After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1944: Chapter 1948: I’m Sorry

On the other side of the world, it’s already morning.

Xu Xia had gotten up early. In fact, she hadn’t slept much the night before, with Leng Zimo and Luo Xiaoqian’s situation weighing on her mind, how could she sleep?

”Auntie!” Luo Jun came out of the bathroom holding a toothbrush. ”Last night I called Dad.”

”Is that so?” Xu Xia tried to keep her tone light as she raised the corners of her lips, not wanting to burden the little guy too much at such a young age. ”What did Dad say?”

”Dad said he’s already very close to Mom. He also said for me to go to Grandpa’s house first, and when the time comes, he’ll bring Mom to find me,” Luo Jun replied.

”So, Dad will soon rescue Mom,” Xu Xia bent down, smiling as she stroked his little face. ”If that’s the case, Mo Mo won’t have to worry. Go wash up, and we’ll return to Beijing together later.”

As Luo Jun turned back to his room to continue getting ready, Xu Xia’s phone began to ring. She hurried over to answer it, ”Lan Zi?”

As soon as the call connected, Lan Zi’s voice anxiously sounded, ”My dear lady, when are you coming back? Weren’t we supposed to meet at the airport?”

The original plan was for Xu Xia to return to Beijing immediately after attending Luo Xiaoqian’s wedding and meet Lan Zi at the airport, then head abroad to Europe for filming the new album’s MTV. As it turned out, Lan Zi and the others had already arrived at the airport, but Xu Xia, the main person, was nowhere to be seen. Surely Lan Zi was anxious!

”I’m sorry, Sister Lanzi, I’m still in Qingdao now.” Xu Xia glanced toward the bathroom and stepped onto the balcony before continuing, ”Something came up with Xiao Qian, and I’m temporarily delayed.”

”What happened?” Lan Zi, detecting something wrong in her tone, asked worriedly.

”Xiao Qian...she was taken away!” Xu Xia answered in a low voice.

”What?!” Lan Zi was taken aback as well.

The wedding between Leng Zimo and Luo Xiaoqian only invited friends and some relatives, and no media was informed, so there was no news outside. Although Lan Zi was aware of the wedding, she didn’t know about the mishaps at the event.

Xu Xia hadn’t been in touch with her while looking after Luo Jun.

”Zimo and Zirui aren’t here, and I was taking care of Luo Jun last night, so I didn’t have time to call and notify you,” Xu Xia explained apologetically. ”Lan Zi, I’m sorry!”

Lan Zi sighed on the other end of the line and couldn’t help but lament how a perfectly good wedding turned out like this. ”When will you return to Beijing?”

”Everything is packed, and I’ll be boarding the plane soon, probably in about three hours,” Xu Xia replied.

”Alright then, I’ll help you reschedule your flight, and leave Xiao Gao at the airport to wait for you. I’ll take the other staff to Milan first,” Lan Zi advised soothingly over the phone. ”I know you’re worried about Xiao Qian, but staying won’t solve the problem, and the work really can’t be postponed any longer.”

”I understand. I’ll go to Milan with Xiao Gao,” Xu Xia said.

Although she shouldn’t leave at this time, these arrangements were made earlier, and all the hotel and staff schedules were already set. She couldn’t change them recklessly due to her circumstances, or it would cause significant loss to the company.
