Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 173: Chapter 149: Not Peach Blossom Spring, They Don’t Believe (Part 2)

”I saw it. Captain Wang sent me a message too. I’ll reply to him first,” Ren Yuanyang responded.

”Alright!”

Seeing that Ren Yuanyang was taking a while to respond, Wang Jun had to ask again, ”Is your base really at that location?”

”They didn’t find our base. However, I’m quite curious about the base they did find. I’ll have to go take a look when I get the chance!” Ren Yuanyang replied immediately.

”It’s really not? If it is, we can arrange for support teams to head over and help you block off teams from other bases,” Wang Jun confirmed again.

”Thank you for the kind offer, Captain Wang, but that is definitely not our base!” Ren Yuanyang replied with unusual certainty.

”Alright, if it’s not, then there’s no problem. How’s the progress on the Evolution Potion over there?” Wang Jun asked casually.

”It’s still in testing, but we’ve already had some success. Just wait a little longer,” Ren Yuanyang replied.

Hearing this, Wang Jun was stunned. He hadn’t expected Peach Blossom Base to have actually made progress!

”That’s great! If you don’t have enough lab supplies, just let us know. We can provide them anytime!” Wang Jun said, a little excited.

”If I need them, I’ll contact you,” Ren Yuanyang replied.

”Great, it’s a deal!”

After finishing his chat with Ren Yuanyang, Wang Jun excitedly announced in the captain’s group chat: ”That’s not Peach Blossom Base, and they’ve made progress on the Evolution Potion!”

”What! It’s not Peach Blossom Base?” Ji Yizhi found it incredible. ”Could he be lying to you?”

”There’s no need for him to. Since the location has already been exposed, it makes no sense for him to be so secretive with us,” Wang Jun said, shaking his head.

Long Zhan immediately burst out laughing. ”Hahaha, a bet’s a bet! You can’t back out of it now!”

”Don’t worry! I can afford to lose!” Ji Yizhi retorted. ”I just feel like something’s not right. Was Dawn Base misled by someone?”

”Who misled them has nothing to do with us. We should be more focused on what Old Wang said about the Evolution Potion!” Long Zhan didn’t care about Dawn Base at all.

Ji Yizhi immediately caught on. ”Has Peach Blossom Base really made progress on the Evolution Potion research?”

”According to Taoyuan Yang, they’ve had some success, but he didn’t go into detail,” Wang Jun replied.

”Is Peach Blossom Base’s research capability really that strong?” Ji Yizhi found it hard to believe.

”Peach Blossom Base has always been strong. You just weren’t willing to admit it,” Long Zhan added.

Ji Yizhi was slightly taken aback, then nodded. He had always believed in his heart that the Aircraft Carrier Base was the strongest base in Dragon Country. He tended to look down on all other bases.

But now it seemed Peach Blossom Base was no weaker than them!

While the three captains of the Aircraft Carrier Base were discussing, Ren Yuanyang had already posted a warning in the regional channel.

”Was just taking a nap and didn’t realize Dawn Base was stirring up trouble again. Those five large ships are not Peach Blossom Base. Don’t listen to their nonsense. I suggest everyone hold off on going over there for now. If you’re really determined to go, at least wait until our base has investigated and confirmed it’s safe!”

”The big boss has spoken! That place isn’t Peach Blossom Base. Those of you who were about to head out should probably wait a bit!”

”Last time, Peach Blossom Base confirmed the location Dawn Base mentioned, but it turned out to be wrong. This time, Peach Blossom Base is denying it. Could that mean it’s actually true?”

”Hey, guy above, are you stupid? If it were really them, why would Peach Blossom Base need to go investigate? Are they going to investigate themselves?”

”You never know. Maybe they’re just trying to stall for time.”

Seeing this, Ren Yuanyang was a bit speechless. ”Whatever. Go ahead, all of you! Just don’t come crying to Peach Blossom Base when you run into danger!”

”I’m already on my way, but I trust Peach Blossom Base. I’ll be careful! I’ll just be the first one to scout out that unknown base!”

”The guy above is gutsy! We’re waiting for your good news!”

”I want to go too. I won’t be satisfied until I see it with my own eyes!”

”If you want to go, go. No one’s stopping you!”

The people from Dawn Base could naturally see the messages in the regional channel as well. When their captain saw Ren Yuanyang’s reply, his brow furrowed.

