Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Aite Serti received a message from the new Emperor of the Luo Ze Empire, Klaroci Qimia Roz.

Klaroci Qimia Roz explained the current situation to Aite Serti clearly: the demon army had already landed on the eastern side of the Luo Ze Empire and within less than a day captured countless fortresses. According to the most optimistic estimate, at least one-fifth of the Luo Ze Empire’s territory had fallen into the hands of the demon clan.

The Luo Ze Empire is vast, with the main population concentrated on the west side and sparsely populated in the east.

In order to prevent the battle from affecting the densely populated western side, for more than a year, the Luo Ze Empire had poured resources into the east side, using technology decoded from ruins to arm the fortresses.

However, the demon clan advanced like a hot knife through butter, capturing numerous fortresses in just one day.

Though it was hard to admit, the demon clan might have been better prepared than they had imagined, wanting to take over the entire world with lightning speed.

Klaroci Qimia Roz’s face was serious, ”Given the current speed of the demon clan’s attack, I’m afraid in a few days they will reach the junction of our two countries.

We cannot guarantee that they won’t cross the border and launch separate attacks on you and the Tren Republic.

The situation is quite urgent. I have gathered many of my strongest subordinates to gather intelligence on the enemy’s movements and try to intercept them.

We’ve asked the All Things Library for help; at this point, they can no longer remain neutral.

I don’t know the situation within the Serti Kingdom, but if you can spare any forces, please lend us a hand.

There is an important pass at our junction, and once the demon clan crosses it, you are better informed than I am about what might become of Serti!”

Klaroci Qimia Roz’s voice buzzed in his ears, and Aite Serti did not expect the demon clan to move so swiftly.

While sending Rotis Marling for investigation, Aite Serti also deployed other reconnaissance teams to search for teleportation arrays that the demon clan might have used.

There were no conclusions yet, and the result...

Aite Serti was worried; if they did not promptly send people to clear the hidden teleportation arrays in their country, who knew what heinous things the demon clan might do using the arrays.

”This sure is deadly. We’ve really underestimated the demon clan.

Is this the transformation every era must face?

If handled improperly, it could lead to the nation’s downfall.

I say, new emperor of the Luo Ze Empire, do you think if we exert all our strength...

Will our nation still exist?”

For some reason, Aite Serti suddenly laughed.

The Luo Ze Empire and the Wansheng Republic have been fighting for many years, and logically, with their rich combat experience, they shouldn’t lose so many fortresses so quickly...

Aite Serti knew he had mediocre talents, far inferior to the kings of the past, and also knew that due to some past incident, their military strength was quite limited.

Initially, Aite Serti thought of providing rich resources to other countries in exchange for their protection.

All of this was based on the premise that the power gap between humans and demons was not too large, allowing them to keep each other in check.

And now, even Aite Serti, a mediocre king, could see that this demon king’s invasion was extraordinary.

With everyone only caring for themselves, how could they possibly spare forces to protect him?

Faced with Aite Serti’s questioning, Klaroci Qimia Roz was silent for a moment and then replied:

”People are history.

If people remember our merits and appreciate our efforts.

The country will continue to exist.”

”The problem is, they can’t determine whether what we’ve done is truly all-out.

My ancestors...

Those who sat on the throne each had their own merits, some...

As a mediocre king, only when he ascended the throne did Aite Serti realize the citizens of this country were far more demanding than those of other countries.

As a child, Aite Serti didn’t understand why the past kings of Serti waged external wars. Not until he took the throne did he realize that no matter how excellent his ancestors were, they had to prove their excellence through accomplishments.

”Forget it, forget it...

I’ll listen to your opinion.

I’ll send forces to support you where appropriate.

But you also know the situation here.

Our soldiers in Serti are far from as abundant as imagined.

Even if we expand the army, there’s not much enthusiasm among the populace.

In recent years, to avoid panic, we haven’t expanded openly.

We also thought that if a hero could...

Oh right, there’s the hero.

When it comes to reversing the situation, it’s only the hero.

Just that...

Aite Serti looked somewhat troubled, and Klaroci Qimia Roz spoke:

”We don’t know where the hero is right now either, and we’d also like to get this information to him as soon as possible.

We are preparing to launch a search; you should quickly start searching for the hero too!

Defeating the demon king is the hero’s mission; as long as his portrait is posted in big cities, explaining the situation, the hero should soon show up on his own, and those who have seen the hero will provide clues.”

Klaroci Qimia Roz still couldn’t see through Aite Serti’s true inner thoughts.

Aite Serti instinctively responded, ”I understand. I’ll do it. Is there anything else?”

Klaroci Qimia Roz pretended to think for a moment, called for the minister to bring out a portrait:

”Since we’re looking for someone, one more is just the same.

We happen to be looking for a person as well, who should be within your territory...

If you can find him, please contact us promptly.”

The minister of the Luo Ze Empire opened the portrait, and Aite Serti, along with the ministers around him, widened their eyes. The person in the picture was Yang Yu, who had just been here not long ago!

Smoothing his face, Aite Serti spoke, ”This person came to see me not long ago.

I want to ask why you are looking for him. If he’s a fugitive from your side, I’ll arrest him at once!”

Klaroci Qimia Roz chuckled bitterly, ”He’s not only not a fugitive; on the contrary, he is our benefactor.

The fact that I managed to sit on this throne smoothly, if not a hundred percent due to his merit, at least seventy percent of it is.”

The surrounding ministers’ jaws almost dropped to the floor at these words.

Not only the Wansheng Republic and the Tren Republic, but even the Luo Ze Empire...

That young man who just appeared here, who on earth is he?

Aite Serti couldn’t help but take a deep breath, speaking seriously:

”Seventy percent, isn’t that an exaggeration?”

Klaroci Qimia Roz shook his head, ”Seventy percent is still a conservative estimate.

Without him, this country would still be in the abyss.

To solve the current crisis, he might be our best option at present.

To be honest...”

After that, Klaroci Qimia Roz candidly recounted the heroic deeds of Yang Yu.

The more the ministers of Serti listened, the wider their eyes opened, their eyeballs almost popping out.
