The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1311: Chapter 1311: Only her name was missing from the list

”Hello.”

The Ninth Institute wasn’t a place she could act recklessly, Caryn Zachmann curbed her temper, appearing polite and courteous, though her tone was somewhat agitated.

”Could you please check if my name is on the list?”

”Is your name Caryn Zachmann?”

”Yes.” Caryn Zachmann’s appearance leaned towards the bright and beautiful, her features were well-defined, and she exuded an aura of a well-bred lady in every gesture, her poised demeanor easily endearing her to others, especially when she held back the arrogance in her eyes and brows, making it easier to gain the favor of strangers: ”I passed the initial screening for Master Cadmus’ laboratory and received a text message notification.”

She showed the text message on her phone to the other person.

The other person flipped through the assessment list in their hand, checking again.

From top to bottom, there were no characters for Caryn Zachmann on the list.

Finally, the person looked up, somewhat helplessly at her: ”I’m sorry, your name isn’t on this list.”

”How could that be?” Caryn Zachmann furrowed her brows, slightly anxious: ”Could you please check it for me again?”

The person saw her urgency and, unwilling to refuse, called to check again if there was a mistake with their list.

The result was still the same sentence.

”I checked for you, the list I have is the assessment list for this time, your name is not on it, so you cannot participate in Master Cadmus’ assessment, sorry.”

Caryn Zachmann almost couldn’t breathe.

Half an hour ago, she had confidently come to The Ninth Institute ready for the interview, only to be informed that her name was not on the assessment list.

She had even called her family and told Celine Tucker and Hendrik Zachmann.

While she herself was waiting for the news at The Ninth Institute.

As the assessment neared its end, if she didn’t go in now, she’d have no chance, unwilling to give up, she asked again, but the result was still the same.

Her name was not on the list!

But she clearly passed the initial screening, how could her name not be on the list!

The other person was just a small worker responsible for arranging the sequence of assessments, Caryn Zachmann knew continuing to ask would only waste time and wouldn’t be of any use.

She took a deep breath, her face ashen, walked out, found her phone, and pulled up Sadam Vinson’s phone number.

She hesitated for a second and dialed it.

She previously guessed it was Nathalie Quinlan playing tricks.

She had also told Celine Tucker and Hendrik Zachmann it was Nathalie Quinlan’s doing, but she wasn’t sure herself, still holding hope that the list from The Ninth Institute was wrong.

Now that the assessment was almost over, she could no longer hold back her temper.

She had to find out!

Sadam Vinson’s phone rang just once.

Caryn Zachmann took a deep breath, her heartbeat quickened, her lips slightly parted: ”Hello...”

On the other end, there was a busy signal: ”Sorry, the user you are trying to reach is busy, unable to take your call at the moment, please try again later.”

Caryn Zachmann was so angry her face turned green, her hands shook so much she nearly dropped the phone, she closed her eyes, suppressed the anger boiling in her eyes, and pulled up Brian Bonette’s phone number, decisively calling Brian Bonette.

”Beep.”

This time the phone rang a dozen times, just before it would automatically hang up, it finally connected.

Caryn Zachmann held her breath and immediately called out: ”Hello, Brother Brian, it’s me, Caryn Zachmann. Do you have a moment? I want to ask you something.”

”...”

On the other end, Brian Bonette was silent for a moment.

Just as Caryn Zachmann’s heart was pounding so hard it was about to break through her chest, Brian Bonette finally spoke to her: ”I know what you want to ask me.”

He knew?

Caryn Zachmann opened her mouth: ”The enrollment list for The Ninth Institute...”

”It was Mr. Yancey’s decision,” Brian Bonette said carefully: ”He called yesterday to tell me to remove your name.”
