Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 193: Chapter 158: A Seeming Issue, the Experiment Continues

Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly. ”I’ll go find Wang Feng. You continue the experiment!”

”Alright, I’ll leave it to you then, Leader!” Hua Lingfang replied, then went back to his experiment.

Ren Yuanyang waved his hand and turned to leave.

When he reached Wang Feng, Ren Yuanyang found him inspecting the beehives.

Wang Feng saw Ren Yuanyang at once. He immediately put down what he was doing, walked over, and greeted him, ”Leader, you’re here. Is there something you need?”

”Yes. Has the honey production started? We need some for an experiment!” Ren Yuanyang got straight to the point.

Wang Feng nodded immediately. ”Yes, we have some, but not much yet!”

”It’s just a small-batch experiment for now, so we shouldn’t need a lot. Get some ready for me, and I’ll come get it in a bit!” Ren Yuanyang replied.

”Alright!” Wang Feng responded.

”Are the colonies healthy?” Ren Yuanyang asked casually.

”Very healthy. The nectar sources are abundant now, and the queen has started laying eggs. We’ll have to split the hives soon!” Wang Feng was incredibly excited. Seeing the queen reproduce made him feel like he’d just gained a bunch of grandchildren!

”Okay, you can get back to it then. I’ll be back for the honey later, don’t forget!” Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly.

”Alright, give me ten minutes!” Wang Feng immediately started to harvest the honey.

Hearing that it would only take ten minutes, Ren Yuanyang, who had been about to leave, stopped and simply sat down to the side to wait.

”Leader? What are you doing here?” a surprised voice came from the side.

Ren Yuanyang turned his head and saw Jianghu walking over.

”I’m here to get some honey from Wang Feng,” Ren Yuanyang explained simply.

A look of understanding dawned on Jianghu’s face, and he moved closer. ”Leader, you see, I don’t have a fixed job, and I feel like I’m not earning my keep. How about you arrange some work for me?”

”Aren’t you helping out all over the place? That already counts as work!” Ren Yuanyang replied, raising an eyebrow slightly.

”Helping out here and there makes me feel like I’m just doing odd jobs. What I mean is, is there any kind of permanent job?” Jianghu continued to explain.

Ren Yuanyang paused for a moment, then said with a smile, ”Evolvers are a base’s trump card. It’s true they’re a bit idle during normal times, but when danger comes, Evolvers have to be the first to charge to the front lines!”

Jianghu froze for a second, then nodded.

”Besides helping out, you should also use your Superpower as much as possible to continuously increase your Mental Energy and your control over it!” Ren Yuanyang continued. ”For example, you can practice forming different Water Arrows, Water Shields, or Water Dragons. All of these will make your Water-Type Superpower’s attacks stronger!”

Jianghu froze again, looking thoughtful. Soon, he lifted his head. ”I understand now. Thank you, Leader. I know what I need to do!”

Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly.

Just then, Wang Feng walked over, carrying a slab of honeycomb.

”Leader, will this be enough?”

Ren Yuanyang took it. ”I’ll take this to the lab first. If it’s not enough, I’ll let you know!”

”Alright!” Wang Feng had only harvested the honey from one of the beehives. He was actually a bit reluctant, as the bees had been starving for a long time before, and he wanted to leave more for them and the queen.

Ren Yuanyang returned to the lab with the honeycomb and asked, ”Elder Hua, do you think this is enough honey?”

Hua Lingfang turned, saw the large slab of honeycomb on the table, and replied, ”It should be about right. This is just a small-batch experiment, so we don’t need too much!”

Ren Yuanyang nodded and immediately joined in the experiment.

By this time, thirty bamboo houses had been built on the outskirts of the Peach Blossom Base. Everyone from the yacht had their own room, and there were even a few larger bamboo houses left over to be used as meeting rooms or reception rooms.

With the help of a Gold-Type Evolver like Jin Ziyu, and under Hua Lingfang’s guidance, everyone worked together, and the construction progressed quite quickly.

Looking at the small home that was now theirs alone, someone couldn’t help but ask, ”Sister Qin, does this mean we’ve officially joined the Peach Blossom Base now?”

Si Youqin smiled and asked in return, ”Did you ever think you weren’t a member of the Peach Blossom Base?”

