Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 592: Chapter 184: The Process of Exploration_3

After all, the past week, Chen Ming mainly focused on studying and managing issues related to the Insect Queen, naturally paying less attention to other matters.

However, over at Brilliant, exploration of the surrounding star systems has never ceased.

In the past week, they also discovered two habitable planets and seven or eight planets with open-pit veins or other resources.

Chen Ming could clearly feel that as the range of exploration expanded, the number of valuable star systems and planets increased.

It’s just that the things there remained the same, not worth much of Chen Ming’s investment.

The habitable planets were still visited once, capturing some creatures to feed to the Insect Queen.

On resource planets, leaving some simple development equipment and a few Dusk individuals to collect resources was enough.

Apart from recording the star systems, the equipment, and the number of Dusk individuals there.

There was really nothing else to do.

Chen Ming soon turned off the terminal and lay down on the bed.

A week’s work passed in the blink of an eye.

It was again time for Chen Ming’s weekly record.

The past week was the same as the last, everything proceeding as usual and orderly.

So, naturally, Chen Ming also began recording the important events of the past week, the exploration progress, and the learning progress in an orderly manner.

This week’s important event was the Insect Queen, almost overturning the situation, using the highly corrosive blood evolved after being infected by fungi to kill the spiritual creatures inside it that were devoured by spiritual fungi.

It entered the evolutionary cocoon again.

At this point, Chen Ming understood why the Insect Queen insisted on him feeding it live spiritual fungi before.

Because being parasitized by fungi is considered a battle in a sense.

Only the battlefield was inside the Insect Queen itself.

And in this battle, the Insect Queen evolved highly corrosive blood, specifically targeting the fungi parasitizing it, ultimately achieving victory.

This time, the cocooning process of the Insect Queen seems longer than before.

Anyway, the Insect Queen cocooned three days ago and still hasn’t reacted until today.

But since Chen Ming didn’t have to worry about the safety of the Insect Queen, he actually hoped that the cocooning process would be longer this time.

Based on Chen Ming’s understanding of the Insect Queen during this time, the longer the cocooning process, the greater the degree of evolution, and the stronger the evolved abilities.

Chen Ming recorded the situation of the Insect Queen this week, and before starting to record the exploration progress of this week.

He had another important matter to record.

Today during class with Bai Quan.

Bai Quan suddenly sent an invitation to Chen Ming, his Vice Admiral promotion ceremony invitation.

This counts as a formal invitation and is a legitimate process that must be followed.

The promotion ceremony would begin in a month, giving everyone invited ample time.

Although Chen Ming wouldn’t attend nor could he, at the time, he still curiously said, ”I thought such formal conferment ceremonies mostly invited people with status and position.”

”The Fourteenth Legion is not an orthodox Empire-direct military force, but an independent legion, so some rules are different from the military.”

”Moreover, after the ceremony, there’s a banquet, which is essentially a social occasion.”

With Bai Quan’s response, Chen Ming didn’t say much more.

Anyway, the promotion ceremony had little to do with him.

He already received the benefits from Bai Quan, and the credit was Bai Quan’s, having nothing to do with Chen Ming technically.

Moreover, it was already almost a month; Bai Quan had approved most things that needed approving.

The Stardust Level was already on its way to the boss with the Artificial Enlightenment Nerve.

Before long, Chen Ming would receive a new cruiser, capable of maximizing his spiritual energy combat power, as well as a nerve that could enhance his spiritual power even further.

Of course, this didn’t affect Chen Ming; during the day, he still studied routinely.

By night, when approaching rest, he also recorded as per usual.

Anyway, he just did what he had to do.

Recording what needed to be recorded.

Chen Ming just noted this incident casually since Bai Quan would definitely be busy during those days, and his learning schedule might change a bit during that time.

Recording ahead of time so that he wouldn’t be flustered when the day arrived.

These were the two important matters worth recording.

Next, it was time to record the progress in exploration over the past week.

In the past week, Dusk individuals had explored over a hundred seventy light-years around, which was faster than Chen Ming expected.

For every valuable planet, Chen Ming would visit it on the Supreme Point.

Taking away creatures, leaving Dusk, transmitting data back.

While extracting some easily accessible resources.

Doing repetitive tasks over and over again, the initial excitement faded, and Chen Ming gradually began to feel bored.

It was only when discovering new species on a planet, temporarily keeping them to feed the Insect Queen later.

Then guessing what traits the Insect Queen might display and what abilities it might have that brought a bit of joy to Chen Ming.

In terms of learning, it was the same as last week.

Everything proceeding systematically, without too much progress, and the pace wasn’t fast.

There wasn’t much worth recording; Chen Ming just wrote casually and lay down on the bed.

This week was indeed a peaceful one.

Time runs like a wild donkey; once it starts, it doesn’t stop.

Another week passed amid Chen Ming’s daily repetitive study processes.
