Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 180: Chapter 152: Suggestion and Reward, Encirclement Complete

After a moment’s thought, Ren Yuanyang gave his instructions. ”Ziyu, connect your phone to the projector. You can all start monitoring the regional channel. If you see any important information, record it and report it to either Ziyu or me!”

”Yes, Leader!” Jin Ziyu immediately replied.

”Don’t forget the basic rules!” Ren Yuanyang reminded them again.

”Don’t worry, Leader. Peach Blossom Base is the only place where I can eat my fill. I will never do anything to harm the base, and I won’t let anyone else do so either!” Jin Ziyu’s tone was incredibly earnest and solemn.

Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly and turned to leave.

”Lin Mu, come with me!”

Hearing Ren Yuanyang’s call, Lin Mu immediately quickened his pace and followed.

Jianghu and Wang Feng naturally followed them out.

Jin Ziyu quickly connected her phone to the projector, and the regional channel once again filled the large screen.

”This is wonderful! Now we can know what’s happening outside at all times!”

”Yeah, our leader is the best! I’d follow him forever!”

”Me too!”

None of Si Youqin’s group went back to their bedrooms to rest. They all sat in the yacht’s lounge. Some even brought out their blankets, ready to sleep right on the couches!

They were just that desperate to know what was going on outside!

Jin Ziyu yawned, took her phone, and walked toward her room. As long as she didn’t leave the yacht, the phone wouldn’t disconnect from the projector.

Of course, it wouldn’t have been a problem even if she had left the phone in the lounge. After its mutation, only the owner could operate the mysterious software on the phone. Even if Si Youqin and the others got their hands on Jin Ziyu’s phone, they wouldn’t be able to use it.

While Si Youqin and the others were watching the regional channel, Ren Yuanyang took Lin Mu to test out his recent proposal.

It had to be said, Lin Mu’s professional knowledge of plants was incredibly solid. He knew the ideal planting depths for all sorts of crops like the back of his hand!

Ren Yuanyang adjusted the depth of the net woven from the bitter grass’s creeping stems according to the seeds’ planting depth.

There was a large amount of bitter grass beneath the Banyan Forest of Peach Blossom Base, so Ren Yuanyang easily wove a net and secured it at the desired depth.

Finally, he covered the planting space with Round Duckweed as well.

”This idea of yours is highly viable. Proceed with this for now. If we run into any problems later, we’ll make adjustments!” Ren Yuanyang said after finishing the task.

”Yes, Leader!” Lin Mu responded respectfully.

”Alright, you get some rest too,” Ren Yuanyang said with a wave, then walked deeper into the Banyan Forest.

Lin Mu checked on the planting space one more time before heading toward the western edge of the Banyan Forest.

Before he reached his bamboo house, Lin Mu saw from a distance Jianghu and Wang Feng sitting in front of his door, chatting idly.

”Why are you two not asleep yet!” Lin Mu walked over and asked.

”Too excited to sleep!” Jianghu exclaimed. ”Choosing to escape Dawn Base with you was absolutely the right call. This place is paradise!”

Lin Mu nodded. ”Yeah, I really didn’t expect Peach Blossom Base to be this strong. Let’s go inside and talk!”

With a word of invitation, Lin Mu opened the door to his bamboo house. Jianghu and Wang Feng didn’t hesitate and followed him straight inside.

”Just find a place to sit,” Lin Mu said, taking two sodas from the reward he’d just received and handing them to Jianghu and Wang Feng.

”Minister Lin, this is too much!” Jianghu said, but his hands moved quickly, taking both sodas and passing one to Wang Feng.

”Oh, I... I’m fine!” Wang Feng said, hastily waving his hands in refusal.

Lin Mu shot Jianghu a look, then said to Wang Feng, ”Go on, take it. We can drink while we talk.”

Wang Feng hesitated for a moment, but still took it. ”Thank you, Minister Lin!”

Jianghu opened his soda and took a long swig.

”Ah, that hits the spot!” Jianghu savored the taste. ”I can’t even remember the last time I had a soda!”

”Forget soda, I haven’t had a stir-fried meal in ages!” Wang Feng lamented.

”Yeah. I hope our base can continue to develop and prosper for a long time,” Lin Mu agreed with a nod.

