Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

”That means once our antimatter technology is taken by Dusk, they might be able to produce the same technology immediately.”

”And the same goes for the Mechanical Race; the Mechanical Race also hasn’t used antimatter technology.”

”But as a legacy of another civilization, it’s likely not that they can’t, but that parts of the technology have been lost.”

”Once they acquire our antimatter technology, the situation might be similar to that with Dusk.”

This is indeed a rather troublesome point.

It’s also something Chen Ming occasionally hears from some scientists researching antimatter when he checks on his antimatter technology patent fees.

”But worrying about weapons being picked up and used by someone else doesn’t mean we shouldn’t bring weapons to the battlefield.”

He Gu responded to Chen Ming’s question: ”Of course, that’s not the right approach. So I’m just saying it’s impossible to start equipping them too early.”

”If our antimatter technology is acquired too soon by Dusk or the Mechanical Race, then our advantage of taking the lead will be gone.”

”Therefore, the actual equipping of antimatter technology must be during the initial to mid-transition phase after the war with the Mechanical Race begins.”

”During this phase, there will be numerous ship losses, so there will certainly be an opportunity for equipping.”

”Before this, all applications of antimatter technology are for testing purposes.”

”So I think your technology will be equipped faster than antimatter technology.”

He Gu laid out his thoughts logically, and Chen Ming indeed had no argument against it.

Nor was it necessary to argue, as He Gu’s words were indirectly complimenting him.

”Then what about energy crystal technology?”

This made He Gu’s expression a bit uncomfortable. He considered for a moment before saying, ”It’s not my research direction, so I don’t know much, but I can roughly tell you the Legion’s attitude towards this technology.”

”This technology indeed has great potential and performs excellently as a new energy storage material, even better than the battery arrays of the Main Ship.”

”You should also be selectively breeding suitable Energy Crystal Crabs, right? The energy crystals sent over are becoming better with each batch.”

”Uh...”

Chen Ming hesitated for a moment and said, ”Indeed.”

However, what he was doing wasn’t eugenics, but the Insect Queen was selecting the best quality crystals from the insect race individuals specifically optimized by Chen Ming for energy crystal production.

Then, based on these individuals, he replicated them and made slight genetic modifications for energy crystal production, trying to find the most suitable insect race individuals for producing energy crystals.

Could the sent crystals be anything but good?

But He Gu quickly changed his tone, saying: ”However, these energy crystals cannot be considered a technology that can drive the Empire’s expansion, nor are they as important as the previous two technologies.”

”Although energy is a crucial component, there’s a critical issue: production.”

”The antimatter battery is still under research, and it’s uncertain if its effects will differ from your energy crystals.”

”But as long as the research is successful, antimatter batteries can definitely be mass-produced.”

”What about your energy crystals?”

”Mass production isn’t as simple as building a factory; a technology needs the entire Empire’s industrial colony foundation to support its application across the Empire.”

”You currently have at most one Planet established as a breeding base for Energy Crystal Crabs. What can the production of one Planet achieve?”

”Even if one Planet is entirely dedicated to breeding and production, it cannot keep up with the Empire’s consumption; it might barely supply one Legion.”

”Therefore, the Legion’s opinion is to internally consume all the energy crystals sent over by you, using them on the Main Ship to replace its battery arrays.”

”After all, our Legion has the ability to modify the Main Ship, and both Offensive Level and Legion Level have models particularly modified by our Legion.”

”This technology can be used and is very useful, but expanding beyond your current scale is out of the question unless... you know.”

Chen Ming also knows that it’s a pipe dream for one Planet’s Insect Nest to supply the Empire with energy crystals.

He Gu’s implication is clear: if Chen Ming is willing to deepen cooperation with the Fourteenth Legion, handing over the breeding work of Energy Crystal Crabs to the Legion.

Though Chen Ming’s share in the entire production process would decrease, and he would earn less money.

If the overall production scale increases, the final profit may be higher.

The production of energy crystals...

Chen Ming feels he needs to consider this.

Because he believes the Insect Queen has the potential to support the Empire’s energy crystal consumption.

And he and He Gu were just chatting before reaching the Star Gate, which certainly shouldn’t be taken seriously.

So Chen Ming simply didn’t continue talking much on this topic.

Instead, following the topic of modifying the Main Ship that He Gu just mentioned, he said: ”Speaking of modified Main Ships, I’m quite interested in the Prometheus Mk.2 from Cai Mo Star Realm. Do you have any news on it?”

He Gu couldn’t help but say: ”Your thoughts are a bit scattered.”

Chen Ming, looking as though he’s used to it, said: ”More than one person has said this about me, but this is just how I am; I speak whatever comes to mind, so how is that Main Ship?”

”But I’m not researching this either...”

”Surely there are some basic data or something, right?”

”Let me think...”
