Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 192: Chapter 158: A Potential Problem, the Experiment Continues

”Do you need our help?” Wang Jun asked with a frown.

Long Zhan shook his head slightly. ”The Fish Repellers are useless right now. It’s also not worth using a wide-area weapon like a Torpedo to drive away these small fish. The best way to repel them is with an Evolver’s Mental Energy. But the Evolvers on both your sides are probably out of Mental Energy, right?”

Wang Jun and Ji Yizhi both froze for a moment, then nodded helplessly.

Long Zhan was right. To handle the Evolutionary Fish uprising, all their Evolvers had exhausted their Mental Energy.

”If you need logistical support, just say the word. After all, we’ve already taken care of things on our end,” Ji Yizhi added. ”If you still haven’t dealt with those schools of Evolutionary Fish in two hours, our Evolvers should be mostly recovered by then!”

”Understood. I’ll let you know if I need anything,” Long Zhan said with a nod.

Four hours later, the two parties to the trade arrived at the designated location.

Dawn Base provided the second half of the experimental data, which included the experiment’s conclusions, proving that Jing Shu had not lied to them.

After confirmation, the specialist assigned by Ji Yizhi reported, ”Captain, there are no issues with the experimental data!”

”Then let’s complete the trade,” Ji Yizhi replied, sending a message to Jing Shu at the same time. ”The data is fine. We will place the food you requested on a boat. Please arrange for your people to transport it.”

”Understood, one moment,” Jing Shu replied, immediately arranging for the personnel at the front to move the food supplies.

Only after receiving a report from his personnel that the food had been fully transported did Jing Shu send over the remaining half of the experimental data.

”Excellent. The transaction is complete. It was a pleasure working with you,” Ji Yizhi messaged Jing Shu.

”A pleasure working with you, too! If you really manage to develop the Evolution Potion, don’t forget to make it available for us to purchase,” Jing Shu replied.

”Of course,” Ji Yizhi agreed.

After ending the call, Ji Yizhi immediately shared the newly acquired experimental data with Wang Jun.

”Since we have new experimental data to reference, why don’t our research teams from both sides collaborate again? We might be able to develop the Evolution Potion faster that way,” Ji Yizhi suggested.

”Hmm, let’s do it,” Wang Jun agreed with a nod.

Long Zhan hadn’t been modest earlier; the skill level of the researchers in his fleet was genuinely not very high. That was why neither Wang Jun nor Ji Yizhi considered including the researchers from the Liaoyuan carrier fleet.

The research personnel from the Jianfu and Lu Ban carriers gathered once again and began to study the latest experimental data.

”The function of this compound is ingenious! How did they even think of synthesizing something like this?”

”I still feel like there’s a problem here. According to the data, these compounds simply shut down some of the body’s self-preservation responses. They don’t actually mitigate the harshness of the Evolution Potion at all. It just makes the person feel better, relying on the body’s post-evolution self-healing capabilities to repair the damage later.”

”Either way, it’s a research direction. We can give it a try.”

The researchers began poring over the experimental data, discussing it amongst themselves.

Meanwhile, Lin Mu hurried to the container that served as the entrance to the core area.

”Minister Xin, some of the licorice the Leader had me plant is ready for harvest. Should I harvest it immediately?” Lin Mu asked.

Xin Wan spent most of her time at the container. This way, people could find her directly when they needed to request supplies. She also served as Ren Yuanyang’s secretary, acting as his messenger.

”Yes, it should be. I’ll notify the Leader right now!” Xin Wan knew how desperate Ren Yuanyang was for the Evolution Potion, so she immediately took out her phone to contact him.

Upon receiving Xin Wan’s message, Ren Yuanyang came out at once with Hua Lingfang.

”Let’s go, we’ll go take a look,” Ren Yuanyang said, calling Lin Mu over as they hurried west.

They soon arrived at the licorice cultivation space. Lin Mu carefully pushed aside the Duckweed, revealing the thick roots of the licorice plant before them.

Hua Lingfang took a close look and nodded slightly. ”It’s definitely ready for harvest.”

”Then let’s get started. Harvest a little from each of these three licorice plants,” Ren Yuanyang ordered.

”Right away!” Hua Lingfang immediately took out his tools and began harvesting the licorice.

Lin Mu watched Hua Lingfang’s movements from the side, a little worried that this harvest might cause all the licorice plants to die.

But his worries were soon put to rest. Hua Lingfang harvested the roots in a way that didn’t affect the licorice’s normal growth at all. This mindset of sustainable development had long been ingrained in the working people of the Dragon Country.

”Leader, it’s done. We can continue the experiment!” Hua Lingfang said with some excitement.

Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly. ”Let’s go. We’ll start now.”

Seeing how excited Ren Yuanyang and Hua Lingfang were, Lin Mu grew even more curious about what formula they were testing.

But Ren Yuanyang remained tight-lipped, and Lin Mu was tactful enough not to press the issue.

Watching the two of them hurry away, Lin Mu could only shake his head helplessly. He tended to the licorice for a moment before heading toward the other cultivation spaces.

Ren Yuanyang and Hua Lingfang hurried back to the lab and immediately began their experiment.

”This is all fresh licorice. Shouldn’t we process it before we can use it?” Ren Yuanyang asked, looking at the licorice in his hands.

While dividing the licorice into several portions, Hua Lingfang replied, ”Fresh licorice is also effective. Different processing methods result in slightly different medicinal properties. I plan to test the fresh licorice first, then process some later. Oh, right, the more common baked licorice is processed with refined honey. Coincidentally, we have Wang Feng. We’ll need to ask him for some honey.”
