Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 761: 761 is so bad that it’s likable.

The beast! Seeing the frail appearance of the girl, Han Yan’s rage intensified, her gaze turning icy as she looked at Zhuang Chengjun.

”Mother!” The girl took advantage of Zhuang Chengjun’s momentary daze to break free of his Devil Claw and flung herself into Aunt Xiu’s arms.

”Are you alright?” Han Yan then realized that the girl was Aunt Xiu’s daughter, she asked.

”I’m fine.” The girl turned her head away and glared fiercely at Zhuang Chengjun. Despite the humiliation she’d just experienced, she didn’t cry. Her tightly clenched lips showed a stubborn streak.

An average girl of her age would certainly burst into tears when faced with such an ordeal, but seeing her strength and stubbornness, Han Yan couldn’t help but admire her.

She scrutinized the girl closely. Apart from her comely features bearing resemblance to Aunt Xiu’s, her defiant expression also evoked in Han Yan a sense of déjà vu.

”Have I seen her somewhere before?” Han Yan wondered but quickly dismissed the thought. She had only been in the Capital for a day; it was impossible for them to have met.

Perhaps, she had seen someone similar to her, thought Han Yan, not dwelling on it further.

”Who dares to have such outrageous courage to ruin my good time?” Zhuang Chengjun straightened his clothes and spoke arrogantly.

Confronted with the fury in Han Yan’s eyes, he seemed completely unafraid, obviously confident in his own backing.

”Slap!” Han Yan moved swiftly, and a loud slap landed on his face.

Lady Mu disliked getting physical, and with Huayue and Zirong, her Gold Medal Thugs, she liked it even less. However, today’s events had pushed her beyond her limits of tolerance.

Aunt Xiu had served her grandmother and then her parents, and although it was unspoken, Han Yan could imagine that Aunt Xiu must have also helped during her birth, so despite being a servant, Aunt Xiu was considered an elder in Han Yan’s eyes.

That Zhuang Chengjun would dare to act indecently towards Aunt Xiu’s daughter in her parents’ house was a blatant disregard for them—it was an insult.

No matter how well-mannered Han Yan was, she couldn’t help but raise her hand.

Zhuang Chengjun had not expected Han Yan to actually hit him. Sent flying by her slap, he hadn’t touched the ground before several teeth scattered in the air.

”You, you, you dare to hit me, do you know who I am...” Zhuang Chengjun was completely dazed by the slap, stumbled a few circles after getting up, then looked at Han Yan in utter disbelief, clutching his cheek.

Before he could finish speaking, three fists simultaneously appeared in front of him.

”Bang” With a muffled sound, Zhuang Chengjun flew out again. Barely landing, a series of blows rained down on him like a torrential downpour.

Beating someone up wasn’t a task for the Young Master himself, hence Huayue and the others, completely aware of their role as lackeys, naturally took it upon themselves to relieve their master of such burdens, and of course, they were more than willing to do so for Han Yan.

”Stop, stop, stop right now.” Mu Yunshui didn’t expect Han Yan to act as soon as she said so, and he certainly hadn’t anticipated her guards being so decisive. They hadn’t even waited for Han Yan’s orders to start throwing punches. After a while, seeing Zhuang Chengjun battered, his nose swollen and face bloodied, wailing miserably, he hastily tried to intervene.

Han Yan might not be fully aware of Zhuang Chengjun’s background, but he was. Aside from being a young master of the Zhuang Family, he was also Mu Chengxuan’s uncle by marriage. Mu Chengxuan and his sister had been betrothed since childhood, and though not yet wed, it was merely a matter of time.

Before, when Mu Chengxuan encountered Han Yan, he was clearly full of hostility. Now having beaten up his elder uncle, the matter has escalated, and it would not end well even if brought before the Supreme Elder. Although it was indeed Zhuang Chengjun’s fault, it was truly not worth it for a maid of low birth.

”What’s wrong?” Huayue and several others stopped and asked.

”Cough cough, this is still the Mu Residence, and it’s Han Yan’s first day back. Making such a commotion is likely to reflect poorly on your reputation,” Mu Yunshui had things he couldn’t say outright and could only earnestly advise.

To be frank, he couldn’t wait for Han Yan’s reputation to stink even more. If she incited public outrage and was driven out of the Mu Family, that would be ideal. But now that the handle was in Han Yan’s hands, he had no choice but to consider her interests in every aspect, hoping only that she would remember his good intentions and not be a blabbermouth.

”Mm, you have a point,” Han Yan nodded.

As soon as her voice fell, Jiang Yuzhe took off his socks, stuffed them into Zhuang Chengjun’s mouth, and said with a smile, ”This way, there won’t be any noise.”

Han Yan slapped her forehead—surely as the saying goes, one takes on the attributes of one’s associates, another fine young man corrupted by Zirong. However, she liked this kind of corruption very much!

In the courtyard, a series of thudding sounds rang out again, interspersed with muffled grunts from Zhuang Chengjun’s throat.

”That’s enough, let’s stop here,” Han Yan said to Huayue and the others upon seeing Zhuang Chengjun’s average strength and wanting to avoid a fatality.

Huayue and the others likely also felt he was weak, making it unsatisfying to beat him, and stopped immediately upon hearing her.

However, no sooner had they stopped than Yunyun the little girl charged forward fiercely, aiming a kick at Zhuang Chengjun’s vital area.

”Aoow...” Zhuang Chengjun convulsed all over and howled like a wolf, even spitting out the stinky sock from his mouth.

Han Yan hadn’t expected the little girl to be so fierce. At first, she was slightly taken aback, then she broke into a smile, her admiration for the girl growing.

Huayue and the others exchanged glances, looking at Yunyun’s young face still showing her innocence, and subconsciously tightened their legs together.

Such a ruthless little girl, even more merciless than themselves!

Zhuang Chengjun rolled around on the ground in agony, drawing cold breaths when Han Yunyun, still not appeased, darted forward to kick him viciously again.

Han Yan broke out in a cold sweat. If that kick landed again, Zhuang Chengjun might be doomed to have no offspring. She was about to intervene when she heard a cold shout, ”Stop!”

At the sound of that cold shout, Han Yunyun’s body trembled, and she retreated a few steps subconsciously, her face filled with fear.

Aunt Xiu’s face also changed dramatically as she quickly shielded Han Yunyun behind her, then bowed to the newcomer and said, ”This servant pays respect to the Young Master.”

The arrival was the grandchild of the Third Elder, the Supreme Elder’s direct disciple: Mu Chengxuan.

The Mu Family judged seniority by strength and position. Although Mu Chengxuan was not the oldest among the Mu Family’s disciples, his status as a Fifth Rank Sword Master and as the direct disciple of the Supreme Elder far surpassed that of his peers. Therefore, he was respectfully addressed as the Young Master by the servants, a situation somewhat similar to Han Yan’s in Heishi City.

”A lowly maid dares to attack and injure another, when did the dogs raised by our Mu Family become so undisciplined,” Mu Chengxuan approached slowly, looking down disdainfully at Aunt Xiu and her daughter, and said coldly.

Hearing his words, Han Yunyun’s face showed shame and anger, but she did not dare to lift her head. Earlier, in the face of Zhuang Chengjun’s humiliation, the little girl had not shed a tear, but now tears were swirling endlessly in her eyes.
