you lot are still stuck here like a nail!

My goal is to pull out this nail!”