”I don’t think it’ll be a problem. After all, we’re in the Seventh-level Wind Sea Region. Other bases wouldn’t even think of coming in here, and they wouldn’t dare to!” Jianghu said, quite confident.

Lin Mu shook his head. ”Theoretically, that’s true. But what if we’re discovered by a ship that wanders into the Seventh-level Wind Sea Region by mistake? The Banyan Forest will be exposed. And once the Banyan Forest is exposed, it’s guaranteed to attract hordes of survivors, including those other bases!”

Jianghu froze for a second, then nodded and laughed. ”So, does that mean we should be thanking that squad from the Magpie Country? At least for now, they’re drawing all the fire away from our Peach Blossom Base!”

”You could say that!” Lin Mu replied with a smile.

”I wonder how that Magpie Country team is doing now?” Jianghu muttered. He really wanted a phone to check the regional channel for news about the Magpie Country fleet.

”I’d like to know too, but we’ll have to wait until breakfast tomorrow and ask on the yacht,” Lin Mu said with a helpless shrug.

Just as they were wondering about the Magpie Country fleet, the Dragon Kingdom United Fleet was already massing near the Han Jin Association Fleet.

This United Fleet even specially created a group chat to discuss joint affairs.

”We’re all assembled, and they’ve already spotted us. A sneak attack is out of the question, so let’s just hit them with everything we’ve got and start the fight!”

”No, we need to plan this properly! We have to decide on tactics and coordinate our attack!”

”I say we forget it. We just formed this alliance; we don’t know each other’s capabilities. There’s no way we can pull off any decent coordination. Trying to get fancy will just get us all killed!”

”We might as well just rush them all at once! A flurry of wild punches can take down a master!”

”Exactly. No matter how strong they are, they only have five large ships. We have twenty-three. There’s no way they can hold out!”

”I want to remind everyone again: when we take down Peach Blossom Base, those Evolutionary Plants are to be considered common property. No single person or faction can take them all for themselves!”

”We already agreed on that, didn’t we? No need to keep repeating it. Let’s begin!”

”Alright!”

After a brief discussion, the United Fleet immediately moved to surround the five large ships!

Meanwhile, the Han Jin Association Fleet had already begun tense preparations. On their five large ships, several cannons were being rolled out!

”Chairman, can our fifty cannons really hold off those large ships from the Dragon Country?” an advisor asked worriedly from the side.

Park Yiye replied with a smile, ”It won’t be a problem. We have plenty of ammunition, and it’s not a given that they have heavy weapons like these!”

”Report! The enemy vessels are moving toward us!” a crewman burst in frantically.

”Don’t panic!” Park Yiye commanded in a firm voice.

The crewman froze for a second, then composed himself.

”Hold fire on the cannons for now. Let them surround us. We’ll adjust our formation—move the small boats to the interior, with the large ships circling on the outside!” Park Yiye issued his orders methodically.

”Yes, sir!”

The Han Jin Association showed no significant reaction, which left the Dragon Kingdom United Fleet a bit confused about their opponent’s situation.

”What’s going on? Why aren’t they reacting at all?”

”Yeah, just closing in on them like this... I have a bad feeling about it.”

”In the past, whenever something was up with Peach Blossom Base, they’d make a big announcement on the regional channel. Why are they so quiet this time?”

”Could it be that these five large ships really aren’t Peach Blossom Base?”

”Impossible. If they weren’t Peach Blossom Base, they would have denied it long ago. Why would they wait until now?”

”Exactly. The other bases have no resources to speak of. If they had just said something, we wouldn’t have come all this way in such force!”

”I heard Peach Blossom Base has some kind of weapons made from evolved plants. Everyone be careful!”

”Plant weapons are easy to defend against. Just stay under cover! There’s no way plant weapons can damage a steel-hulled ship!”

”That’s right. There’s no need to build up the myth of Peach Blossom Base’s weapons.”

”Now that you put it that way, I feel a lot more relieved!”

The Han Jin Association Fleet maintained a completely defensive posture, making no other moves. The Dragon Kingdom United Fleet easily surrounded them.

The encirclement slowly tightened, and the Dragon Kingdom United Fleet began to hail them over a loudspeaker.

”Listen up, people of Peach Blossom Base! We’ve brought a total of twenty-three large ships. Do you really think you have any chance of breaking our encirclement? Just surrender obediently. We’re all compatriots; we don’t want to resort to arms against you!”
