The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1338: Chapter 1338: Will Caryn Zachmann Lose Her Reputation?

Leonardy Zachmann had not yet spoken.

Hendrik Zachmann was stunned. After a brief daze, he immediately raised his handsome face, with brows tightly knitted, looking at the man in front of him who spoke nonchalantly of expulsion. He said in a deep voice, ”Mr. Yancey, my sister is graduating this year. Isn’t asking her to drop out at this time too severe?”

Amadeus Yancey touched the Buddhist beads with his white jade-like fingers. The round and smooth beads had a calming effect. His raven-black eyelashes were lowered, concealing the murderous aura in his eyes. His presence was cold and detached, yet he smirked slightly, seeming approachable, and asked him back, ”What do you suggest to resolve this matter?”

”Mateo Gordon hired someone to steal the USB flash drive. Caryn was unaware of it...”

Both Hendrik Zachmann and Leonardy Zachmann emphasized that Caryn Zachmann did not know in advance that Mateo Gordon would have Velnisa Irvin steal Nathalie Quinlan’s USB flash drive.

He furrowed his brows, the crease in his forehead deepening, and under immense pressure, continued, ”I will have Caryn apologize to Nathalie.”

Hendrik Zachmann paused again: ”...Regardless of whether Caryn knew about Mateo Gordon’s actions, Caryn definitely has shortcomings, and she should apologize to Nathalie. But, Mr. Yancey, asking Caryn to drop out is too severe. This matter is far from being that serious.”

Brian Bonette had been listening from the side, and upon hearing this, a hint of regret passed through his eyes.

The Zachmann father and son couldn’t possibly believe that Amadeus specifically came over to seek their opinion, could they? The more they defended Caryn Zachmann, the worse her outcome would be.

Brian Bonette, thinking of this, gently pushed the gold-rimmed glasses higher on his nose without making a sound to remind Hendrik Zachmann and the others. He simply stood quietly to one side, offering no opinion.

His relationship with Caryn Zachmann had always been good, but Nathalie Quinlan had helped The Ninth Institute through tough times and cured Master Cadmus’s insomnia.

He kept all these favors in his heart.

In both sentiment and reason, even if he couldn’t stand on Nathalie Quinlan’s side, he certainly wouldn’t mindlessly help Caryn Zachmann.

As he expected.

After Hendrik Zachmann finished speaking, the man’s lips curled in a relaxed and indifferent manner, his black eyes filled with reckless intent. He glanced at the agitated Hendrik Zachmann and asked in a lazy and dignified tone, ”... Do I look easy to talk to?”

Hendrik Zachmann was stiff all over, turned his neck, and his arrogance was instantly suppressed: ”I, I didn’t mean it that way, Mr. Yancey.”

Amadeus Yancey ignored whether he meant it that way or not, his eyes mixed with sharpness, speaking neither fast nor slow, giving a misleading impression of calmness and clarity.

”Mateo Gordon is going in for at least three years this time. The Girl who helped him steal will have a disciplinary record on her file, and it’s extremely unlikely any university will take her in this lifetime... On what basis do you think Caryn Zachmann can just apologize and consider it settled?”

”...” Hendrik Zachmann fell silent.

He didn’t just want to apologize and be done with it, but the other party’s demands were too harsh. Caryn Zachmann was only a year away from graduating college; dropping out now would be like slapping oneself in the face, and she wouldn’t be able to survive in this circle afterward.

He clenched his fist hanging by his side, raised his head, several times wanting to say ’Hasn’t Caryn always been on good terms with you, why are you so ruthless this time, determined to drive her to the ground?’

”I already gave you two choices, which is being lenient with her.” In Amadeus Yancey’s eyes, there was not a hint of emotion, only endless coldness. He said coldly, ”If it weren’t for her blood relation with Nathalie Quinlan, just based on what she did, I would have made her a hundred times worse now. At present, I’m only making her ruin her reputation, and if you keep bargaining with me, do you believe it or not, there’s a spot for her next to Mateo Gordon in prison?”
