Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chen Ming had already thought about it, and He Gu was right.

Working on energy crystals all by himself, even with the simultaneous help of Dusk and the Insect Race, he’s certainly unable to meet the demand everywhere.

Let alone supplying the entire Empire, he might not even be able to fully provide for a single Star Zone.

At the moment, since the species of Energy Crystal Crabs still needs expanding, the number of energy crystals Chen Ming supplies to the Fourteenth Legion hasn’t reached its limit yet.

There’s no way Chen Ming could snatch tens of thousands from Dusk, and in just a few months, they’d somehow spread across the entire planet.

But relying solely on the Insect Queen on the current single planet and the ongoing expansion by Dusk, the upper limit of energy crystals that can be provided in the short term is about it.

However, if he sells the breeding and development process of Energy Crystal Crabs to the Fourteenth Legion, the situation would be different.

The production of energy crystals could definitely be greatly increased.

And Chen Ming, already making money from the antimatter patent fees, Superspace Navigation Teleportation Engine patent fees, and selling part of the energy crystals, maintains a balance with the exploring fleet outside.

He certainly could earn more money.

”That’s great, how do you plan to sell them?”

”Hmm...”

Certainly, he won’t give away the Energy Crystal Insects.

Giving away the insects would cause big problems.

Chen Ming can only provide the Fourteenth Legion with Energy Crystal Crabs.

And this Energy Crystal Crab...

Although Chen Ming had the Insect Queen consume a few Energy Crystal Crabs, and bred Energy Crystal Insects from their genes, he hasn’t concerned himself much with the Energy Crystal Crabs since.

Thankfully, not all of those Energy Crystal Crabs were eaten.

They are still being cultivated.

Although the production and quality of Energy Crystal Insects specifically bred by the Insect Queen for energy crystal transformation completely outperform the Energy Crystal Crabs.

Yet, Energy Crystal Crabs are ultimately natural creatures, and through special breeding, might mutate into some interesting things; quite a few were left by the Extraordinary and the Insect Queen.

Chen Ming can give away these Energy Crystal Crabs.

Besides, Chen Ming also plans to have the Insect Queen use her gene control abilities to transform some Energy Crystal Insects into Energy Crystal Crab forms.

With his Spiritual Energy, the Insect Queen’s capability, altering the genes to make it unnoticeable is quite simple.

This can also indirectly explain why the goods Chen Ming sold to the Fourteenth Legion this period don’t match the quality of the Energy Crystal Crabs he provides.

”I can directly give the legion the breed I’ve cultivated here; it’s just uncertain whether the legion can mass produce them.”

”Absolutely possible.”

Bai Quan said, ”The main restriction on the legion’s development of Energy Crystal Crabs is the quantity.”

”Previously, you only gave two adult Energy Crystal Crabs and two eggs, a total of four crabs; they’re only good as pets for decoration. Relying on four to cultivate a breed is a fantasy.”

”But if you’re willing to give more, we can definitely rely on various growth hormones to shorten the breeding time significantly, so you don’t have to worry about that.”

”Then, approximately how many are needed?”

Bai Quan thought of a rough number, ”At least a hundred thousand; with that quantity, we can start, and the more we can provide afterwards, the better.”

”No problem, I’ll deliver Giant Level to the branch when the time comes, as it’s a bit far from the main headquarters.”

”Jing Xian originally handled this, you can talk to him when the time comes. I’ll help connect the dots for you, you won’t miss out.”

Chen Ming nodded, reaching a verbal agreement with Bai Quan: ”Alright, I’ve finished talking, what did you want to say earlier?”

Bai Quan suddenly blushed.

He intended to tactlessly clarify the matter concerning Cheng Xinghai completely.

This can’t keep dragging on; if it delays again this time.

By the time he and Chen Ming talk about this again, it might take a few more months.

By then, they might have started the war with the Mechanical Race, and he would definitely have no time to discuss relationship matters with Chen Ming.

He has to clarify everything now.

Bai Quan cleared his throat and said, ”So...how’s your recent command studies going? Any questions you need to ask?”

Chen Ming immediately understood what Bai Quan meant.

He also felt the time was ripe, he couldn’t drag it on any longer.

Bai Quan had talked about this issue for a long time, giving plenty of hints from all sides.

He should at least give Bai Quan, or rather Cheng Xinghai, an answer.

As Chen Ming thought about this, he instinctively reminisced about the time he recently spent with Cheng Xinghai.

In his impression, being with Cheng Xinghai felt comfortable.

Cheng Xinghai’s personality isn’t like that of a typical nineteen-year-old girl; how could someone in the military be like ordinary girls? But she also doesn’t have an overly dominant personality.

Her character is quite adept at changing according to different situations; she exhibits different behaviors depending on the context.

Chen Ming felt this way right from the beginning when interacting with Cheng Xinghai in simulations.

At that time, he wondered if everything about Cheng Xinghai was deliberately portrayed, whether it was false.

But later Cheng Xinghai made him change his perception, showing her most genuine side.

And that was when chatting about games.

During free times, Cheng Xinghai talked to Chen Ming a lot about the happenings in the games.

If it was only one or two days, Chen Ming might still be suspicious.

But Cheng Xinghai talking about it every day, even when Chen Ming himself isn’t very interested in or familiar with games due to various reasons, yet she constantly brought it up and tried enthusiastically to promote the games she often played to Chen Ming.
