Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

If these management regulations were truly implemented...

Chen Ming looked up towards Bai Quan, his old superior.

Although the people in the front row didn’t show any change in their movements, even if they had thoughts, they certainly wouldn’t display them.

But the expressions on the faces of those sitting a bit further back were quite unpleasant.

In contrast, some people sitting in other positions were watching the old superior with a gloating look, clearly aware of what these regulations entail.

At this moment, He Gu slightly turned his head and glanced at Chen Ming.

He saw Chen Ming’s serious expression, indicating that Chen Ming already understood the significance of this conference.

In fact, before knowing this conference was to be held, He Gu had already roughly predicted what might happen.

The Fourteenth Legion didn’t have branches before, Bai Quan’s side is considered a new attempt by the legion.

This attempt now seemed to be clearly successful.

Hence, even without the Beinu affair, once Bai Quan further strengthens the Galor branch, the main department would also introduce corresponding regulations,

So the content of this conference appearing is merely a matter of time,

This conference targets not only Beinu but also Bai Quan and their faction.

He Gu thought it necessary to inform Chen Ming about this matter.

But Bai Quan couldn’t make it, and just now wasn’t enough time for Bai Quan to arrange Chen Ming’s entry into the conference hall.

Only by him applying for an extra position in advance could Chen Ming receive the information first-hand, unprocessed by anyone.

The firsthand information allows for considerations and analyses without interference from anyone else.

Although Chen Ming and Bai Quan’s relationship would sooner or later reveal this matter, bringing Chen Ming here early already demonstrated an attitude.

He wants to be on good terms with Chen Ming.

He’s willing to invest in Chen Ming.

He hopes that subsequently, Chen Ming might temporarily join the Spiritual Ability Research Institute due to his goodwill.

Because he genuinely needs Chen Ming’s spiritual energy for tasks, especially concerning the Mechanical Race.

The Mechanical Race, as a heritage from another civilization, inherently possesses numerous devices related to spiritual energy, and recently, mechanized spiritual creatures have emerged.

They are inseparable from spiritual energy, thus their research institute has a specialized section focusing on the Mechanical Race’s spiritual energy properties and spiritual weaponry.

The Mechanical Race war is about to begin.

Chen Ming’s inclusion as a Psychic capable of controlling the Mechanical Race is evidently beneficial for the war.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that Chen Ming can’t operate in his own research institute, but their side can more rapidly propagate the researched results.

Moreover, their Spiritual Ability Research Institute has the support of the entire legion.

The resources they possess are on a different level compared to Chen Ming’s side.

Chen Ming’s institute still needs to apply for things, which requires Bai Quan’s methods.

While there’s indeed some support from the legion, it doesn’t compare to the resource hub that the Spiritual Ability Research Institute inherently serves.

Even if Chen Ming doesn’t want to join the Spiritual Ability Research Institute, a temporary collaboration would also provide significant benefits for both parties,

Therefore, He Gu’s idea is that, at least during the Empire and Mechanical Race’s war, Chen Ming, perhaps even his entire Extraordinary Research Institute, could temporarily relocate to the Spiritual Ability Research Institute.

Of course, his actions did have certain issues.

After all, the Spiritual Ability Research Institute is absolutely neutral and doesn’t engage in any factional conflicts, whether it’s the regulations of the institute or the legion’s rules.

But it’s impossible for the legion and research institute to completely prohibit all researchers from interacting with any faction members.

Even within the institute, researchers often cannot be completely unaffiliated, inevitably getting closer to certain faction members.

Just like how He Gu is actually close to Lou Wei.

Previously, when Lou Wei sought He Gu’s help to ascertain Chen Ming’s spiritual abilities, he promptly came over.

But this doesn’t affect him watching the show later, nor does it affect him befriending Chen Ming, who has conflicts with Lou Wei.

Simultaneously, it doesn’t affect him continuing his work at the institute, unfazed after Lou Wei’s faction falls.

The Fourteenth Legion is a massive legion.

Controlling a Star Realm legion.

The relationships within the legion are inherently complex.

It’s been over ten years, practically a generation, since the reconstruction of the legion.

The interactions between employees of the absolutely neutral Spiritual Ability Research Institute and members of other factions cannot be entirely forbidden.

Of course, participation from lower ranks involves the lower ranks, while the rules still absolutely prohibit invoking the institute’s resources.

And He Gu’s current actions are merely a kind-hearted decision to guide a lost serviceman to the conference hall to attend a report session.

If investigated, he has reasons and justifications.

Anyway, his intent doesn’t involve any faction; his sole desire is for Chen Ming to work at the Spiritual Ability Research Institute.

No matter how penalized he gets, the most it might be is a slight wage deduction.

But for a Psychic, wage deduction is trivial.

That’s why He Gu made this choice.

He brought Chen Ming here.

The report session continued.

The Admiral on stage continued speaking, delving deeper and becoming more complex.

However, Chen Ming, having learned from Bai Quan for a long time, could understand some of the technical terms.

So listening to the later parts, Chen Ming realized there was a slight turning point in the situation.

Because the legion’s intent is to use the Beinu Star Realm as a pilot zone for these management regulations before gradually broadening the applicable scope.
