Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 391: Chapter 391: Not a Suitable Foster Mother 32

After entering high school, Wang Xiaoyan took advantage of the weekend to find Fan Lei, and they had an encounter. Due to Wang Xiaoyan’s deliberate flirting, the two quickly became boyfriend and girlfriend.

Of course, their relationship was kept secret.

The school had rules that prohibited high school students from dating. If students were found dating, they would be expelled. Wang Xiaoyan wanted to go to college and did not want to be expelled.

But after Wang Xiaoyan turned eighteen, she was coaxed by Fan Lei’s sweet talk to move out and rent a place together. So, they started living together secretly.

Yuan Chun had registered her for boarding, but she canceled it herself and used the refunded money secretly. However, every weekend, she would still go home like when she was boarding.

Of course, she went home not because she was afraid of her aunt, nor because she missed her aunt, but to get her allowance. Every weekend, Yuan Chun would give her one hundred yuan for buying study materials.

Wang Xiaoyan was determined to go to college, so she used all this money for study materials, and most of the refunded boarding fees were also spent on study materials.

As for her meals, she ate in the school cafeteria, and her meal card was topped up by her aunt.

Even though Wang Xiaoyan moved out of the school dormitory, she ate well, lived comfortably, and dressed warmly, but Fan Lei wasn’t as fortunate.

He used the living expenses his parents gave him to pay rent, so he often missed meals and sometimes had to ask Wang Xiaoyan for money to eat.

But Wang Xiaoyan’s allowance was limited, and she needed to buy study materials, so she couldn’t spare extra money for him.

Fan Lei complained, ”Xiao Yan, your aunt is so wealthy, but she’s so stingy with you, only giving you one hundred yuan a week for allowance, which isn’t even enough for study materials. Xiao Yan, next time you go home, ask your aunt for more money, otherwise, we won’t be able to pay the rent next month.”

Wang Xiaoyan hesitated, ”But I’m living under someone else’s roof. My aunt is already supporting my studies... she won’t give me more money.”

Fan Lei frustratedly ran his hand through his hair, ”Then what should I do? I’ve used all my living expenses to pay rent. This place isn’t just for me; it’s for both of us. The rent should be split equally. I haven’t even asked you for rent, and now I’m asking you for some money for food, and you can’t even give that. Are you trying to starve me?”

Wang Xiaoyan awkwardly suggested, ”How about I bring more food from the cafeteria for us to eat together?”

Fan Lei grunted angrily, ”For now, it can be like this, but you should ask your aunt for some money when you go back. A high school student can’t buy study materials with just one hundred yuan a week. Ask her for three to five hundred.”

”My aunt won’t give that much,” Wang Xiaoyan remembered how Yuan Chun would jot down the amount on a little notebook every time she was given money.

That notebook contained all the money she spent.

Her aunt said that while she wouldn’t demand her to repay the money, she still wanted to know how much the Fang Family spent on her.

Yuan Chun’s husband had the last name Fang.

Fan Lei sneered, ”How do you know she won’t give unless you try?”

He spread his hands, ”Anyway, I’ve spent all my living expenses on rent this month. If you want to keep living with me outside, you’ll have to pay half the rent in the future. Otherwise, I can’t keep going hungry.”

”I’ll try when I go back this weekend, but if my aunt doesn’t give it, then that’s that,” Wang Xiaoyan knew the chances of her aunt giving more money were slim.

But living so tightly all the time wasn’t an option either.
