After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1933: Chapter 1937: This Is a Prison

The Duke of Kent looked at Jiao Yang with a solemn expression, his tone dripping with sarcasm, ”Are you asking me for a favor?”

Taking a step back, Jiao Yang straightened his wrinkled shirt and spoke earnestly, ”I...”

”Yang Yang!” Jiao Yalin hurriedly ran down the stairs, ”Don’t...”

”I beg you, help me save Luo Xiaoqian. As repayment, you may ask me to do anything.” Ignoring his mother’s dissuasion, Jiao Yang addressed the Duke of Kent with a polite and respectful tone.

”Hmph!” The Duke of Kent snorted coldly through his nose, ”Do you think that will make me agree? The fact that a woman can make you act like this proves her influence over you. Today, you ask me to save her; tomorrow, you might disregard the family’s and company’s interests for her. Such a woman deserves to die; I won’t help you.”

”Family? Company?!” Jiao Yang sneered, ”That’s all you ever care about. I truly feel sorry for you.”

He turned and strode upstairs.

”Yang Yang.” Jiao Yalin watched Jiao Yang’s retreating figure up the stairs, sighed, and turned to go to her own room.

”Stop!” The Duke of Kent spoke beside her, ”Let me remind you once more...”

”I don’t need your reminders.” Jiao Yalin turned her face, looking at her husband from the stairs, ”I won’t let him go, but not for your family or your business. It’s because he’s my son, and I don’t want anything to happen to him. Once Luo Xiaoqian’s issue is resolved, I’ll do whatever it takes to get him out of this cold prison.”

Prison?!

The Duke of Kent furrowed his brows, ”You...call this a prison?!”

”No freedom, no warmth, no affection...what else would you call it if not a prison?!” Jiao Yalin’s lips curled into a bitter smile, ”I’m grateful for Yang Yang’s betrayal and departure back then. Otherwise, I’d truly worry he’d become a second you.”

”He’s my son, he should naturally be a second me!” The Duke of Kent argued.

”No, he’s my son, not yours.” Jiao Yalin turned and quickly went upstairs.

In his room, Jiao Yang lay on his pillow, turning restlessly, unable to sleep.

Suddenly, he threw off his covers, striding swiftly to the balcony. Below, two bodyguards, hearing the noise, turned and seeing Jiao Yang, hurriedly extinguished their cigarettes and bowed respectfully to him.

With what had happened before, the Duke of Kent had meticulously planned, leaving no opportunity for him to escape.

...

...

Mediterranean Sea, Roman waters.

After several hours of sailing, the yacht finally docked at a small island.

Luo Xiaoqian was carefully carried off the yacht by a few men. She had regained consciousness, but at this moment, there was little difference between her being awake and unconscious.

Her eyes wide open, staring at the night sky, she let the men carry her off the ship without uttering a word, not even moving her eyes.

”Sissi, you see, this is the island I mentioned. Isn’t it beautiful? In the morning, you can walk by the sea, sunbathe at noon, swim if you like, and in the evening, watch the sunset by the sea...”

Luo Ke supported her arm, bending down to murmur softly, but received no response from her.

Luo Xiaoqian was carried into the living room, then upstairs to the splendid and spacious bedroom with an ocean view prepared by Luo Ke. He personally laid her on the soft bed, and she made no resistance.
