Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 779: 779 is calling for you

”You, you hit me?” Mu Chengyang had never expected that Mu Hanyan would defy the family rules and strike him in front of everyone in the hall. Thus, he was unprepared and was initially stunned by her slap. It took him a moment to feel the burning pain on his face and he covered it, bellowing furiously.

”Nonsense, didn’t you see? Are your eyes bad, or is it your brain? Do you need me to slap you again to make you see?” Mu Hanyan looked at Mu Chengyang as if he were an idiot.

”You dare to hit me, you really dare to hit me?” Mu Chengyang felt this humiliation for the first time, shaking with anger and shame.

”Didn’t really knock some sense into you, did I? Isn’t it obvious? Why are you still asking? My slap wasn’t even that hard, how could you be so easily dazed?” Mu Hanyan looked at Mu Chengyang with sympathy.

”Mu Hanyan, I’m going to kill you, I’m going to kill you.” Mu Chengyang was uncontrollably furious and charged at Mu Hanyan.

”Brother Chengyang, don’t hit her, the family rules, the family rules,” the few followers of Mu Chengyang hurriedly advised.

Mu Hanyan had broken the family rules by striking first, and there were family punishments for that, but if Mu Chengyang retaliated, it would result in a brawl among clansmen, and they would both be punished severely, neither gaining any advantage.

Mu Chengyang paused, calming down a bit. Mu Hanyan had violated the family rules and would be punished, possibly even expelled from the Zong Family. There was no need for him to suffer because of her.

”Brother Han Yan...” Mu Zexian and the others had not expected Mu Hanyan to have such a fiery temper, and only now did they react, realizing the potential consequences and looking worriedly at her, subtly signaling her with their eyes.

”What now?” Mu Hanyan glared at Mu Zexian and said with disappointed sternness, ”Look at you all, boasting big earlier, I thought you had something spectacular, but it turns out to be all bark and no bite. When insulted until bloody, not even daring to fart, I feel embarrassed on your behalf.

He’s neither an elder nor a tributor, just another of our generation, what’s there to be scared of?

See how I slapped him across the face, and he could do nothing but stare blankly, spouting nonsense to save face. What else could he do to me?

Good thing he was smart enough not to keep spewing rubbish, or another heavy slap from me would reward him one on the left and one on the right, his face blooming like peach blossoms. Let’s see if he dares to pose and posture before me in the future.”

Mu Hanyan struck his best playboy pose, arrogantly speaking while waving his palms, miming slapping left and right.

Seeing Mu Hanyan’s arrogant and flamboyant demeanor, Mu Chengyang’s group was seething with nameless anger, grinding their teeth in fury.

Mu Chengyang was so angry it was like a Buddha being born and another ascending, although Mu Hanyan’s rhythmic slapping was not actually landing on his face, they felt even worse than if they had. It wasn’t just a slap; it was a total disfigurement.

”Mu Hanyan, I’m done with you,” Mu Chengyang roared like a wounded beast, charging towards Mu Hanyan.

”Brother Chengyang, the family rules, the family rules,” one follower reminded from behind.

”No matter what, even if we are punished together, I won’t rest until I have my revenge,” Mu Chengyang was beyond caring about any family rules at this point; he only wanted to vent his fury.

Seeing his enraged expression, the followers couldn’t bring themselves to advise further. Honestly, Mu Hanyan’s words were too inflammatory; even they were nearly at their breaking point, let alone Mu Chengyang, who bore the imprint of five fingers on his face.

Anyway, today it was Mu Hanyan who struck first, and this matter simply couldn’t be justified. Even if it was a scuffle within the family, there was a cause for everything. If the punishment was fifty board strikes each, Mu Hanyan still couldn’t escape unscathed. Moreover, ever since Mu Chengxuan, the elder brother of Mu Chengyang, had been taken in by the Supreme Elder, the Third Elder’s lineage had been thriving, already standing toe-to-toe with the Family Head. Since it was Mu Hanyan who had struck first, saying it was fifty board strikes each, surely, the unfortunate one would still be Mu Hanyan.

Thinking of this, they weren’t worried at all.

”Boom!” Mu Chengyang struck towards Mu Hanyan with a palm. Having grown up in the main Zong Family, even when furiously angry to the extreme, he had not completely lost his senses and hadn’t drawn his sword recklessly.

Sword Master First Rank.

Seeing Mu Chengyang’s strength, Mu Hanyan was slightly surprised; no wonder the Third Elder’s branch held such status, their Third Generation was so impressive.

With Mu Hanyan’s body fortified by meridian clearing and marrow washing, multiple advancements in the Heavenly Heart Technique, two lifetimes of rich experiences, and Six Senses twice as strong as an ordinary Sword Saint, his real combat power was indescribable compared to masters of the same rank. He didn’t take Mu Chengyang’s Sword Master First Rank strength seriously at all, his eyes flickering with a cunning light.

”Mu Chengyang, are you really going to strike?” Mu Hanyan’s face showed a look of panic, narrowly dodging Mu Chengyang’s palm filled with anger, he said.

”You dare to humiliate me, Mu Chengyang like this, Mu Hanyan! Today, I will not rest until one of us is dead,” said Mu Chengyang with a face full of anger, launching another palm strike.

He could see that although Mu Hanyan was also at the level of a Sword Master First Rank, his movement technique was clearly much weaker. With his family’s secretly transmitted exquisite Hand Skill, it wouldn’t take long before he could avenge this blood feud.

Humph, don’t think you can come back to the main Zong Family and create havoc just because you’ve reached Sword Master, he thought fiercely, today I will let you know the vast difference between the Branch Family Members and Zong Family’s Disciples. With a cold sneer in his heart, Mu Chengyang sent palm strike after palm strike towards Mu Hanyan.

Strong bursts of Qi, like a sudden fierce storm, poured towards Mu Hanyan.

”Xuxuan Cloud and Wind Palm! Isn’t this the Supreme Elder’s exclusive secret technique? When did Mu Chengyang also learn it?” Seeing the overwhelming Palm Shadows, Mu Ze and others’ faces drastically changed.

Originally thinking both were high masters of Sword Master First Rank, it was supposed to be difficult to tell the superior from the inferior, but unexpectedly Mu Chengyang had learned the Supreme Elder’s Xuxuan Cloud and Wind Palm, now Mu Hanyan might be in danger.

Indeed, facing Mu Chengyang’s extremely skilled Hand Skill, Mu Hanyan was in constant danger, barely managing to fend off attacks. His face grew paler and paler, clearly, in order to dodge Mu Chengyang’s Hand Skill, he had resorted to using all his techniques.

If it continued like this, he might very well be injured by Mu Chengyang.

”Stop, everyone stop!” Two elders hurriedly approached from the distance, shouting loudly. Judging by their demeanor, they seemed to be elders of the clan.

”The Great Elder and the Second Elder have arrived,” seeing the two men, Mu Ze and the others breathed a sigh of relief.

With things having escalated to this point, the fifty board strikes each was inevitable, they just hoped Mu Hanyan wouldn’t be hurt.

Hearing the shouting, Mu Chengyang slightly slowed his offensive, but upon seeing that it was the Great Elder and the Second Elder, he immediately changed his mind. Since receiving fifty board strikes each was inevitable, he still wanted to make Mu Hanyan suffer a bit first to regain some face, otherwise, it would be him, Mu Chengyang, who ended up embarrassed.

The Great Elder and the Second Elder quickly drew near, but upon seeing the situation at hand, they immediately ceased speaking, their faces stern as they asked, ”What is going on here?”
