Quick Transmigration: The Cannon Fodder's Comeback in the Era Tales

Chapter 362: Chapter 362: Not Fit to Be a Foster Mother 3

”Brother-in-law, don’t worry, I won’t spend a penny of Xiao Yan’s money on myself. I’ll spend it all on her. I will keep a ledger for her, and every penny spent on her will be recorded. When she turns eighteen, if she doesn’t want me to raise her anymore, I’ll return any extra money to Xiao Yan. I’m her real aunt, I won’t take advantage of Xiao Yan for a single penny.”

Yuan Chun spoke with a straight face and a serious tone.

The brother-in-law was shocked, then with a trace of panic on his face, he said, ”What money, I don’t understand what you’re talking about, I haven’t seen any money. I’m telling you, I don’t want to raise that liability. If you don’t take her in, I’ll just give her to someone else to raise.”

The brother-in-law was sure that the original owner was soft-hearted and couldn’t bear to part with her sister’s only child, so from the start, he was calculating against the original owner.

Yuan Chun sneered coldly, ”That’s your daughter, not mine. I have no responsibility or obligation to raise her. However, if you give her away, I’ll go to court to sue you to get back the portion of her mother’s death compensation that rightfully belongs to my niece.”

Seeing the brother-in-law was about to speak, Yuan Chun quickly added, ”Brother-in-law, don’t deny it. I just came from the police station, and I’ve got it all clear. You settled with the car owner, and they gave you two hundred thousand in death compensation. At least one hundred and twenty thousand of that belongs to Xiao Yan.”

So, if you want to abandon your daughter, don’t even think about keeping that money.

The brother-in-law’s face was as uncomfortable as can be.

At this moment, the brother-in-law’s mother suddenly burst into loud sobs, ”Oh dear, they’re trying to drive someone to death here, where’s this two hundred thousand coming from, this old woman hasn’t seen a penny. That driver just fled, who are we supposed to ask for money from...”

The sister-in-law hastily and sternly questioned Yuan Chun, ”Yuan Chun, when your sister was alive, she took great care of you, always remembering to share whatever good food she had with you. But now your sister has just died, and you’re being so cold towards Xiao Yan. Are you worthy of your sister? Xiao Yan was your sister’s lifeblood. If you, as her sister, don’t help raise her daughter, who will? Yuan Chun, please be kind, and take Xiao Yan away quickly.”

Yuan Chun sneered, ”Not admitting it? Fine then, I’ll go and ask the police station whether taking someone’s death compensation and framing them for a hit-and-run isn’t grounds for imprisonment.”

”Moreover, getting someone’s death compensation and not admitting it, hahaha, well, the police station has your signature, surely it’s not fake?”

”Alright, since none of you want to raise Xiao Yan, nor do you want to give her a single penny, I’ll go and ask the police station whether this constitutes abandonment or embezzlement? Embezzling a child’s maintenance money is definitely embezzlement, and with one hundred and twenty thousand, that’s considered a significant amount. If you go to court, a ten-year prison sentence won’t be out of the question.”

With that, Yuan Chun picked up her luggage and turned to leave.

The brother-in-law’s eyes flashed with panic. He hurriedly grabbed her, ”Yuan Chun, wait a minute, let’s sit down and discuss this matter properly.”

”What’s there to discuss? I didn’t get a penny of my sister’s death compensation. What are you discussing with me? Are you planning to discuss how much to give me?”

”Ah, pooh, you shameless wench, you still want a share of my family’s money? Let me tell you, your sister married into my family, so she’s part of the Old Wang Family. Her money is also part of the Old Wang Family’s money.”
