Ms. Diviner: The Prodigal Daughter's Return

Chapter 752: 752 Han Yan has become the idol of the playboys.

Upon seeing Mu Hanyan reveal her true strength, those dozen or so youths were all stunned. They looked at each other, but none dared to continue the confrontation.

”The previous incident was all a misunderstanding. My name is...” Mu Hanyan broke the silence, beginning to introduce herself once more.

”Our opponent is formidable, better scram.” Before she could finish speaking, a youth suddenly shouted and turned tail to run.

Then, one after another, the other youngsters scattered and fled back into the Mansion.

In the blink of an eye, the group of Mu Family’s Disciples had run off without a trace, leaving only their accompanying guards at the original spot, exchanging wry smiles.

”Young master, have we come to the wrong place?” Zirong stood in confusion for a long while before questioning Mu Hanyan with doubt.

Huayue and Jiang Yuzhe also wore faces full of bewilderment.

”It shouldn’t be wrong, right? In the Capital, there shouldn’t be a second Mu Family,” Mu Hanyan said, looking up at the two characters for ’Mu Mansion’ on the gate plaque.

She naturally knew what Huayue and the others were wondering about. The Mu Family, once one of the two great families in Anyun City, had been severely weakened nearly ten thousand years ago after a deadly battle with the Zhao Family, which allowed the rise of other families. However, after all, they were still one of the Eight Great Families. How did their descendants become so feeble?

At first, when she saw them unsheathing their swords as soon as they met, Mu Hanyan thought although they were somewhat playboyish, they were also young and full of the ardor for battle. But who would’ve thought that at the first sign of trouble they would take to their heels, so cowardly that even Mu Hanyan found it hard to watch.

What surprised Mu Hanyan the most was that throughout the entire encounter, both the guards standing at the gate and the ones who had accompanied the young men, didn’t make a move; they only wore bitter smiles when they saw the youths scatter like rats, showing no intention of intervening.

What in the world was going on?

Just when Mu Hanyan was deep in her puzzled thoughts, the young men who had previously fled in disarray returned, surrounded by an elder in flowing robes, striding like a shooting star, exuding a powerful aura.

”Who is so audacious to injure the offspring of my Mu Family and even dare to cause trouble at my residence? Thinking the Mu Family is a sick cat just because the tiger doesn’t show its might?” The elder roared angrily as he approached.

”It’s him, Ninth Tributor, it’s him,” Mu Zexian pointed at Mu Hanyan, saying excitedly.

The Ninth Tributor looked at Mu Hanyan, and his expression changed dramatically.

”Brat, you’re dead meat now, daring to lay a hand on me; you’re definitely dead,” Mu Zexian said arrogantly, completely oblivious to the changing expression on the Ninth Tributor’s face.

”You’re dead meat, Ninth Tributor, teach him a lesson, show him the prowess of our Mu Family,” the other youths said triumphantly, watching Mu Hanyan, their eyes gleaming with delight that seemed to say: you’re in for it now, a really big trouble.

”Ninth Tributor, long time no see,” Mu Hanyan said cheerfully, looking at Mu Yunshui.

The last time Mu Yunshui left Heishi City, he had left quietly, tail between his legs, as he felt humiliated. Mu Hanyan didn’t expect to see him so soon after arriving home, truly a fateful encounter.

”Ha... haha... So it’s you, Hanyan! You should’ve let me know in advance when you were coming to the Capital, so I could’ve welcomed you,” Mu Yunshui recovered from his shock, laughed awkwardly, and quickly stepped forward to greet her warmly.

At this, it was Mu Hanyan’s turn to be taken aback. She didn’t recall being so close with this elderly man; the last time they met, he was full of determination to punish her according to the family law. Why had he suddenly become so affectionate?

As she was still in a daze, Mu Yunshui had already approached Mu Hanyan, grabbed her hand, and started shaking it vigorously, causing her head to spin.

”Ninth Tributor, could it be that you’ve recognized the wrong person?” Mu Zexian and the others were also puzzled, and after a long while, they finally hesitated to ask.

