Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 389: Chapter 389: Not a Foster Mother 30

Yuan Chun curled her lips into a mocking smile and asked, ”Wang Xiaoyan, tell me, do you want to go with the police officer to the orphanage or stay here?”

Since Wang Xiaoyan came, she naturally wouldn’t go to the orphanage.

She stammered, ”I... I want to stay and be with Auntie.”

As long as she stayed with Auntie, she always had a chance.

In her past life, she was able to inherit Auntie’s property.

This life, she will surely get her wish.

Yuan Chun nodded, ”So what grade are you in this year, or are you not attending school anymore?”

”No, not anymore, after Grandpa died last year, I dropped out.”

”Do you want to continue school, or do you want to go to a vocational school?”

”I... I want to go to school, Auntie, I want to go to college.” Wang Xiaoyan had lived a lifetime and knew well that education could change lives.

In her past life, she was a college student.

She didn’t want to be reborn just to become someone who didn’t even graduate middle school.

”Officer, Wang Xiaoyan wants to stay, but for her schooling, we’ll need your help to contact a school, after all, she doesn’t have a Beijing residence permit, and it’s hard to find a school for her here.”

In her past life, because Wang Xiaoyan didn’t have a local permit, she couldn’t find a school, which is why the original owner thought of adopting her.

But Yuan Chun didn’t care that much.

Since the police brought her here, she left it to the police officer to solve the problem.

The police officer was quite efficient; three days later, he found a nearby middle school for Wang Xiaoyan, and Yuan Chun didn’t have to pay a transfer fee. Wang Xiaoyan just needed to take her residence permit to register.

Xiao Bao just happened to be studying at that school; since Wang Xiaoyan had dropped out and her grades weren’t good, she could only attend the second year of middle school, becoming Xiao Bao’s classmate.

But Yuan Chun wouldn’t let her go to and from school with Xiao Bao.

Yuan Chun directly registered her as a boarding student; on the first day of school, she packed her luggage and sent her to live at the school, even recharging her meal card and giving her one hundred yuan pocket money.

Yuan Chun took her to the dormitory and said, ”Xiao Yan, I’ve arranged your living needs, even sanitary pads, I’ve prepared ten packs for you, so you shouldn’t need to buy anything. This one hundred yuan is for study materials, don’t buy snacks, or else when you have no money for materials, I’ll ask where the money went. After all, every penny you spend is my kind gift to you and not something you’re entitled to demand. I owe you nothing.”

That’s right, every time Yuan Chun spent money on the ungrateful, she reminded her once.

The money she spent wasn’t hers; it was a gift from this aunt.

This aunt owed her nothing.

On the contrary, the original owner had raised the ungrateful for over ten years and even let her inherit so much property; it was the ungrateful one who owed the original owner.

After dropping Wang Xiaoyan off at school, Yuan Chun no longer bothered with her.

On weekends, when Wang Xiaoyan would return home for one day, Yuan Chun treated her like a relative’s child, without excessive care.

And she wouldn’t give her much money.

Even the clothes she bought her were all from street stalls, costing only tens of yuan per item, unlike the original owner who foolishly bought her all high-end brands.

At first, Wang Xiaoyan was not satisfied and said, ”Auntie, these clothes feel uncomfortable; I want to buy them from the store.”

Yuan Chun retorted, ”You couldn’t afford these clothes in the countryside, could you? When you came that day, your clothes were tattered and given by someone else, weren’t they? What, you want to wear hand-me-downs, I can ask someone for a few sets.”

Scaring Wang Xiaoyan into not daring to retort again.
