Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor

Island SurvivalBesides these, Lin Feng also found a patch of coconut trees.

Lin Feng eventually decided to settle near the coconut trees, though certainly not on the beach.

He hadn’t yet figured out the tide patterns here, so it was best to find a higher spot.

Behind the coconut grove was a high ground where Lin Feng could temporarily reside.

After packing all his belongings, Lin Feng climbed up.

Once he found a place to stay, the next step was to find food, and those coconuts became the best choice.

Encountering coconut trees while surviving on a deserted island was truly fortunate; Lin Feng stood on high ground and roughly counted over ten coconut trees.

This solved the problems of food and water for the short term.

However, long-term consumption of coconuts was definitely not feasible; he needed to find other things to eat.

Lin Feng walked into the interior of the small island, where there was a forest with many birds, but he hadn’t yet discovered other creatures.

“Holy crap, my luck is so good.”

After walking a few steps, Lin Feng discovered a reddish stone. If he was lucky, smashing this stone could yield a sharp stone knife.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Lin Feng decisively picked up the reddish stone and slammed it against another stone several times. Soon, the stone shattered into pieces.

Lin Feng then selected a seemingly sharp piece from it to use as his tool.

He had two purposes for coming into the forest: one was to find a stick to hook down coconuts, and the other was to find some dry grass and firewood to start a fire.

Lin Feng, with his wilderness survival skills, had over ten ways to start a fire in his mind.

The glass bottle he had previously acquired could be used as a magnifying glass to start a fire.

This was also the most convenient method.

Taking advantage of the scorching sun, Lin Feng had to act quickly.

In the wild, not having a campfire at night could be deadly.

Soon, Lin Feng found a slender sapling, smashed it with the stone knife for a few minutes, and then successfully broke it off.

A wooden stick about four or five meters long was now in his hand.

After transporting the stick back to his camp, Lin Feng also found some drier wood and grass in the forest.

It took Lin Feng nearly two more hours to bring all these items back to camp, but he still had more than half of his stamina remaining.

After a short rest, Lin Feng took the stick and went to the coconut trees.

They say you shouldn’t stand under a coconut tree when it’s windy, and now Lin Feng knew why.

He had almost been hit just now.

However, this also indicated that getting these coconuts down wouldn’t be difficult.

After knocking down five coconuts in a row, Lin Feng sat on the soft sand, happily drinking coconut water.

After bringing these coconuts back to camp, Lin Feng began preparing to start a fire. It should have been around one or two in the afternoon, the hottest time of the day.

After placing a nail with its pointed end down into the glass bottle, Lin Feng tilted the bottle and began shaking it up and down.

He did this to get the thicker part of the bottom of the glass bottle.

This part would be perfect for use as a convex lens.

After about ten minutes, with a ’pop,’ Lin Feng obtained a circular convex lens. Under his control, the bottle bottom was cut very neatly.

After arranging the dry grass, Lin Feng successfully focused the sunlight and tested the temperature with his hand.

“Ow!”

Soon, a burning pain came from the back of his hand.

Not bad.

A few minutes later, Lin Feng successfully ignited the dry grass. Looking at the constantly smoking clump of dry grass, Lin Feng quickly picked it up and blew on it a few times.

Soon, the flames ignited.

After laughing up at the sky a few times, he quickly added some dry twigs to the flames to help them burn.

Once the fire grew larger, Lin Feng added thicker pieces of wood.

Now, he had a campfire, and food and water were temporarily resolved. Lin Feng could rely on coconuts for a day or two.

His shelter was somewhat rudimentary, but Lin Feng would definitely improve it later.

Now he had to go to the beach to turn over stones and look for seafood. Eating only coconuts would not provide enough energy for his daily consumption.

After placing a few pieces of wood in the campfire, Lin Feng sharpened a wooden stick with his stone knife, then ran towards the distant reef. According to his experience, there should be a large number of crabs, shellfish, and so on there.

If he was lucky, he might even catch a fish.

Just as Lin Feng expected, there were many conchs on the rocks here. Although they were small and had little meat, even a fly’s leg is meat.

Gathered together, it was quite a lot.

Picking up enough for one meal.

.....

Two hours later, Lin Feng had collected dozens of conchs and even caught two small crabs from the cracks in the rocks. There were also some fish here, but Lin Feng couldn’t catch them at all.

However, Lin Feng had already decided to set up a few small fishing traps here.

Upon returning to camp, Lin Feng quickly added a few pieces of wood to the campfire.

“Good thing I came back in time, otherwise I’d have to start a fire again.”

Lin Feng looked at the rekindled campfire and sighed in relief. He then took out his stone knife and cut four plastic water bottles, placing conch meat and stones inside each, then inserting the bottle necks.

Four simple fishing traps were successfully made.

Although they could only catch small fish, there weren’t any large fish on the reef flat anyway.

After setting up the traps, Lin Feng happily returned to camp, simultaneously planning his schedule for tomorrow.

It was already evening, and he didn’t know if there were other wild animals on this island, so it was best not to go out exploring.

Tomorrow, he definitely needed to go out and find fresh water.

Although coconuts could quench thirst, drinking too much would cause diarrhea.

Dehydration at that point would be disastrous.

After eating two more coconuts, Lin Feng put all the conchs and small crabs he had collected into a coconut shell and boiled a seafood meal with coconut water.

The taste was mediocre, but after eating it, it at least gave his stomach something to do.

.......

After a night passed, Lin Feng rubbed his head and woke up.

He had slept very poorly last night, having to get up in the middle of the night to add firewood. Fortunately, there were no mosquitoes bothering him.

Watching the sun slowly rise from the horizon, Lin Feng smiled; the scenery was quite nice.

Today’s plan: check the traps, find water, and make himself a bed.

Last night, Lin Feng had slept directly on the rocks, and he woke up this morning with aches all over his body.

After opening and finishing the last coconut, Lin Feng picked up the long wooden stick and, while the wind was still cool, went to hook down several more coconuts.

After transporting them all back to camp, Lin Feng went to the place where he had set up the traps yesterday.

All four traps had catches, totaling 6 small fish. Breakfast was secured.

Just as Lin Feng was about to leave, a glimpse from the corner of his eye suddenly revealed a dark mass.

He scooped it up and saw it was a creature similar to a sea cucumber.

Pfft~~

“Ew~ What is this thing!?”

Lin Feng looked at the sea-cucumber-like creature in his hand, which spat out a pile of white liquid, and felt a wave of disgust.

This should be its weapon for defending against predators, similar to an octopus squirting ink.

“It shouldn’t be poisonous. I’ll take it back and figure out how to eat it.”

Despite his disgust, this thing had a lot of meat; one of them was worth all six fish Lin Feng had caught.
