Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 563: Chapter 179: Yan Xiong’s Application Method_2

Even though he had already learned the general situation from Bai Quan earlier, hearing it again wouldn’t hurt.

The director cleared his throat and recounted the entire event in detail.

After all, the Space Station had taken quite some time to reach a conclusion.

So the final information obtained being more detailed than what Bai Quan had explained to Chen Ming was quite normal.

The director even covered the period from when the now-former director arrived at the Space Station, up to when he took advantage of the chaos to leave, only to be brought back by Chen Ming.

All his non-compliant, illegal activities were thoroughly investigated, with the timing of each incident pinpointed to the hour.

Of course, Chen Ming didn’t care about his other activities at all.

If the guy hadn’t provoked the director and himself, he wouldn’t have paid any attention.

So it was only the part about the director’s cooperation with the Battle Zone that Chen Ming listened to closely.

But it wasn’t much different from what Bai Quan had told him earlier.

It was also clear from the director’s conversation with Chen Ming that Chen Ming was looking drowsy and uninterested.

Then he suddenly said, ”Besides, earlier we captured two Zuo Jing members on the Space Station, they didn’t dare to self-destruct, their beliefs weren’t that firm.”

”We interrogated these two and found out the location of a Zuo Jing base, and based on the former director’s communication records, we can verify the interrogation results are accurate.”

”It’s an independent Space Station, just like the Mining Space Station you once stayed at, which has been infiltrated and controlled by Zuo Jing.”

”Bounty has been released, and the Space Station is completely sealed, just waiting for someone to handle it.”

”But it seems there’s no movement from the Fourteenth Legion.”

”Oh?”

When the director brought this up, Chen Ming was no longer sleepy.

Money is never unwelcome.

Gamma B is currently roaming the Gallo Star Realm, hunting pirates.

Now that there’s a cult appearing nearby.

For Chen Ming, as long as there’s a bounty, cults and pirates are all the same.

Although the target is a Space Station.

However, a Mining Space Station of this size doesn’t possess Cruiser Level shields and large weapons like the Pirate Space Station here.

Chen Ming wasn’t afraid at all.

But there was one thing he needed to confirm: ”How much is the bounty for these Zuo Jing members?”

”The bounty for the Zuo Jing leader alone is 500 million, offered by the Fourteenth Legion and the government, given that a Mining Space Station’s scale is substantial.”

”The rest of the scattered Zuo Jing members on the Space Station should add up to another 500 million.”

Chen Ming recalled the situation of the Mining Space Station in his mind and said, ”It seems a bit low compared to the damage these Zuo Jing members have caused.”

”Even Mining Space Stations from thirty years ago would need at least ten billion for development and construction, wouldn’t they?”

The director considered for a moment and said, ”Hmm... more or less.”

”But that’s the original price; with depreciation, the Space Station isn’t worth that much, getting it at half is very normal.”

”These ten billion already account for 20% of the depreciated 50 billion, which is quite good.”

Chen Ming thought about it and agreed.

If the bounty for these terrorists exceeded the value of the Space Station they occupied, then that would be quite outrageous.

Just as Chen Ming was about to continue asking about the specific details of the bounty targets, the director suddenly added, ”However.”

”That Space Station is a Plant Research Station used to test the special effects of stellar radiation on the vegetation of habitable planets.”

”The ’Harmony Plant Research Institute Company’ behind the Space Station has added a conditional bounty.”

”As long as the main structure of the Space Station hasn’t suffered damage exceeding 10% of its scale, an additional 300 million will be paid, and a special appraisal company will be responsible for determining the damage.”

”If the research results above are preserved, an additional 500 million will be offered, and if the kidnapped researchers are rescued, the number and identities of the researchers will result in additional rewards.”

”You can handle it as you see fit.”

Chen Ming lowered his head to think for a moment and said, ”But since it’s a public bounty, I won’t be the only one going, right? These additional conditions might be hard to meet, don’t you think?”

The director quickly provided a convincing answer.

”It depends on luck.”

”After all, first come, first serve. If you take down the Space Station first and achieve the additional targets with recorded evidence, even if something goes wrong later, they still have to pay.”

”If you arrive later, cooperation is generally prioritized, but if necessary...”

The director didn’t continue, but Chen Ming understood the implication.

”At such times, if you achieve the goals, it’s best to contact the company directly, and then have your ship wait there until people come to take over.”

”The company will surely handle the subsequent matters for you, and you won’t need to personally claim the bounty.”

”Of course, the former situation is the same. You can contact them, and since their company is willing to offer an additional bounty, they would also be willing to personally handle these Zuo Jing members, just leave it to them.”

”If they’re willing to pay, why not deploy their fleet for the job?”

”Uh... don’t you think fleet deployment is cheap?”

”For a Space Station of this scale, typically it requires seven or eight destroyers and at least twenty to thirty guards, at the minimum.”
