Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

”Indeed, holding dual roles is difficult.”

Yang Yu echoed, without pressing Wang Wu Yidru about who now holds the position of head of the ”Corpse Collection Coffin” Group.

”I was actually just checking in, seeing if we can establish contact, to facilitate gathering some information.

There will be plenty to do next.”

”Certainly, there will be much to do.” Wang Wu Yidru glanced around, ”We have emissaries in the Setis Kingdom as well.

They were dispatched during the campaign against the Curse Sect.

To facilitate persuading Setis to dispatch troops, they are still stationed within Setis territory.

The matters we need to discuss are rather lengthy, not suitable for the court in Setis.

Once your audience is over, I will have the emissary contact you.”

”No problem. I understand.”

”Then let’s reconnect later, I’ll go organize the materials.”

After greeting Yang Yu, Wang Wu Yidru ended the contact.

There was a moment of silence on the scene, why does Yang Yu seem to be highly valued by the Turan Republic?

The newly appointed Council President of the Turan Republic also appears to be a head of an S-Class adventure group; being familiar with another S-Class adventure group seems unsurprising.

The high regard for Yang Yu might just be an illusion.....

Setis’ officials continually speculated on Yang Yu’s background.

Yang Yu expressed his gratitude to Aite Setis: ”Your respected Majesty, I sincerely thank you.

I have other matters to request...

Your Majesty may not be aware of my team’s composition. My team includes two Subhumans who are concerned about their homeland and have people they care about there...

... I wonder if the Setis Kingdom has any contact with the Wansheng Republic.

If there is contact, could Your Majesty help us to connect with the Wansheng Republic?”

As Yang Yu finished his words, several ministers chastised:

”Enough! His Majesty the King has already been generous by allowing you to use the special contact device. Don’t be so shameless!”

Aite Setis raised his hand, gesturing for silence, and glanced at Rotis Marling.

Rotis Marling nodded to Aite Setis, confirming Yang Yu’s words were true.

After some careful thought, Aite Setis instructed the court mage to establish contact with the Wansheng Republic’s leadership.

Soon, a blonde elf with half her eye covered by her bangs appeared on the Crystal Ball; she was Dorena, one of Ming Dalak’s secretaries.

Aite Setis used the same explanation to inform Dorena of the reason for contacting her and once again projected the image into mid-air, allowing Dorena to see Yang Yu and his party.

Dorena bowed deeply to Yang Yu and spoke:

”Sir, it’s been a long time.

For what you wish to discuss, I don’t have the authority.

The Governor has instructed that if you arrive or send contact, notify him immediately.

Please wait a moment.”

The image shook, and a few seconds later, Ming Dalak, Wanzhang Lion, and Qian Xialan appeared on screen.

Yang Yu’s lips slightly curled in genuine happiness for this rare scene.

It seemed Ming Dalak had handled the internal issues of the Wansheng Republic well.

Yang Yu did once consider eliminating Ming Dalak for a definitive solution, but after hearing Ming Dalak’s explanations, he chose a more peaceful resolution.

Ming Dalak’s abilities are exceptionally outstanding, and Yang Yu could hardly imagine how the Wansheng Republic would function without him.

It would certainly descend into chaos, wouldn’t it?

And a chaotic Wansheng Republic would inevitably become the easiest target for the Demon Clan to conquer.

Yang Yu briefly greeted Ming Dalak:

”It’s been a long time, Governor.

Do you remember me?”

How could Ming Dalak possibly forget Yang Yu?

Yang Yu being Potato Thorn is well-known among the high rankings of the Luo Ze Empire and Wansheng Republic, though the uninvolved Setis seemed unaware.

He seemed unwilling to stir unnecessary trouble, hence appearing with such a low profile.

After a moment of thought, Ming Dalak spoke plainly:

”Of course I remember.

Your strength is acknowledged; coincidentally, manpower is somewhat short here.

We thought of you.

The S-Class adventure group ’Dark Charm’, with whom we have certain ties, happens to be in Setis.

Using Setis’ public resources incurs some debt of favor.

Please stay for a while in Setis’ royal capital; they should soon arrive where you are.

You’ll recognize them by their rare black-haired elf in their adventure group.”

Wanzhang Lion noticed Ming Dalak conversing with Yang Yu, and enthusiastically waved to Yang Yu but didn’t interrupt.

Some things are better thanked in person.

Wanzhang Lion looked forward to meeting Yang Yu again.

Yang Yu nodded, ”I happen to also want to acquaint myself with ’Dark Charm’, it’s a great help.

I will remain here until I reestablish contact.

If you encounter any issues that can’t be resolved, please gather the appropriate intelligence and hand it over to me.”

”We’re very willing to, leveraging your strength,” Ming Dalak smiled before ending the contact.

Not merely with the Turan Republic, but even the high ranks of the Wansheng Republic are intersecting?

Setis’ officials whispered.

Perhaps pressured by the Setis King’s presence, the palace soon returned to tranquility.

Yang Yu seemed ordinary, but he may be quite extraordinary. It’s necessary to investigate their background to avoid sudden offense.

It should be stated, they’re not afraid of Yang Yu, but of the other high-ranking officials from various nations he associates with.

Sensing the odd atmosphere, Aite Setis inquired: ”Did you help the Wansheng Republic?”

Yang Yu casually deflected: ”It wasn’t anything major.

Just assisted them in handling a few issues they found difficult to manage.

A long time ago.

Having them still remember me is truly fortunate.”

Aite Setis felt it was far from simple.

But seeing Yang Yu’s demeanor, probing further likely would yield no concrete answers, so Aite Setis chose not to inquire.

An individual with immense strength is certainly worth enlisting, but the Setis Kingdom’s foundation isn’t yet at the point of retaining powerful figures at all costs.

Aite Setis slowly spoke: ”Do you have any more requests?”

”No more. Thank you, Your Majesty.” Yang Yu bowed to Aite Setis.

There’s still the Luo Ze Empire lacking contact.

The Luo Ze Empire and Wansheng Republic are now in an alliance, soon, when those from ’Dark Charm’ arrive, reestablishing contact with Ming Dalak should quickly lead to establishing contact with the Luo Ze Empire without incurring further debt of favor.

”Very well. You may leave now. Thank you for coming.”

Aite Setis gestured for Yang Yu and his group to depart.

Yang Yu and his party did not linger, turning to leave immediately.

After Yang Yu and his group departed, the mage operating the Crystal Ball was about to shut down the interface when an urgent message arrived from the distant Luo Ze Empire.

A handsome man appeared center screen, neither greeting the Setis King nor wasting time, he spoke directly:

”Aite Setis King, urgent situation!”
