Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 787: 787 is fine, having you by my side

Ye Lanfeng followed behind Mu Hanyan, his brows slightly furrowed, yet he remained silent. When that person appeared, Hanyan’s breath was disturbed. And now, Mu Hanyan was acting very strangely.

Huayue and the others also felt that their young master seemed a bit strange.

”Young Master, what’s wrong?” Zirong asked in confusion.

But Mu Hanyan did not answer; suddenly, as if bewitched, he dashed off in one direction and disappeared from view in the blink of an eye. Ye Lanfeng hurriedly chased after him. Zirong and the others, with puzzled faces, also followed closely behind. In an instant, the group had vanished. Leaving Mu Zexian and the rest looking at each other in bewilderment.

”What’s gotten into Brother Han Yan?”

”I don’t know. Let’s wait here for a while.”

At this time, Mu Hanyan quickened her pace and chased forward quickly. Her heart was beating very fast, her breathing was chaotic, and she chased forward blindly, not actually knowing if Fen Qianji had gone in this direction.

”Hanyan, Hanyan!” Ye Lanfeng’s voice, filled with urgency, rose from behind.

But Mu Hanyan seemed not to hear, continuing to chase forward in a discomposed manner.

Ye Lanfeng’s brow was deeply furrowed as he quickened his pace and caught up, seizing Mu Hanyan’s hand.

”What’s this...” Before Ye Lanfeng could say what he wanted, he stopped short upon seeing Mu Hanyan’s face turned back to him.

There were tearstains on Mu Hanyan’s face, of which she herself seemed completely unaware, just staring blankly at Ye Lanfeng.

”Hanyan, what’s wrong with you?” Ye Lanfeng, looking into Mu Hanyan’s eyes filled with sorrow, felt a pang in his heart and reached out to gently wipe the tears from the corners of her eyes.

”I... I don’t know what’s wrong with me,” Mu Hanyan responded in a murmur, still seemingly dazed.

”I’m by your side, don’t be afraid. I will be here, always,” Ye Lanfeng pulled Mu Hanyan into his embrace, softly comforting her. He didn’t know why Mu Hanyan had suddenly become like this, but he didn’t plan to ask. Who was that person, and why had they caused such a loss of composure in Hanyan? He would wait until the day Hanyan told him herself.

Mu Hanyan, feeling the warmth of Ye Lanfeng’s embrace, slowly calmed down.

Fen Qianji...

This person, with whom she had a complicated past full of grudges, she wanted to clarify many things. But she couldn’t impulsively seek answers directly like she had just now.

Because, in this life, Fen Qianji didn’t recognize her at all!

She hadn’t met him yet, nor had she become friends with him. She wouldn’t give him another chance to attack her from behind!

Mu Hanyan’s heart finally settled down slowly. Some matters would eventually come to light. There were too many puzzles, too many confusions; in this life, she would slowly find the answers. Only by finding the answers would her inner demons be completely vanquished, and she would be able to go further on the path of cultivation.

”I’m fine, don’t worry,” Mu Hanyan raised her head, met Ye Lanfeng’s tender gaze, and smiled. Fortunately, she had him to keep her company.

”Good, I’m relieved that you’re fine,” Ye Lanfeng smiled as well.

”Hmm, you might be fine, but we feel like we’ve got a problem,” Zirong and the others caught up and witnessed the scene where Ye Lanfeng gently embraced Mu Hanyan, comforting her tenderly and, in the end, the two of them looking into each other’s eyes and smiling warmly. Now, they were certain those two definitely had somethng going on, and it was the kind of mutual affection.

”Do you think, if the Family Head found out his grandson is gay, he would break off relations with our Young Master?” Zirong muttered quietly.

”I think it’s possible he might break both of the Young Master’s legs,” Jiang Yuzhe said, lips twitching as he watched the two in the distance.

”No, it should be three legs, to be exact,” Huayue added earnestly.

Zirong and Jiang Yuzhe turned to look at him with strange glances, but he remained righteous and composed, causing both Zirong and Jiang Yuzhe a bit of toothache. When did this guy start telling dirty jokes with such an air of decency? He really looked like he was asking for a beating.

”Feeling bored, are we? Gossiping behind someone’s back, careful or I might pull out your tongues,”With Mu Hanyan’s strength, of course she heard the banter of these three fools, and she glared at them, speaking irritably. However, her mind was pondering that some things seemed not so good to hide anymore. There was no need to conceal her strength, and no reason to hide her gender either. It was time to reveal her true self.

Ye Lanfeng showed no intention of explaining and simply looked at Mu Hanyan with doting eyes, causing Zirong and the others to feel a pain in their stomachs. Fine, fine, Master Ye, we get that you are deeply in love with our young lord, but could you not flirt with your eyes in front of us?

”Shall we go? Didn’t you say you wanted to check out the workshop market?” Ye Lanfeng finally spoke.

”Yeah, let’s go,” Mu Hanyan nodded and left with Ye Lanfeng without glancing at her three henchmen.

The three henchmen hurried to follow, leaving together.

When Mu Hanyan returned, the mother and son who had been in a state of shock had already left, and the injured commoners had been taken for treatment, with the workshop market bustling once more. Mu Zexian and the others were still waiting in the same spot and stepped forward to meet her when they saw her coming back.

”Brother Han Yan, what was going on just now? Are you all right?” Mu Zexian and the others all expressed their concern.

”I’m fine,” Mu Hanyan replied with a slight smile, signaling that she was indeed okay.

”Good to hear. So, Brother Han Yan, the Divine Sword Workshop is right ahead, shall we take a look?” Mu Zexian suggested.

Mu Hanyan didn’t respond. She had heard of the renown of the Divine Sword Workshop. In terms of name recognition, it might not be the biggest in Capital’s Sword Casting World, but when it came to history, it was certainly one of the oldest and most famous. Aside from making its own swords, the Divine Sword Workshop also had close relations with some swordsmiths who preferred to stay out of the limelight, often acting as an intermediary to sell works of famous masters.

The treasure swords produced by the Divine Sword Workshop were of course of good quality, but the prices were not cheap. Mu Hanyan just wanted to test the effects of the Divine Martial Refining Soul Technique and didn’t need an overly fine longsword, hence there was no need to waste money.

Suddenly, the sound of firecrackers came from up ahead, and the crowd surged towards a newly opened shop.

”Is that a grand opening of a new shop?” Mu Hanyan asked curiously.

”Oh, it seems to be called Nanyan Commerce. It’s newly opened. I heard it’s from a small place but quite bold, daring to compete with the old established Chambers of Commerce in the Capital,” Mu Zexian said dismissively.

”Nanyan Commerce,” Mu Hanyan was a bit surprised.

She hadn’t paid much attention to how Nanyan Commerce operated, and she didn’t expect that Mu Nan had quietly opened a branch in the Capital. She really hadn’t been doing a great job as the owner.

”Let’s go take a look too,” Since it was her Chamber of Commerce celebrating its grand opening, Mu Hanyan naturally wanted to show support.

”What’s so interesting about that little Chamber of Commerce,” Mu Zexian obviously did not think much of the humble Nanyan Commerce, speaking with disdain.

The background of Nanyan Commerce was a secret even in Heishi City, so they knew even less about it.
