Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 788: 788 Mu Wanku faces off against Mou Playboy

”Looking doesn’t cost a thing,” Mu Hanyan didn’t bother to explain further and took the lead toward the Chamber of Commerce.

”Aiya, isn’t this Young Master Mu? What wind has blown the distinguished young masters our way? Please, come in, come in,” the moment the shopkeeper saw Mu Zexian, a broad smile spread across his face as he welcomed them eagerly.

”Who might you be?” It came as a surprise to Mu Zexian that the shopkeeper recognized him.

”My name is Zhou Decai, sir. I previously served at the Jinghai Chamber of Commerce and had the honor of meeting Young Master Mu and several other young masters,” the shopkeeper said ingratiatingly.

Although Mu Zexian and the others were not much valued by the Zong Family, they were direct descendants after all, and most people wouldn’t dare to take them lightly.

Only now did Mu Hanyan realize that Nanyan Commerce hadn’t just foolishly ventured into the Capital to compete with those longstanding business houses but had actually made some preparations, starting by digging into the walls of others.

”So, you are Manager Zhou. This here is my elder brother, Mu Hanyan. Take a good look and remember him. If you ever dare to offend my Brother Han Yan, expect no courtesy from me,” Mu Zexian didn’t spend too much time pondering who this manager was. In the Capital, it was quite common for others to recognize him while he didn’t recognize them. So he introduced Mu Hanyan.

”So this distinguished gentleman is Eldest Young Master Mu Hanyan. I’ve heard much about you,” the smile never left Manager Zhou’s face, but his eyes betrayed a touch of bitterness.

He had long heard of the Big Playboy Mu’s notoriety. Just yesterday, upon returning to the Capital, Mu Hanyan smashed Ji Gaoxian’s shop sign, then beat up his own brother, and today, he supposedly slapped the Third Elder’s prized grandson of the Zong Family. His arrogance and impudence were indeed exasperating to hear about.

Manager Zhou’s head was already aching at the sight of small playboy Mu Zexian, and with the addition of Big Playboy Mu, he felt his heart pounding in apprehension: A whole group of playboys from the Mu, could they be here to smash our signboard? If they really intended to smash it, that would be troublesome. Little did Manager Zhou know that not only would Mu Hanyan not smash his shop’s signboard, but he would also prevent others from doing so.

”My Brother Han Yan wants to choose a sword to wear. Remember to bring out the best you have for us to see,” Mu Zexian said, nosing up into the air.

Manager Zhou glanced at Mu Zexian and then at Mu Hanyan, feeling a bit troubled: The Mu have deep roots, and Mu Hanyan is the Family Head’s grandson. Shouldn’t he be selecting swords at the Divine Sword Workshop? Could it be that they are actually here to smash our signboard?

Manager Zhou’s instinct was to refuse, but he feared provoking Mu Hanyan and the rest of the playboys. He was at a loss for words.

”Afford the best? Can you really pay for it?” Just then, a disdainful snort came from the side.

Mu Hanyan found the voice somewhat familiar, and turning his head, he saw a face he knew all too well.

Mo Yanhong, it had to be this guy.

The last time at Xiaocang City, Mu Hanyan had thoroughly taught Mo Yanhong a lesson, expecting him to seek revenge. But neither the Mu nor the Wu of Nanxi faced any trouble, which was puzzling to Mu Hanyan, and he did not believe the matter would end so easily.

He knew all too well what the playboys from prestigious families like Mo Yanhong were like: narrow-minded, conceited, and vengeful. Offending him definitely would not result in him letting things slide easily.

He just hadn’t expected to encounter Mo Yanhong so soon again. Indeed, enemies often cross paths.

”Mo Yanhong, what did you say!” Mu Zexian’s eyebrows raised sharply, glaring fiercely at Mo Yanhong.

”What’s the matter, Eldest Young Master Mu? Could it be that I spoke wrongly? I seem to recall a certain someone who, during an auction at the Yunzhong Chamber of Commerce, bid on items and then couldn’t pay, forcing their family to come and bail them out. Aren’t you ashamed?” Mo Yanhong said with a sneering tone.