”What do you mean, ’recognized the wrong person’? Do you think I’m going blind?” Mu Yunshui glared fiercely at Mu Zexian and said, ”Hurry, hurry, come over and meet her. This is Mu Hanyan from Heishi City, our Mu Family’s once-in-a-millennium genius, a genius among geniuses, who is also your big brother. You all should get closer to her from now on, and you must not forget your manners.”

”What, he is Mu Hanyan!” After hearing Mu Yunshui’s words, Mu Zexian and the others were greatly surprised. At first, they were scared and took a few steps back, but then they showed expressions of delight.

Seeing their delighted expressions, Mu Hanyan became even more bewildered.

”I am Mu Hanyan, whatever happened before was a misunderstanding, and I apologize to you,” said Mu Hanyan to Mu Zexian. After all, they were brothers, and it felt somewhat wrong to have slapped someone unconscious upon first meeting, especially in the hall and in front of everyone. Mu Hanyan felt a bit apologetic.

”Uh, it’s okay, it’s okay, no fight, no acquaintance, right?” Mu Zexian touched his face and chuckled sheepishly.

This guy is so generous? Mu Hanyan recalled Mu Zexian’s previous ruthlessness, striking without asking questions, and was a bit doubtful. But looking at his young face, she thought he probably wasn’t that scheming.

”Anyway, we’re all family here, it’s just a slap, not a big deal. We’ve long heard about Brother Han Yan’s great name, heard you’re the number one playboy in Heishi City, right? We’ve all heard about you and admire you immensely,” said another youth.

”Right, Brother Han Yan, I heard you’re a Divine Fortune Teller?” Mu Zexian looked at Mu Hanyan with a face full of curiosity and anticipation.

”And that you have mastered the Divine Language Holy Word Technique?” another youth joined in with a gossiping look.

”I know a little,” Mu Hanyan replied vaguely, as she wasn’t sure if she had truly mastered the Divine Language Holy Word Technique.

”Brother Han Yan, can you teach me? Star Divination Masters make money the fastest, and even those with a little skill are filthy rich,” said another chubby youth, eyes sparkling with greed.

”Yes, yes, yes, I want to learn too. Brother Mu, come on, I’ll take you to the Zuixiang Building to welcome and cleanse you after your travels,” hurried another youth.

”Eh...” Mu Hanyan wiped away a cold sweat in secret. She was not familiar with the Capital, but she had heard of the Zuixiang Building—it was the most famous pleasure quarter in the Capital, a true den of iniquity.

The oldest of these youths was only sixteen or seventeen, and the youngest just fourteen or fifteen. Yet, they were already frequenting such places for leisure.

Playboys, indeed they were a bunch of playboys.

Although she was not interested in places like the Zuixiang Building, nor could she be, Lady Mu still felt a sense of kinship.

It seemed the Capital’s prestigious families weren’t excluding her after all. The ties of kinship were strong.

Now, Mu Hanyan was finally beginning to understand the situation. The great battle in Heishi City had made her name soar, and her reputation had spread to the Capital. Even the young playboys of the Mu Family idolized her, greatly admiring her, so much so that they didn’t even mind the earlier beating by her hand.

No wonder, they were at the age of youthful exuberance, probably most yearning for those legendary swordsmen who could ”Sword to Rule Heaven and Earth”, like Mu Hanyan herself used to do. Plus, being playboys themselves, they naturally felt some closeness to her.

Surrounded by a dozen chattering youths, Mu Hanyan felt a bit of a headache, but she could still tell that these guys were just a bunch of spoiled children who had grown up indulged and reckless. However, they weren’t completely bad at their core. At least... not yet, but if indulged further, it was hard to say how they might turn out.

”What a bunch of idiots.” Mu Hanyan was thinking this when she heard a cold snort.

A tall, young man with an arrogant posture walked past, his eyes briefly sweeping over Mu Zexian and the others with obvious disdain.
