The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Davidson Family.

Mrs. Davidson received the invitation an hour ago and immediately called Leony Davidson back from the research institute.

”Mom, I’m back.”

Leony Davidson had just stepped through the hallway and hadn’t put her things down when she noticed the heavy atmosphere in the living room. She frowned and walked in, asking the person on the sofa, ”Mom, what’s going on? Why were you in such a hurry to call me back this afternoon?”

Mrs. Davidson’s face was grim, and she kept a stiff expression, saying nothing.

Leony Davidson furrowed her brows, turned her head slightly, and her peripheral vision caught the invitation on the table: ”What is this?”

She bent down to pick up the invitation, opened it to take a look, and her face suddenly changed!

The red and gold invitation clearly stated — Marcella Davidson was going to recognize a goddaughter and invite them to attend the recognition ceremony!

Leony Davidson’s breath became suddenly tight, and she looked at her parents in disbelief: ”Dad, Mom, what’s going on? Auntie...”

”Your auntie is going to hold a recognition ceremony.” Mrs. Davidson finally forced out the words, answering her.

Unable to accept, Leony Davidson gripped the invitation tightly and looked at her, ”Mom, didn’t you say earlier you wouldn’t let Auntie be deceived? This...”

It was better not to bring this up, as it caused the usually radiant Mrs. Davidson’s face to fall, rarely angry: ”Your auntie is very determined this time. Your dad and I went to see her, but we didn’t even get to meet her.”

As soon as they received the invitation, they went to find Marcella Davidson, but unfortunately, Marcella didn’t meet them at all. They ended up with nothing but disappointment and were kept waiting by the old butler for a whole half hour.

Finally, it was Kenzie Nabours who came out to meet them.

Kenzie Nabours spoke very frankly.

Before they had even stated their purpose, Kenzie directly told them that Marcella Davidson’s decision to recognize a goddaughter was set in stone and wouldn’t change for anyone who tried to intercede.

Mrs. Davidson and her husband were left feeling awkward and helpless, returning home and calling Leony Davidson back to discuss strategies.

”I don’t know what that person said to your aunt, but your aunt is resolute about making her the goddaughter. She’s not listening to anyone now! I had your grandmother call her, but her attitude remained the same — she has to recognize that person!”

Leony’s pretty face finally changed, turning slightly pale as she clenched her palm, asking: ”Has Auntie’s intended person’s identity been investigated?”

Mrs. Davidson reacted quickly, took a deep breath, and still maintained the dignity and composure expected of Mrs. Davidson with an assured manner: ”We found something.”

”?” Leony Davidson didn’t understand what she meant.

If it is investigated, it is investigated.

If not, then not.

What does finding ’something’ mean?

Mrs. Davidson seemed to see her thoughts, pressed her forehead with her hand, and said worriedly: ”Your aunt holds her secrets tightly and won’t reveal anything. We can only investigate ourselves. The other party has some capability, and after some time, all we found out was that the people in the estate called her... Ms. Quinlan.”

”Quinlan?” Leony Davidson’s heart skipped a beat, and a bad feeling emerged: ”Is that person’s last name Quinlan?”

She urgently pursued, ”Mom, you don’t know her full name?”

Mrs. Davidson showed difficulty in her expression and shook her head: ”No, I haven’t found out. Your dad and I have been investigating, and all we know is her last name is Quinlan. We still don’t know her age or where she came from, but we’re still having people look into it and will find something useful eventually.”