”Mo Yanhong, don’t go too far.” Mu Zexian’s face turned crimson with anger, humiliation flashing across his expression.

”What, do you dare to lay a hand on me? Don’t think I’ll be afraid of you just because you have Mu Hanyan backing you up. This is the Capital, after all.” Mo Yanhong said coldly, glancing at Mu Hanyan with disdain.

Mu Hanyan also looked back at him coldly, initially thinking that the guy hadn’t noticed him, but now realizing that Mo Yanhong was targeting him intentionally.

Mu Hanyan eyed the two people behind Mo Yanhong. A middle-aged swordsman in guard attire exhibited the cultivation of a Great Swordsman. The other, an old man dressed simply, had a respectful demeanor but held a hint of arrogance in his gaze when looking toward Mu Hanyan and the others. With Mu Hanyan’s acute Six Senses, his cultivation wasn’t entirely clear, but it was surely above that of a Sword Master, likely being a Tributor from the Mo Family.

If it came to a fight, Mu Hanyan wasn’t afraid of him. However, with the Nanyan Commerce having just opened, if she made a move, would it not be damaging her own brand? Therefore, Mu Hanyan couldn’t be bothered with him.

”Young Master Mu, Young Master Mo, please, both of you, let’s not get heated. Come inside, please,” implored Manager Zhou hastily, as he saw the conflict between the two rising and set aside his concern about whether Mu Hanyan had come to ruin their reputation.

”Get lost, you ingrate,” cursed Mo Yanhong, lashing out with a kick toward Manager Zhou.

Manager Zhou indeed had some strength, but against the kick coming from Mo Yanhong, he dared not dodge.

Mu Hanyan reached out a hand and deflected Mo Yanhong’s kick. Manager Zhou was employed by the Nanyan Commerce, which made him one of her own, and Mu Hanyan couldn’t stand by and simply watch him get hurt by Mo Yanhong.

”Eldest Young Master Mo, it’s been days since we last met, and it seems your temper has only grown?” Mu Hanyan said to Mo Yanhong with a smile on her face, but her eyes were filled with a frosty chill.

”I’ve only heard about Big Playboy Mu, how you bully men and dominate women, committing all sorts of evil deeds. When did you start playing the good Samaritan?” Mo Yanhong, having suffered a great loss at the hands of Mu Hanyan before, harbored a significant fear in his heart. Although he had a Tributor from the Mo Family behind him, the coldness in Mu Hanyan’s eyes still made him shiver, and he dared not strike again, opting instead for a sarcastic retort.

”I have no intention of playing the good person. I just find you displeasing,” Mu Hanyan was not nearly as polite, speaking bluntly.

”You...” Mo Yanhong pointed at Mu Hanyan, his face filled with rage.

”What’s that ’you’? Displeased, are you? If you’re unhappy about it, there’s a Martial Arts Competition Platform in the city. How about we have a match?” Mu Hanyan looked at Mo Yanhong with scorn.

In the Holy Court Continent, the strong rule supreme, and each nation upholds its sovereignty with martial prowess. Hence, duels between swordsmen are not prohibited. However, brawling in the streets, especially in the Capital, is not permitted. Nevertheless, there are Martial Arts Competition Platforms within cities where swordsmen can settle disputes and prove their superiority.

Mu Hanyan suggested this, naturally not wanting to cause trouble in front of her own Chamber of Commerce.

”I have pressing matters today; I’ll settle accounts with you another time,” Mo Yanhong, lacking the courage to take Mu Hanyan on, glared fiercely at her before entering the Nanyan Commerce.

”Thank you, Young Master Mu, for your timely assistance. I’m sorry for the trouble,” said Manager Zhou, stepping forward to thank Mu Hanyan.

”Manager Zhou, were you with the Mo Family before?” Mu Hanyan inquired.
