After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1918: Chapter 1922: Either I Carry You

”So... is that person dead?!”

”From our investigation, we’ve heard that the person was shot and taken away from the hotel by their companions for rescue. We are currently trying to contact them, as we cannot determine which hospital they are in...”

Luo Ke slightly furrowed his brow, ”That person is an acquaintance of mine. If there is any progress in the case, please notify me, Chief Inspector.”

”Alright, as soon as we find him, I’ll call you immediately.”

Hanging up the phone, Luo Ke lightly tapped his fingers on the tabletop.

After a brief contemplation, he stood up from his chair and strode out of the room.

Glancing at Luo Xiaoqian’s room diagonally opposite, Luo Ke headed straight downstairs to the living room.

In the living room, the butler and his subordinates were still awake. Seeing him come downstairs, they immediately greeted him respectfully.

”Prepare the car, I’m taking Sissi to the island.” Luo Ke instructed.

”Yes!” The few people responded immediately.

Luo Ke turned and went upstairs, inserted the key he was holding into the lock.

Inside the room, hearing the door opening, Luo Xiaoqian quickly slipped a note into her underclothes, nervously sitting up straight.

The door opened, and Luo Ke’s figure appeared in her view.

Luo Xiaoqian looked at him anxiously, unsure of his intentions for appearing suddenly at night.

Luo Ke stepped inside, watching him approach step by step. Luo Xiaoqian immediately jumped off the bed barefoot, grabbing the antique desk lamp left on the table.

Luo Ke went straight to the wardrobe, took out a coat, and walked toward her.

Luo Xiaoqian instinctively clutched the lamp and retreated. The lamp’s wire could only stretch so far, pulled from the socket, the light went out, plunging the room into darkness.

”Don’t worry, Sissi, I just want to take you to a different place to stay.” Luo Ke reached out, grabbing the lamp from her hand, and handed her the coat, ”Put on the coat, it’s cooler outside.”

He’s taking her away?!

”Where to?” Luo Xiaoqian asked, gripping the lamp.

Throwing the coat over her shoulders, Luo Ke looked at her past the lamp, ”You’ll know when you get there.”

”I don’t want to go.”

”Why?!”

”Because I’m very tired and need rest.” Luo Xiaoqian casually found an excuse.

Leng Zimo is planning to rescue her; if she moves again, he would have to re-plan, and she certainly doesn’t want to leave.

”Sir, the car is ready.”

Outside the door, the butler’s voice came.

”Understood.” Luo Ke responded indifferently, yet his gaze remained fixed on Luo Xiaoqian’s face. ”Either you go downstairs yourself, or I carry you down. Which do you choose?!”

With a resentful glance at him, Luo Xiaoqian knew she couldn’t outdo him, and immediately shoved the lamp into his arms, turned around, put on her shoes, pulled her coat tighter, and walked out the door.

The watch was still with Leng Zimo; even if he took her away, it was unlikely she could escape his sight. Zimo would certainly find a way to rescue her; now she couldn’t confront Luo Ke, otherwise, if he truly went mad and lost control, she really wouldn’t know what he might do.

For now, she would have to temporarily pretend to comply until Leng Zimo came to rescue her. She had to protect herself well, protect Xiao Xiao, and maintain her dignity. Following behind Luo Xiaoqian downstairs, out the hall door, she got into the already-prepared car outside, and Luo Ke immediately gave the order.

”To the pier.”
