The Unveiling of Secret Queen

His gaze didn’t even glance at Zevaney Kingsley, still fixated on the direction Nathalie Quinlan and Violetta Hoffman had left, his face sinking as he said unemotionally, ”Why did you ask her about dinner on Wednesday? Is Wednesday an important date?”

Zevaney Kingsley fiddled with the hair by her ear, pursing her lips as if she was in a dilemma: ”I... actually, Wednesday isn’t a special day.”

Nathan Garland looked at her.

Zevaney Kingsley took a deep breath, seemingly no longer hiding, as she met his eyes: ”I heard that Marcella Davidson has chosen her heir and wants to acknowledge that person as her Goddaughter. She chose this Wednesday to host a dinner at the Intercontinental Hotel to introduce her chosen heir to everyone.”

As soon as Nathan Garland heard Marcella Davidson’s name, his expression became unnatural.

Zevaney Kingsley noticed how much he cared about this news.

She added weight to the scales: ”... I’ve also heard that the dean will be attending.”

Nicholas Fuller is not someone just anyone can invite.

Back when Hansel Kingsley was still an elder of the Kingsleys Family, he once tried to invite Nicholas Fuller to dinner on her behalf, only to be directly refused.

This time, Nicholas Fuller had already confirmed to attend Marcella Davidson’s acknowledgment banquet.

Every major power in Inderia is watching Wednesday’s banquet.

”You said the dean is going?” Nathan Garland saw Zevaney Kingsley nod and his heart was in turmoil, frowning and relaxing multiple times: ”... Do you suspect the person Marcella Davidson is eyeing is the rookie who joined the research institute this year?”

He seemed disdainful to even mention Nathalie Quinlan’s name, using rookie to refer to her instead.

Zevaney Kingsley’s eyes flickered for a moment, and her lips subtly curved a little, although she controlled it well, making it hard to notice.

She nodded, very earnestly said: ”I heard the person Marcella Davidson wants to acknowledge is surnamed Qiao, so I suspect it’s her.”

She immediately clarified to Nathan Garland: ”But teacher, I’m just suspicious that it’s her, I don’t have any evidence.”

Nathan Garland understood why Zevaney Kingsley had intercepted Nathalie Quinlan and asked her where she was having dinner on Wednesday.

He looked grave, his emotions unreadable.

Even though Zevaney Kingsley was anxious inside, she knew it was not the right time to continue speaking, so she could only suppress her nervous heartbeat.

Nathan Garland lowered his head and pondered for a moment, then folded his hands behind his back, walking forward.

Zevaney Kingsley had to follow to catch up, just in time to hear him speaking softly to her.

”I will find out.”

Wednesday arrived in the blink of an eye.

Since that time Nicholas Fuller specially visited the level 8 laboratory to see her, Nathalie Quinlan’s days in the laboratory had been much better.

At least Leony Davidson and their group were more apprehensive, not targeting her as blatantly as before.

However, the minor troubles hadn’t ceased.

For example, every time she walked past the level 8 laboratory, Leony Davidson and her group would be gathered together, and whenever Nathalie Quinlan passed by, Leony Davidson would put on a sour expression as if someone owed her millions.

But Nathalie Quinlan didn’t care about these things.

As long as Leony Davidson didn’t cause trouble, it was fine for her.

Early on Wednesday morning, Kenzie Nabours called.

Nathalie Quinlan had taken a leave from Orson Saban in advance, intending to sleep in the morning, but was rudely awakened by the phone’s ringtone.

She got up from bed quite irritably, half-asleep as she groped for her phone, answering it: ”Hello, Uncle Nabours.”

The girl’s voice was obviously hoarse, and anyone could tell she hadn’t gotten out of bed yet.

Kenzie Nabours spoke somewhat embarrassedly: ”Nathalie, did I wake you up?”

”Hmm?”

Nathalie Quinlan’s brain was a bit foggy, not yet functioning properly.
