Chapter 587: Chapter 183 The 2nd Cocooning of the Insect Queen_2

But he didn’t have a stable source of Sky Steel, so he could only choose to buy it at a high price.

Although Chen Ming could rely on his relationship with the factory manager to buy from Sinda Corporation, the company is currently mainly focused on the mining Space Station matter.

They need to rebuild the Mining Space Station at a new location to facilitate subsequent development of Sky Steel.

So, for now, Sinda Corporation can only collect a small amount of Sky Steel with some mining ships, not even enough for their own use, let alone to spare for partners.

Chen Ming definitely wouldn’t get a share.

So, in a situation where a large part of his expenses had to be used to buy Sky Steel.

Chen Ming wondered, if he could feed the void fish to the Insect Race, would there be any unique output or effect?

But the void fish are somewhat tricky to deal with.

Currently, Chen Ming only knows of two places where void fish exist.

One is in that Star System managed by the company where the Mining Space Station is located.

The other is over at Dusk.

When Dusk once raided the Star Zone military outpost, they captured several void fish.

Chen Ming knows which Star System Dusk sent the void fish to, but extracting them won’t be easy.

So regarding the void fish, Chen Ming still needs to think it over.

The ideas of Energy Crystal Crabs and void fish are good, but neither are battle types, so for the Insect Race, which most needs battle abilities, there won’t be much enhancement.

However, Chen Ming has never seen powerful combat creatures in person.

The only powerful creature he has personally seen is that black Insect Race creature in the Insect Race genes, resembling a mammoth.

Of course, not having seen powerful creatures doesn’t mean Chen Ming doesn’t know of their existence.

Because when he studied biology, he learned about several ecological protection zones or ecological protection planets within the Empire.

These planets, discovered during the Empire’s exploration era, were found to have unique creatures, with some being used as examples in the Empire’s biology textbooks.

These unique creatures, worthy of special protection, each have their distinctive features.

For example, Chen Ming knows of a type of giant butterfly living in the atmosphere, possessing the ability to generate auroras on a large scale.

This keeps the entire planet enveloped in auroras all year round, creating a stunning environment.

So, apart from being an ecological protection planet, it is also a popular tourist destination.

Although these butterflies on the planet appear unrelated to combat power.

The biology textbooks only provide a simple introduction to this species, without stating they have aggressiveness or strong combat abilities.

But upon closer examination, inconsistencies become apparent.

The reason for the auroras is the ionization reaction caused by charged particle streams entering the planet’s magnetic field, producing plasma light.

That is, like the plasma burst propulsion and plasma weaponization phenomenon in the Brilliant Level.

So, these aurora butterflies might actually possess the terrifying ability to manipulate powerful charged particle streams, or even control plasma.

Yet in the Empire, they have become animals in the zoo for people to admire.

But if their genes could be assimilated by the Insect Race, what kind of evolution could they undergo?

This is just one unique creature that Chen Ming has come to understand.

And within the Empire, there are many more of such ecological protection planets with more unique powerful creatures.

So Chen Ming’s current plan is to first feed a few Energy Crystal Crabs to the Insect Queen to see the effect.

And he did just that, as it wasn’t difficult to send the Energy Crystal Crabs from the temporary base to the Insect Queen.

Once confirming the Energy Crystal Crabs have sufficient effect or the Insect Queen shows some potential, he will then find a way to get some other interesting creatures over.

Of course, through legitimate means, as poaching is not condoned within the Prosperous Star Realm.

Even as Chen Ming’s fleet visited the Space Station, which was held hostage by Zuo Jing,

Chen Ming also had ideas about feeding the fungal psionic organism he recently acquired to the Insect Race.

But first, he has to wait for the Insect Queen’s performance and look at the progress on the Extraordinary side.

To see what kind of research Extraordinary can come up with.

To determine whether it’s more valuable to cultivate the fungus itself or to feed it to the Insect Queen.

However, just after Chen Ming recorded the past week’s events.

He suddenly received news from the Insect Queen.

The Insect Queen had cocooned.

Chen Ming immediately took control of an insect inside the Insect Queen’s nest via the Insect Race hive mind network.

He went to the Insect Queen’s biological ship, which no longer needed to be buried underground, directly building a nest on the surface.

The Insect Queen had eaten the Energy Crystal Crabs a few days ago, and now it was finally starting to cocoon.

When Chen Ming observed the appearance of the Insect Queen through the Insect Race’s compound eyes and hive mind network,

it looked the same as before, with the entire biological ship wrapped in growths.

Getting close to the cocoon, one could hear the heavy and sluggish heartbeat of the biological ship inside the cocoon.

Chen Ming specifically had Supreme Point return to the Insect Queen’s side, which had started paving superspace channels all over the place recently, to scan the cocoon.

The result was the same as last time; the growths forming the cocoon resisted Supreme Point’s scanning. Besides a glimpse of the biomass spaceship’s shell, beyond that point, it was pitch black.

And it was precisely this pitch blackness that added a touch of anticipation in Chen Ming’s heart.
