Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Yang Yu was quite aware of Duke Doro Krenge’s weaknesses.

Characters like Duke Doro Krenge are frequent in many games; predicting his thoughts wasn’t difficult.

Knowing his weakness and his thoughts, the rest is just step by step, bringing him into my rhythm.

Facing Yang Yu’s urging, Duke Doro Krenge furrowed his brows as expected.

Even though Duke Doro Krenge said that he didn’t know what Sena looks like, his gaze still inadvertently glanced at Sena, attempting to read something from her behavior.

However, Sena seemed to be sulking, completely lowering the parasol so Duke Doro Krenge couldn’t see her face.

But...

Sena’s gaze inadvertently glanced at the twin sisters hiding in the shadows, and she finally couldn’t help but say:

”Yang Yu, this isn’t quite what was agreed upon.”

”Of course, I know this isn’t quite what was agreed upon.

It’s just Duke’s attitude that makes me dissatisfied, I changed my mind temporarily.

After all, this is your family’s matter, I just want to get what I want.

Initially, the agreement was to form an alliance with you, so we could support each other in times of change.

There are plenty of places that need me.

There are plenty of people willing to cooperate with me.

Since I’m not welcomed, it doesn’t matter if I change places.

I particularly want that Skill, but it’s not absolutely necessary.

Although it’s cruel...

Forget it...

Don’t mind what I just wanted to say.

”

Yang Yu sat upright, knocked on the conference table in front of him, and called out to the dazed Duke Doro Krenge,

”Duke Doro Krenge, haven’t you made up your mind yet?

1.3 times.

This is my final concession.

If we reach an agreement, you give me the item. If not, I won’t keep bothering you.

Our time is limited.

I’ll give you five minutes to decide.

After five minutes, we’ll assume our talks have collapsed, and there’s nothing more to discuss.”

Yang Yu’s attitude remained strong; Duke Doro Krenge’s mouth curled into a sneer, his gaze towards Yang Yu filled with more hostility.

He was, after all, a duke of the Sethis Kingdom, and the mere adventurer before him refused to show him respect; how could he swallow this insult?

Just as Duke Doro Krenge was about to refuse in a fit of pique, Sena sighed, closed the parasol, revealing a face as delicate as a doll:

”From before, you have been this way, Father.

I’ve always wondered, whether having someone like Father as the Family Head truly leads the family to prosperity or merely sets enemies against them everywhere.”

Hearing Sena’s words, Duke Doro Krenge finally couldn’t suppress his emotions; he pulled out a demon attack report from behind and threw it onto the table, his words filled with unspeakable anger:

”You judge me like that? And what about you?

Look at these items! These are just a portion of the demon chaos report.

Now do you still want to say ’I want to become a Monster Tamer, to create a world of mutual understanding between humans and demons’?

Demons are demons, humans are humans.

You chose demons over the family; now, what right do you have to return!”

Sena sighed again; now she finally had the confidence to say what she never dared to before:

”During my travels, I’ve seen various demons.

I know among demons, there are those who harm humans. But just like among people, there are both good and bad, and demons are the same.

Through careful communication, there are demons who can become friends.

My dream is to establish a world where humans and demons coexist harmoniously.

In this world, there are good people and bad people, but it doesn’t prevent some from having the dream to create a utopia where everyone can be happy.

I never made a choice between the family and the demons. Rather, I chose between reality and ideals.

And the one who forced me to choose, isn’t it you, Father?

It was Father who always wanted me to choose reality; ultimately, I chose the ideal.

Father, let me ask you a question: can’t reality and ideals coexist?

Must we always compromise with reality, not holding onto any ideals?

If one day, our family is exiled, must we accept a reality where we can never rise again, and eke out an existence in this world?

If merely holding onto some ideal is original sin, how many people would then go to Hell?”

Duke Doro Krenge lowered his head, not knowing how to answer the question.

Once, Duke Doro Krenge had ideals and ambitions to further revitalise the family, but after assuming the duke title, he found his own abilities mediocre.

So, when Sena was born, Duke Doro Krenge transferred some of his expectations onto her, hoping to nurture a successor more excellent than himself and, indirectly, watching her revive the family, thus equaling his own revival.

Therefore, since Sena was young, Duke Doro Krenge had been steadily investing various resources...

However, Sena had her own ideals and chose to leave the Bird Cage that imprisoned her.

Duke Doro Krenge naïvely thought Sena would soon come back crying, but she did not... not even a letter arrived.

”I used to sincerely believe that Father could lead the family to prosperity.

But now... I see a situation I least wanted to happen.

In the future... it will definitely be...

’Duke Doro Krenge’s and another duke’s territory were simultaneously attacked; whom should we support first?’

’Certainly another duke. Duke Doro Krenge? I don’t want to rescue such a person; if we do, it would only be after rescuing the other duke and seeing if we have the strength left to help.’

Finally... leading the family like a lone boat on the vast sea.”

Sena’s voice continued, but Duke Doro Krenge didn’t find it grating.

Sena had said enough; Duke Doro Krenge had to stop and self-reflect.

Gradually, Duke Doro Krenge began to consider how he could lower his pride and listen to the reason that brought Sena back from afar.

Suddenly, Duke Doro Krenge leaned his slightly corpulent body down, gathering all the reports on the table into a ball and casually tossing them behind.

The scene fell silent due to his action.

After much pondering, Duke Doro Krenge didn’t know how to start.

Seeing Yang Yu silently counting down, Duke Doro Krenge finally spoke with reluctance:

”I understand.

... I was wrong earlier.

There’s absolutely no need for any transaction; consider it a free gift to you.

Thank you truly for the contribution you’ve made to the whole city.

With Red Blood Rose’s guarantee, there’s nothing more to say.

Just please, after accepting the item, don’t mind some of my recent indiscretions.

If you’re still angry, I can also offer you some small gifts.

Sena, let’s not talk about the past for now.

It’s rare for you to come back once and even bring guests, so let’s have dinner here tonight.”
