Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 188: Chapter 156: Fish Riot, Minor Impact

”Your confidence is a little baffling!” Ji Yizhi frowned.

Long Zhan laughed. ”I’m just going with my gut. Don’t you guys try to copy me!”

”Don’t get jealous when we get our hands on that research data!” Ji Yizhi scoffed.

”I won’t be jealous. I know the research capabilities of our Liaoyuan carrier fleet are limited. We’ll have to buy the Purification Potions from you or other factions in the end anyway,” Long Zhan said, shaking his head.

”Fine. Since you’ve made your decision, I won’t try to persuade you any further.” Ji Yizhi nodded slightly.

Although Wang Jun didn’t state his position explicitly, he strongly agreed with Ji Yizhi’s proposal to prepare for both outcomes and would naturally join him in purchasing the data from Dawn Base.

Just then, the three captains received reports from their subordinates at almost the same time.

”Captain, we’ve spotted an evolved whale shark! It’s eating the crops we’re growing on the ocean’s surface!”

Wang Jun’s brow furrowed slightly. ”Aren’t our Fish Repellers on?”

”They’re on and turned up to maximum power, but our Fish Repellers have no effect on it!”

The three men immediately ended their video call and prepared to check out the situation on-site.

Wang Jun hurried after a soldier, rushing toward the location where the whale shark had been spotted.

BAM!

CRACK!

Before Wang Jun even reached the spot, a massive tail whipped out of the water, smashing a nearby raft in half.

The survivor on the raft was crushed flat, blood spraying everywhere!

’Aren’t whale sharks supposed to be gentle?’ Wang Jun didn’t have time to dwell on the question. He ordered, ”Evacuate everyone immediately! Get them away from this whale shark!”

”Yes, sir!”

At the same time, the other two aircraft carrier fleets were encountering the same problem.

The normally docile whale sharks had become extremely aggressive after evolving.

”Captain, it seems other survivors are also being attacked by highly aggressive sea creatures. The regional channel has completely blown up!” another soldier reported, running over in a hurry.

Wang Jun froze for a moment. After arranging for the evacuation and the forceful expulsion of the whale shark, he immediately opened his phone.

”Damn it, what’s going on? Have all the fish gone crazy?”

”They’re about to chew a hole right through my little wooden boat!”

”My bamboo raft is falling apart! I can’t stop them!”

”From the looks of it, only metal boats can withstand this. Boats made of any other material are in serious danger!”

”My paddle boat seems to be holding up!”

”Paddle boats are usually made of fiberglass, technically fiber-reinforced plastic. It’s pretty strong!”

”Now’s not the time to discuss materials! What the hell is going on with these creatures in the water?”

”The fish attacking us must all be Evolutionary Fish. Their attack power is just too strong!”

”Did their personalities completely change after they evolved?”

”Who the hell knows? This feels like another culling, meant to wipe out another batch of survivors!”

”Thank God I joined an Aircraft Carrier Base early on. Otherwise, I’d be dead for sure. My boat has been completely destroyed by those Evolutionary Fish!”

”Damn it, if I’d known, I would have joined an Aircraft Carrier Base too! It’s too late now!”

”Bro, don’t give up! If you get moving now, you still have a chance!”

”What damn chance do I have? No matter how fast I row, I’m not faster than those fish!”

”Maybe getting in the water now and fighting off the Evolutionary Fish is your only chance!”

”Yeah, even if the bases were willing to rescue you, it would take time. Besides, with fuel so scarce, they won’t just send out a team.”

”You can only rely on yourself now!”

Seeing this, Wang Jun posted a message: ”The Aircraft Carrier Bases are also under attack by an evolved whale shark. Even the Fish Repellers aren’t working. We don’t have a good way to drive it off right now. Everyone will have to do their best to save themselves!”

Seeing Wang Jun’s message, the survivors lost all hope.

”Sounds like the Aircraft Carrier Bases have their hands full. Don’t count on any other bases for help!”

”Good news! Evolvers have a chance to repel the Evolutionary Fish! I just used my Water-Type Superpower to easily drive off the one attacking me!”

”How the hell is that good news? How many Evolvers are there among us survivors?”

”Yeah, even the Aircraft Carrier Bases probably don’t have many Evolvers!”

”Even if they do have Evolvers, I bet only Water-Types and Gold-Types would be effective!”

”Not necessarily. An Evolver’s Mental Energy is pretty strong. You could try using Mental Energy to drive the fish away!”

”Are you kidding me? The Aircraft Carrier Base’s Fish Repellers can’t drive away those evolved fish. What good is a little bit of Mental Energy from an Evolver?”

”I’m not kidding you! I’m a Fire-Type Evolver, and I just used my Mental Energy to drive away the fish attacking my boat. And it worked!”

”Holy shit, a pro! When will I ever become an Evolver?”

”Don’t even think about that right now. Just focus on getting through this crisis first!”

Seeing this discussion, Wang Jun immediately summoned the Evolvers on the base. Although there were only nine of them, and he didn’t know if they could drive away the enormous whale shark, they had to at least try.

The nine Evolvers all focused their Mental Energy at once, directing it as a crushing force toward the whale shark!

Disturbed by the Mental Energy, the whale shark instantly became frenzied and began to struggle violently!

Fortunately, everyone nearby had already been evacuated. As for the floating cultivation facilities, they were completely destroyed.

Soon, the nine Evolvers’ faces turned pale. As the whale shark thrashed violently once more, they all grunted in pain and collapsed to the ground!
