The Unveiling of Secret Queen

The Moore Family is one of the three great families of Inderia, and Kenzie Nabours has a wealthy background, so this is just a small matter for him.

However, this seemingly insignificant matter shows his concern for Nathalie Quinlan.

Indeed, he cares for Nathalie as one of his own.

”By the way.” Taking advantage of the moment when the old butler went out to arrange dinner, Kenzie asked about Nathalie’s recent situation at the research institute, then said, ”Nathalie, I called you here this time because there’s something I wanted to discuss with you.”

His gentle gaze fell on Marcella Davidson, and he said with a smile, ”Why don’t you say it?”

This was originally Marcella’s idea.

And Marcella was very insistent.

Kenzie gave this opportunity to his wife, letting her tell Nathalie.

Marcella was a bit embarrassed to speak at first, but seeing the girl’s face that resembled her friend’s, along with what she recently heard, she became a little dazed looking at Nathalie’s face. After quite a while, with Kenzie’s reminder.

Marcella finally regained her senses, took a deep breath, and gently said to the girl, ”Nathalie, I’d like to adopt you as my goddaughter, would you be willing?”

Nathalie never expected that the reason Kenzie specifically asked her to come was to discuss this matter.

She never thought in this direction.

Her instinct was to refuse.

Marcella spoke softly, saying, ”There are two regrets in my life; one is that I couldn’t bear a child for the person I love.”

Hearing this, Kenzie’s eyes grew hot, and he turned his head away, scolding, ”What nonsense are you saying? As long as you’re safe and sound, I’m satisfied.”

Marcella gave him a reproachful look, her earlobes slightly red, afraid he’d interrupt again. She took another deep breath and said to the girl, ”The second regret is not being able to protect my best friend in life.”

”She is the only person I’ve ever admired in my life. She was braver than me, stronger than me, more decisive... Unfortunately, she passed away young. I couldn’t even see her one last time, this is my second greatest regret in life.”

Nathalie listened quietly, almost knowing without asking whom Marcella was talking about.

”Nathalie, this decision was not made impulsively; I’ve considered it for a long time.”

Marcella’s eyebrows and eyes were as gentle and serene as a Jiangnan ink painting, showing no trace of a weapon manufacturing tycoon’s demeanor, tranquil as water.

She softly said, ”From the first moment I saw you, I felt an inexplicable closeness. So I’d like to adopt you as my goddaughter, would you be willing?”

Nathalie’s uproar at the Kingsleys Family had all the great powers in Inderia inquiring about her background.

Marcella’s elder sister, Yuni Davidson, married into the Kingsleys Family. Even though Yuni decided not to involve herself with the Kingsleys’ affairs, she had heard some inside stories.

Among which was the background of Nathalie.

Although Jaycent Kingsley never mentioned to Marcella that Nathalie was Lynette Kingsley’s daughter, Marcella had already confirmed this through her own connections.

At that time, she immediately wanted to meet Nathalie, but Kenzie persuaded her to calm down, saying she was too emotional.

Marcella had been unable to sleep for days, tossing and turning, and after discussing it with Kenzie, she came up with the idea of adopting Nathalie as her goddaughter.

Nathalie quietly listened to her talk, calmly waiting until Marcella finished speaking, before she moved slightly, adjusted her duckbill cap, and whispered, ”Mrs. Davidson, may I consider it for a while?”
