The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Amadeus Yancey smiled, restarted the car, turned the car around, and drove towards the city center: ”Then let’s eat at home, I’ll go to the grocery store to buy some ingredients.”

”Okay.”

Nathalie Quinlan responded, without any objections.

Amadeus Yancey drove the car steadily.

Nathalie Quinlan sat firmly in her seat, took out the old photo given to her by Marcella Davidson from her pocket, and looked at it attentively for a while.

In the photo, Marcella Davidson was still young and was next to Lynette Kingsley, indicating that she had a good relationship with Lynette Kingsley.

Nathalie Quinlan looked at it for a while, then put the old photo away, pursed her lips, and suddenly said: ”Mrs. Davidson wants to recognize me as her Goddaughter.”

Amadeus Yancey had noticed the old photo in her hand when she took it out and had seen the people in the photo.

He just didn’t interrupt the girl’s thoughts.

It wasn’t until Nathalie Quinlan brought it up to him that he spoke: ”What do you think?”

Nathalie Quinlan retracted her hand that was resting outside, her eyes were clear and striking, and she spoke softly: ”She probably knows about my background. She’s worried that I might act recklessly, so she thought of recognizing me as her Goddaughter, giving me an extra layer of protection.”

Actually, Marcella Davidson doesn’t have to do this.

Nathalie Quinlan was well aware of what she did and knew that the Kingsleys Family couldn’t do anything to her.

What she couldn’t refuse wasn’t Marcella Davidson’s ’protection’ but the goodwill of an elder who cared for her.

Amadeus Yancey understood her, so he didn’t speak and let Nathalie Quinlan make her own decision at this moment.

”I probably won’t refuse.”

Nathalie Quinlan actually had already made up her mind in her heart, she was just not used to this kind of overly binding feeling.

In the past, she had nothing behind her, seemingly more carefree and unrestrained.

Now, she had many people she needed to protect and care for, so although she was not as free as before, her heart seemed fuller.

It was not as empty.

Nathalie Quinlan frowned, then relaxed her brow, deciding not to think about it anymore: ”I’ll think about it for two more days.”

Amadeus Yancey responded with a hum, looked ahead, placed his hand on the steering wheel, and steadily drove to the grocery store to buy things.

Though Nathalie Quinlan said she would think about it for two days, Kenzie Nabours couldn’t wait and called her again in the meantime.

Although Kenzie Nabours didn’t mention the Goddaughter matter on the phone, it was clear he wanted to test her thoughts, to see what she had considered.

Nathalie Quinlan messaged Marcella Davidson the next evening and agreed.

Marcella Davidson was naturally ecstatic, her spirit greatly improved, and she completely ignored Mrs. Davidson and Leony Davidson, who had been visiting frequently in the past two days, and immediately began organizing the banquet.

Marcella Davidson wanting to recognize a Goddaughter was big news in Inderia.

However, considering Nathalie Quinlan’s quiet personality, generally disliking crowded occasions, she held back her excitement and chose not to organize it on a large scale.

After discussing with Kenzie Nabours, she decided to hold a small-scale banquet first, to announce the news.

Although Marcella Davidson intended to notify everyone in a small setting, her aim was also to inform everyone that she would be protecting Nathalie Quinlan and anyone who wanted to go against Nathalie Quinlan had to consider whether she agreed or not.

So she put a lot of thought into the invitations.

Not to mention, there were two drafts of the guest list.

All the important families in Inderia were on her list, followed by her connections at the research institute.

The important figures from the Kingsleys Family, Davidson Family, and Moore Family were all on the list.

Nicholas Fuller and Frederick Upton were also among the guests she invited.

This list of course couldn’t exclude members of the Davidson Family.

Mrs. Davidson and Leony Davidson were also invited.
