The Unveiling of Secret Queen

He picked it up casually.

Wincent Sullivan’s voice came through from the other end of the phone: ”Williansen, have you guys arrived yet?”

”We just got here.”

”Is Agnes with you?” Wincent Sullivan remembered to ask about Agnes.

Williansen glanced at Agnes, nodded, and then realized Wincent couldn’t see him, so he whispered, ”She’s with me.”

”Where are you?”

Williansen looked around and gave him a location.

They hadn’t been there for long when Wincent Sullivan came looking for them.

As soon as Agnes saw Wincent Sullivan, she immediately mentioned the people she had seen entering the hotel, clicking her tongue in awe: ”...I don’t know what a big day it is for Inderia today, so many people are coming to the Intercontinental Hotel.”

Wincent Sullivan looked at her in surprise, somewhat taken aback, and asked, ”You don’t know?”

Agnes looked puzzled: ”Know what?”

Did she miss something?

Seeing that she genuinely seemed unaware, Wincent Sullivan rubbed his temples and told her, ”They are all here to attend Nathalie Quinlan’s recognition banquet.”

Agnes: ”?”

She was completely stunned by Wincent Sullivan’s words.

Williansen was a bit better, managing to remain calm as he said to Wincent Sullivan, ”Nathalie told us it was just a casual meal. You just mentioned... a recognition banquet?”

”Yes.”

Wincent Sullivan had known them for three or four years, and the three of them had always had a good relationship. He didn’t hide anything from them, briefly explaining to Williansen and Agnes, then raised a hand to touch his nose and said somewhat helplessly, ”I guess even she doesn’t know that the banquet has become such a big event. She even invited my grandmother to have dinner together. My grandmother, she...”

There were some family matters that Wincent Sullivan couldn’t talk too much about, so he swallowed his words midway and said to the two of them, ”Let’s head in first. Otherwise, the more people come later, the harder it will be for us to greet them.”

They were always on the fringes at the research center, and even more so in Inderia—so much on the fringes that they couldn’t even touch the edges of Zevaney Kingsley’s circle, let alone get close to a banquet involving people like Nicholas Fuller and Frederick Upton.

Agnes was completely dumbfounded.

Walking felt like stepping on cotton, her steps were floating as she followed Wincent Sullivan into the hotel.

Several times she wanted to call Nathalie Quinlan to ask, but when she touched the edge of her phone, she withdrew her hand again.

Understanding a bit of Nathalie Quinlan’s personality, after a few months of interacting.

Nathalie Quinlan told her and Williansen it was just a casual meal, perhaps she really didn’t consider today’s lunch a big deal.

Villa.

”Ms. Quinlan, shall we get going?” Alfred Garland, having finished packing, saw Nathalie Quinlan coming downstairs and quickly put down what he was doing to ask her.

Nathalie Quinlan was still in casual attire, looking quite carefree and easygoing. When she came down from the second floor and saw Alfred, she responded with a sound.

Alfred immediately went out to get the car.

Sadam Vinson was playing a game. Hearing Nathalie Quinlan coming down, he exited the game, put his phone aside with a grin, and greeted the girl: ”Morning, Nathalie.”

”Morning.”

Nathalie Quinlan pulled out a chair to sit down, saw Amadeus Yancey also on his phone nearby, and turned her head to ask him, ”Today you...”

”Hmm?” The man looked back at her with noble laziness.

The words stuck at the tip of Nathalie Quinlan’s tongue were quietly swallowed back: ”Nothing.”

Amadeus Yancey was wearing a trench coat today, with a black turtleneck sweater underneath, the collar very high. On an ordinary person, this type of high-collar sweater would probably look terribly unflattering, but on him, it exuded a cool and noble aura.
