The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1316: Chapter 1316: Still Want to Take Revenge on Nathalie

Caryn Zachmann didn’t pass the assessment and didn’t get into The Ninth Institute.

Mateo Gordon’s victory party had to wrap up quickly.

After the party ended.

Mateo didn’t go home; he drove to Tsinghua University. He parked his multi-million Bentley by the school gate, took out his phone, and made a call to Velnisa Irvin.

As soon as the call connected, he spoke in quite an unfriendly tone: ”Where are you? I’m at your school gate, hurry up and come out, I’m waiting for you.”

After speaking, he didn’t care if Velnisa could come out or not and directly hung up the phone.

Ten minutes later.

A girl with a clean and elegant demeanor, tall and slender, hurriedly walked out from the school. She saw his car and immediately quickened her pace towards his direction, as if afraid she’d anger him by being one step late.

”Mr. Gordon.”

Velnisa Irvin stood by the side of his car, panting, looking up with a delicate and fair face, softly calling out.

Her attitude was extremely ingratiating, yet Mateo changed his usual gentle and considerate demeanor to a cold glance, without opening the car door, rolling down the car window instead, keeping a stern face, and merely said: ”Didn’t I tell you I have something to discuss? Why did you take so long to come out?”

Velnisa couldn’t help but feel chilled but was even more worried about his misunderstanding, hurriedly exclaiming in a low voice: ”I was in class just now. It’s a course by our major’s teacher. He’s very strict; I had to lie about having a stomachache to sneak out.”

Winston Sullivan is extremely strict during professional courses and doesn’t like students to be inattentive or not serious in listening.

She’s also the key exemplary student of the Chinese Medicine department apart from Nathalie Quinlan, and Winston Sullivan holds her in high regard, sometimes even allowing her to sit in when Mr. Avalon lectures.

Velnisa didn’t want to skip class.

But Mateo called her, and his mood sounded not great over the phone. She feared her hard-earned boyfriend would get upset, so she hesitated for a moment, lied to Tiffany Olsen about a stomachache, and snuck out.

Actually, she still felt very uneasy inside.

After all, she hadn’t done something like lying to skip class before, but since she got involved with Mateo, she often arrived late and left early.

A few days ago, Winston Sullivan even called her to the office to ask if she was dating someone.

She felt quite embarrassed while denying it then.

If someone found out she lied to skip class just to meet her boyfriend, Velnisa couldn’t imagine what that scene would be like...

Velnisa did feel a pang of guilt for a moment, but when she saw the luxury car Mateo drove, that bit of unease was overshadowed by strong vanity and became less embarrassed, no longer afraid that classmates would see her with Mateo.

She shyly said: ”Why did you look for me? So urgent.”

”What kind of relationship do you have with Nathalie Quinlan?” Mateo didn’t beat around the bush, saying directly.

When she heard him mention Nathalie’s name, Velnisa’s demure demeanor faded away, her apricot eyes reflecting a rather indifferent expression: ”Why are you bringing her up?”

”Isn’t she participating in a competition? I heard she got into the finals. She’ll definitely need to prepare in advance for the finals; since you’re in the same department as her, why not steal the things she’ll use for the finals?” Mateo suggested lightly, as if it was just a small request.

Velnisa was shocked: ”You want me to steal something? Impossible.”

She didn’t even think about it before planning to refuse.

Tsinghua University immensely values this software competition, and Nathalie is representing the country in it. If she were to steal something and get caught, she’d be finished.