”Could it be that those five large ships really aren’t Peach Blossom Base?”

The strategist thought for a moment before replying, ”I think it is. Peach Blossom Base is probably saying that on purpose to stall for time and slow down the other bases from forming an alliance.”

If it wasn’t Peach Blossom Base, the other bases would have much less incentive to team up. After all, attacking a base with few resources wouldn’t be worth the cost. The gains wouldn’t offset the losses.

But if it was Peach Blossom Base, that would be a different story. They were rich in resources. If several bases joined forces to take them down, the rewards would be enormous!

The captain nodded slightly. ”Let’s hope the other bases can figure that out.”

”What about us?” the strategist asked.

”We proceed toward them as planned. Our position has been exposed anyway. If we stay put, we’ll just be harassed by other survivor groups. By moving that way, perhaps we can play the fisherman and reap the rewards!” the captain replied grimly.

”Yes, sir!”

At Peach Blossom Base, Qin Haonan came to Ren Yuanyang and asked, ”Chief, should I head over there now? It doesn’t seem to be too far!”

He had already seen Ren Yuanyang’s message in the regional channel, saying that Peach Blossom Base would send a team to investigate.

”Mm, go and take a look. They’re so close to us, we at least need to get a clear picture of their strength,” Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly. ”As you’re leaving the Seventh-level Wind Sea Region, first check if there are any other survivors on the sea.”

”Alright!” Qin Haonan nodded.

Just then, Lu Jiamei, who was standing nearby, suddenly spoke up. ”Chief, let me go with Haonan! I can see farther than most!”

Ren Yuanyang was slightly startled, then nodded. ”Mm, you two can go together then. Be extremely careful!”

From eating the evolved crocodile meat before, besides physical enhancement, Lu Jiamei’s eyesight and Xin Wan’s hearing had become extraordinary.

After establishing the base in the Seventh-level Wind Sea Region, these two special abilities had rarely been used. Now that they needed to observe an unknown fleet, Lu Jiamei’s superhuman vision was just what they needed.

”Yes, Chief!” Lu Jiamei answered, then followed Qin Haonan out.

The two of them piloted a speedboat straight to the northeast.

At the same time, large ships from the surrounding waters were all converging on the location of the five large ships, numbering more than twenty in total!

The captains of these large ships had already communicated with each other. They all believed that the five large ships were Peach Blossom Base, so they were preparing to join forces and take it down!

As long as they took down Peach Blossom Base, their twenty-plus large ships would band together and form a mega-base capable of rivaling the Aircraft Carrier Base!

「Two hours later」

Qin Haonan and Lu Jiamei reached the edge of the Seventh-level Wind Sea Region.

”Sister Mei, the coast should be clear, right?” Qin Haonan asked.

”No one’s around. We can go straight out! Let’s circle around first,” Lu Jiamei replied.

”Roger that!” Qin Haonan gunned the speedboat out of the Seventh-level Wind Sea Region and sped off to the side.

They made a wide loop, preparing to approach the five large ships from due north.

Just then, Lu Jiamei suddenly spotted a large ship behind them. She immediately said, ”There’s a large ship behind us! Let’s pull off to the side and hide!”

Hearing this, Qin Haonan was also startled. He immediately did as Lu Jiamei said and veered to the left.

Because Lu Jiamei’s vision was stronger than a normal person’s, and their speedboat was relatively small, she spotted the other ship long before they were noticed.

They successfully evaded the large ship.

”Sister Mei, what’s the deal with this ship?” Qin Haonan was confused. ”Don’t tell me this base has more than five large ships?”

Lu Jiamei shook her head. ”I don’t know either. Let’s follow it from a distance for now.”

”Okay,” Qin Haonan nodded.

But the large ship soon came to a stop, still about twenty kilometers away from the five large ships.

”Why did they stop?” Qin Haonan grew even more confused.

Lu Jiamei pondered for a moment before speaking. ”This large ship isn’t with the other five. It must be waiting here for something.”

”Waiting for what?” Qin Haonan asked curiously.

”Normally, one large ship wouldn’t dare provoke five. For it to approach now, it must have allied with other large ships,” Lu Jiamei speculated.

Qin Haonan immediately understood. ”You mean a lot of large ships are going to team up to take down these five?”

”Perhaps they really do think those five large ships are our Peach Blossom Base,” Lu Jiamei replied, her eyes narrowing.