”No, that’s not it. It’s just that before, we only entered the Banyan Forest when it was time to work, and then we had to go back to the yacht to rest. I always felt like I was drifting on the sea, without a place to call home,” the person said with a wry smile, shaking their head.

The others felt the same way.

Si Youqin nodded slightly. ”Well, now you have your own houses. The Peach Blossom Base is your home!”

Everyone nodded excitedly.

”Alright, everyone go and settle into your rooms. Then you can start preparing dinner!” Si Youqin clapped her hands and gave instructions.

”Yes!” everyone answered in unison.

Soon, it was dinnertime. Xin Wan finished making dinner and asked Lu Jiamei to call Ren Yuanyang and Hua Lingfang to eat.

But unexpectedly, Lu Jiamei returned quickly and said with some resignation, ”Let’s keep the Leader’s and Elder Hua’s food warm. They probably won’t be eating for a while!”

”Is the experiment that intense? They don’t even have time to eat?” Xin Wan asked curiously.

”I don’t know about that, but they both looked really busy!” Lu Jiamei shrugged. ”Let’s eat first. After we finish, we can see if we can go over and relieve them!”

Xin Wan nodded. They quickly finished their dinner and then headed toward the lab together.

Before they even entered the lab, they heard Hua Lingfang’s excited voice.

”Leader, this evolved licorice really works! The lab mice injected with the Evolution Potion before never lasted five hours!”

Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly, equally pleased. ”Let’s keep observing. If these lab mice don’t die, then we can basically confirm it’s a success!”

Lu Jiamei and the others knocked on the door. Ren Yuanyang turned, saw it was them, and called out, ”Come on in!”

Qin Haonan walked into the lab and immediately asked, ”Did the Evolution Potion really succeed?”

”We can’t be sure yet, but the effect of this licorice is indeed very good!” Ren Yuanyang replied.

Hua Lingfang added, ”Although the effect is significant in these lab mice, we still need to test it on humans!”

”Don’t worry about that. I believe the Aircraft Carrier Base should still have some prisoners from Lvzhi Country. We can just have the Aircraft Carrier Base test it then!” Ren Yuanyang had already thought of this.

”So, can you two go eat dinner now?” Lu Jiamei interrupted their continued discussion about the Evolution Potion.

Ren Yuanyang paused for a moment, then smiled and nodded. ”You know, I actually am a little hungry!”

”Then you two go eat. Haonan and I will watch things here!” Lu Jiamei replied.

”Okay. Be sure to keep a close eye on the lab mice that were injected with the Evolution Potion. They might have become very powerful. If they show any signs of breaking the cages, electrocute them immediately!” Ren Yuanyang warned.

”No problem. A few little mice won’t escape my grasp!” Qin Haonan declared confidently.

”Alright, Elder Hua and I will go eat first then!” Ren Yuanyang and Hua Lingfang walked toward the shipping containers.

Xin Wan had already gone back a little earlier to reheat their dinner and had placed it on the table.

”Elder Hua, you should eat more. You’ve been busy for several hours!” Ren Yuanyang said with a smile.

For the past few hours, Hua Lingfang hadn’t had a moment’s rest. He had been drying, processing, and decocting, constantly preparing Licorice Decoctions in various forms and concentrations.

Hua Lingfang smiled and shook his head. ”This isn’t exactly hard labor. It was busy, but still relatively easy!”

”It’s a good thing you understand traditional Chinese medicine. Otherwise, who knows when we would have developed the Evolution Potion!” Ren Yuanyang remarked.

Hua Lingfang shook his head again. ”The Leader’s ability is more important. If you couldn’t make that licorice evolve, it would be impossible to achieve this effect! Even without me, as long as we cooperate with the Aircraft Carrier Base, it would still be easy to develop this Evolution Potion!”

”I wouldn’t be so sure!” Ren Yuanyang shook his head slightly. ”The researchers at the Aircraft Carrier Base don’t necessarily understand traditional Chinese medicine, and they most likely wouldn’t approve of it either!”

Hua Lingfang paused for a moment, then nodded with a hint of resignation.

’What Ren Yuanyang said was indeed very likely.’

After finishing dinner, the two of them returned to the lab.

”You all should go rest. Elder Hua and I can watch things here,” Ren Yuanyang said to Lu Jiamei and the others.

”Leader, does the lab need someone on duty at night?” Lu Jiamei asked immediately. ”We can help!”
