Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

The red carpet stretched forward, the palace resplendent in gold, with the King of Setis, King Aite Setis, seated on the luxurious throne, listening to Duke Rotis Marling’s report.

Yang Yu and his group stood beneath the throne, looking up to the King of Setis.

As they had learned before, the King of Setis was quite ordinary, with no special abilities, and unremarkable attributes.

Their ancestors relied on strategy and wisdom to gain the support of most people, leading to the establishment of Setis.

”I understand the situation,” King Aite said after hearing Duke Rotis Marling’s report, furrowing his brow and sighing deeply, ”It’s indeed the descent of the Demon Clan.”

King Aite Setis cast his gaze toward Yang Yu and his group, ”To repel the Demon Clan, your strength is extraordinary.

Opposing the Demon Clan is a matter for the entire world... I sincerely thank you for all you’ve done.

I summoned you not for anything else.

Your capabilities make it a waste for you to remain mere adventurers.

The Demon Clan has descended, and we need a large number of people over here.

If you could stay, we would offer you generous rewards.”

As Yang Yu expected, the King of Setis immediately extended an olive branch to them upon meeting.

Yang Yu was decisive and didn’t bother to ask what kind of compensation the King of Setis could offer, directly refusing:

”I appreciate Your Majesty’s kindness.

But I still prefer a relatively free life; this is the reason I became an adventurer.

I also have my homeland.

The reason I choose to fight against the Demon Clan is to prevent the flames of war from spreading to my homeland.

Setis is very close to my homeland, and to prevent the war from engulfing it, I will do my utmost to help Setis if it becomes unsustainable.

The same goes for other countries.

The Demon Clan aims to completely conquer this world, and any actions solely for self-preservation will only embolden them, making them even more rampant.

If a country completely falls, it will only boost their morale.

So...

I still enjoy this sense of freedom.

When traveling to other countries, there’s no need to seek anyone’s opinion.

Sometimes the cumbersome approval process can slow progress, and upon returning, you might even be labeled as disloyal.”

After hearing Yang Yu’s words, King Aite Setis pondered for a long time before responding:

”If that’s the case.

I won’t force you.

Overt pressure will only make us lose a potential ally.

In times of crisis, those who can take the initiative to stand up, I believe in your character.”

Despite saying this, King Aite Setis lost interest in Yang Yu and his group.

After contemplating for a moment, Yang Yu still expressed his own needs:

”Your Majesty, to be able to stay informed about the situation in Setis and facilitate the construction of a communication network between us?

While our strength may not change the outcome of the war, it will not be insignificant.”

King Aite Setis responded blandly, ”It can be done.”

Seizing the opportunity, Yang Yu continued, ”Your Majesty, I have one more impudent request...”

”What is this impudent request?” King Aite Setis inquired patiently.

Though unaware of Yang Yu’s request, since Yang Yu initially displayed a modest attitude and showed no clear refusal, as long as it wasn’t an extremely excessive request, the King of Setis was quite willing to help Yang Yu fulfill it, to owe him a favor.

Yang Yu smiled slightly, ”My hometown is in the Trun Republic, and I hope to use Setis Kingdom’s intelligence network to establish contact with the high-level members of the Trun Republic for information about my hometown.”

This request immediately met with opposition from many ministers: ”That is an important communication channel for us, and since you are unwilling to serve Setis, you should find a way to resolve this issue yourself.

We have no obligation to let such a matter occupy the communication channel, adding to our workload without cause.”

King Aite Setis did not rush to a conclusion, looking toward Duke Rotis Marling not far away, asking:

”Duke Marling, what do you think?”

Duke Rotis Marling had investigated and knew that Yang Yu and his group had faced formidable enemies before.

Moreover...

Duke Rotis Marling could actually only be considered a collateral of the Marling bloodline; his sister married Fuer Marling’s father, and Fuer Marling’s great-grandfather and father voluntarily relinquished their titles, allowing him the chance to inherit the title.

He was able to achieve what he had today thanks to Fuer Marling’s father and great-grandfather.

Therefore, he was exceptionally attentive to Fuer Marling, always wanting to do something for him.

It wasn’t for the title but as an uncle.

The reason Duke Rotis Marling went through the trouble of personally rushing to the All Things Library to tell Fuer Marling about Heroic Warrior Volcrix’s arrival and the prophecy of the Village of Heroes was out of concern for Fuer Marling.

Such a Duke Rotis Marling naturally knew about Fuer Marling’s recent situation; Fuer Marling seemed to have been inspired by someone in the past couple of years, devoting himself entirely to developing something.

Although Fuer didn’t say who inspired him to develop that thing, Duke Rotis Marling’s intuition told him that Yang Yu was the one who inspired Fuer.

Duke Rotis Marling was naturally inclined toward Yang Yu:

”Nostalgia is a common sentiment for everyone.

Considering the future, facilitating a connection between the two parties is no bad thing.

If an agreement is reached, the other side will establish contact with him independently.

We need not worry excessively that their communication will occupy our channels.”

King Aite Setis thought about it and saw no problem, so he quickly established contact with the Trun Republic.

On the other side of the Crystal Ball, a grim-faced member of the Trun Republic appeared.

”Your Majesty, the King of Setis, what urgent matter do you have to contact us now?”

”For the time being, there is no urgent matter. There is just the leader of an S-Class adventure group here who wants to talk with you.”

King Aite Setis instructed the Court Mage to project the image into the air, allowing the member to see Yang Yu and his group beneath the throne.

Upon seeing Yang Yu, the member was initially surprised and then delighted, quickly disappearing from the Crystal Ball’s view only to return promptly.

He brought back a slightly younger squinting man to the Crystal Ball.

The squinting man cleared his throat lightly, sat beside the Crystal Ball with a full smile, and said, ”Long time no see, Lord Yang Yu.

We were considering contacting you. And here you are.

Actually, some complicated situations have arisen on our end, and we may need your help...

But first, let me ask what urgent matter prompted you to contact us suddenly?”

”Commander Forget Me, long time no see. I really didn’t expect you to become the President of the Council,” Yang Yu greeted calmly.

Forget Me Yidru slightly opened his eyes, saying helplessly, ”Just like you, with all sorts of situations...

I’m no longer the commander.

The commander position of the Corps Collection Coffin has been handed over to someone more reliable.”
