Chapter 599: Chapter 186: Pre-War Preparations_2

Even if we can’t go straight for an all-in approach, at the very least, the security measures for the developed areas must be top-notch, and all dangers within the star system must be addressed.

Moreover, a large number of fixed observation devices should be installed to nip all threats in the bud.

The Mechanical Race has expanded but hasn’t made sufficient investments in the areas it has developed.

This seems a bit off.

But there’s no reason for the Mechanical Race to treat this place as some sort of trap.

In such a location deep within the rear of the Mechanical Race Star Realm, who could come and cause trouble?

Furthermore, Chen Ming has never intersected with the Mechanical Race, nor could it be said that the Mechanical Race had already predicted Chen Ming would come.

Could it be for some reason that the Mechanical Race delayed the development of this area?

Chen Ming couldn’t think it through, but the task had to be done.

He hadn’t deployed the third batch of asteroids directly just now.

Because within this batch, Chen Ming had placed the husk that the Insect Queen had previously left at the Supreme Point into one of them, naturally layering it with anti-scan material outside.

So, without confirming whether the second batch of asteroids could pass through the Mechanical Race’s defenses smoothly.

Chen Ming couldn’t risk losing the Insect Queen’s irreplaceable husk during her dormant period by recklessly sending the Insect Queen up.

At the very least, he needed to wait for the second batch of asteroids to arrive, for the test results to come out, before attempting further.

So, after confirming that the Mechanical Race indeed hadn’t detected traces of the Insect Queen on the second batch of asteroids.

Chen Ming effortlessly deployed the third batch of asteroids carrying the Insect Queen’s husk.

After a period similar to before, they arrived near the planet, got caught by gravity, and successfully smashed into the surface.

The Mechanical Race remained silent, completely unaware of what was inside the newly fallen meteorites.

As the dust from the crashed meteorite settled back to the ground under gravity.

In the pitted area left behind, only some meteorite fragments scattered and shattered by the impact remained.

The Insect Queen’s husk, though devoid of consciousness, possessed various basic organs for sustaining life and some mobility limbs not aligned with the Insect Queen’s main body.

Therefore, Chen Ming personally controlled this husk to dig underground, hiding deep enough to evade detection, and went into hiding.

This marked the completion of the first step of the preparation work.

The consciousness of the Insect Queen could be transferred to that empty shell at any time with Chen Ming’s assistance.

And Chen Ming could, during the time before the Insect Queen awakens from its cocoon, infuse some energy crystals produced by the Energy Crystal Insects with the Insect Queen’s breeding into the husk.

Once the Insect Queen reshapes, it can immediately start using these energy crystals to breed the New Insect Race.

Although the preparation work proceeded smoothly.

The extent of the smoothness made Chen Ming have to consider whether the Mechanical Race had already noticed but was pretending not to, with some deeper plot he couldn’t comprehend.

Moreover, throughout the entire process of throwing the asteroids, Chen Ming was pondering whether the Mechanical Race’s space defense was truly so weak?

Therefore, Chen Ming pushed the remaining few asteroids he hadn’t deployed earlier toward the vicinity of the Mechanical Race’s city on the planet instead of intentionally avoiding the city.

Since the Mechanical Race couldn’t even detect the Insect Queen, and the Insect Queen successfully landed, Chen Ming didn’t mind doing something riskier.

And this time, Chen Ming finally saw the Mechanical Race taking action.

However, it wasn’t from the ground but the orbital defense systems in space.

Those modular large satellites suddenly began to transform, gradually expanding and aligning all the internal equipment into their proper positions.

It was visible that the satellites were evenly distributed with various large solid bullet weapons, large energy weapons, and large missile weapons.

The arrangement density was even higher than a Pirate Space Station of similar scale, with terrifying firepower.

Each satellite could be considered a small war fortress.

Moreover, on the side of these extended satellites facing outward, a flat shield, different from the usual spherical shields of ships, gradually expanded.

This flat shield linked with others on the same orbit, unfolding alongside other threats in orbit.

This orbital defense system was essentially a Sigh-of-Relief Wall completely blocking invaders outside.

Of course, that would be the case when fully constructed.

Currently, this wall only blocked one-fifth of the area near the planet’s equator, unable to protect the entire planet.

Which is why Chen Ming managed to throw the Insect Queen’s husk onto the planet without the Mechanical Race detecting it.

At least this made it clear that a direct frontal assault on the Mechanical Race’s city was bound to cause big problems.

The deployed orbital defense systems quickly and utterly obliterated those asteroids and gradually retracted.

And this scene made Chen Ming frown even more because the Mechanical Race didn’t seem to care about energy consumption.

Furthermore, the timing of the orbital defense system’s deployment coincided with when the few asteroids Chen Ming launched were positioned between the third and fourth planets from inside the star system.

The third planet being the Mechanical Race’s planet.

This indicates that they indeed have the capability to detect the first two batches of asteroids, but they didn’t react because the orbital points of the asteroids weren’t within the city.

This leaves Chen Ming even more baffled about the state of the Mechanical Race’s city.
