Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

But he could give a hint to ensure there would be no problems.

”That’s great.”

Hearing Chen Ming’s response, He Gu didn’t mind saying a bit more.

This kind of feedback exchange was much more comforting than simply trying to gain favor with Chen Ming.

Moreover, Chen Ming’s response showed He Gu that Chen Ming was a smart person and willing to continue deeper exchanges with him.

”Based on our recent reconnaissance, we found that the Mechanical Race has changed significantly compared to the past.”

”Although the Mechanical Race’s combat power was strong enough to hinder the Empire’s expansion plans, it wasn’t the main issue back then.”

”Realistically, when the Mechanical Race was blocking, if the Empire really wanted to, it could still fight.”

”The reason the Empire didn’t do this involved various complex reasons, which I won’t go into detail about.”

”In short, compared to before, the Mechanical Race’s combat power has increased significantly.”

”They haven’t been stagnant all these years; they have been making progress.”

”For example?”

”For example, the changes in their Main Ship’s Main Level Weapons.”

As He Gu spoke, he took out a special terminal from his body, and he and Chen Ming returned to the coffee table in the meeting room, placing the terminal flat on it.

He then projected a Main Ship of the Mechanical Race, specifically the Mother Ship, onto the table.

Chen Ming immediately leaned in for a closer look and found that the three-dimensional projection was incredibly precise; even with his face nearly touching it, he could still see many details of the Main Ship clearly.

He Gu patted Chen Ming’s shoulder, signaling him to move back a little, and waved his hand around the projection, turning the front of the Main Ship towards the two of them.

”The Mechanical Race’s Main Ships often have different appearances, but the type with two Main Level Weapons like this is quite common.”

”By the way, do you know what the Mechanical Race’s Main Level Weapons are like?”

If Chen Ming knew, it would save He Gu some explanation.

”I know.”

Chen Ming promptly responded: ”The Mechanical Race’s Main Level Weapon is the Spine Peak Cannon, a modular main weapon divided into the Spine Peak Base, Spine Peak Amplifier, and Spine Peak Cannon Head.”

His gaze locked onto the main cannon of the Mother Ship projection, and he asked, ”Have the Mechanical Race developed a new type of cannon head?”

Chen Ming asked this question because his understanding of the Mechanical Race’s Mother Ship and Main Level Weapons came from simulations.

In the simulations, he had encountered five types of Spine Peak Cannon Heads.

Laser, Constraining Laser, Plasma, Disassembler, and Slayer.

The first three are easy to understand as weapon types.

As for the Disassembler, although Chen Ming hadn’t seen it, based on previous data he obtained,

this weapon is an Energy Weapon, specifically an energy beam weapon similar to the Speed Particle Spear.

However, instead of a Particle Torrent, it emits a type of energy that weakens and destroys the molecular bonds constructing its target upon impact, not very effective against Shields but terrifyingly effective against Armor and hulls.

The Slayer, on the other hand, was used by the Mechanical Race’s Mother Ship, under the guidance of Chen Ming’s opponent, to attack Chen Ming’s command center in the last simulation as a Spiritual Weapon.

It can destroy the minds and wills of all life forms on an entire Planet.

He Gu specifically turned the Mother Ship’s image to the front, likely to explain the situation with the Main Level Weapon.

He indeed nodded and adjusted it once more.

On the projection, one of the two Spine Peak Cannon Heads changed, with one turning from a Laser emitting cannon head to something resembling an Electromagnetic Weapon’s head.

”This seems to be a Kinetic Energy Weapon, isn’t the Spine Peak Weapon supposed to amplify energy through the Spine Peak Amplifier? How is there a Kinetic Energy Weapon?”

He Gu couldn’t explain and could only say, ”This is the new change I mentioned, the Mechanical Race seems to be trying to use energy transformed into electromagnetic force, finally converted into the acceleration of solid bullet manufacturing.”

”You can’t say it’s unreasonable, but it’s definitely a unique weapon type.”

”As far as I know, among the Main Level Weapons, only this Mechanical Race weapon is considered solid bullet type, all other Main Level Weapons are Energy Weapons, we don’t know how it will perform on the battlefield.”

It appears the Empire only uncovered some surface-level changes in the Mechanical Race, without delving deeper.

Chen Ming did not pursue the matter further.

He continued looking at another cannon head.

The change in the other Spine Peak Cannon Head was more peculiar.

From an originally highly structured mechanical design, it transformed into a weapon made of metallic materials yet possessing a unique texture.

The cannon head had no barrel, only several slits resembling shark gills.

The odd appearance was on par with the Slayer’s form.

Chen Ming felt that the Mechanical Race’s weapon designs had a characteristic.

Whenever they had standard mechanical structures, they were normal weapon types.

But once they took on special shapes, like the Slayer’s worm-like with tentacles apex and now this shark gill-like form presented by He Gu, they were Spiritual Weapons.

One normal Spine Peak Cannon Head, one Spiritual Spine Peak Cannon Head.

”Is this the change in the Mechanical Race?”

”There’s more.”
