After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1695: Chapter 1699: This Matter Must Be Kept Absolutely Secret

”I have something important to discuss with you in person,” Leng Zimo’s voice was solemn on the other end of the phone. ”When do you have time?”

”How about noon?” Jiao Yang asked.

”That’s fine, but you need to be extra careful. This matter must remain absolutely confidential,” said Leng Zimo.

”What’s going on?”

From his tone, Jiao Yang sensed something unusual.

”Let’s talk in detail when we meet. I’ll send you an address shortly. Drive there alone, and be careful not to be followed!”

”Alright.”

After hanging up, Jiao Yang immediately got to work, quickly handling all the tasks that needed to be completed today. At 10:30, Leng Zimo indeed sent a text message with the specific address.

At 11:00, Jiao Yang made some simple arrangements for the necessary work and then left the office.

With Leng Zimo’s reminder in mind, he was extra cautious as he went downstairs to the parking lot. He walked to his car and carefully checked it over before opening the door and getting in, driving out of the parking lot.

On the road, he kept checking the rear-view mirror and indeed noticed a black car lingering far behind him.

Jiao Yang tapped his fingers on the steering wheel and stepped on the gas pedal, soon losing that car.

Following Leng Zimo’s address, he arrived smoothly at Panlong Guild Hall. As soon as he entered the hall, Ah Jiu came forward to take him to a room upstairs.

Inside the room, Leng Zimo was already waiting for him.

Jiao Yang walked over and sat on the chair opposite him, ”What exactly is going on?”

Leng Zimo pushed a photo in front of him, ”You should recognize this person, right?”

Jiao Yang took the photo from the table; it was a picture of Luo Ke. ”This is... Luo Ke. Gaudi?!”

”That’s him. I have reliable information that he wants to capture you.”

”Capture me?” Jiao Yang frowned, ”We don’t seem to have any grievances, so why would he want to capture me?”

Leng Zimo sighed, ”Because you’re Xiao Qian’s weakness.”

”Xiao Qian?!” Jiao Yang’s brows furrowed further, ”Does he have a grudge with Xiao Qian?”

”He wants to take Xiao Qian away.” Leng Zimo raised his hand slightly, ”Ah Jiu, you’ve met him. From today on, let him protect you. Until we catch Luo Ke, he will ensure your safety. He’s very dangerous, hopefully you won’t refuse.”

Jiao Yang looked up at Ah Jiu and Cheang Xiao standing behind him, then at the photo in his hand.

He wasn’t familiar with Luo Ke, but during the opening ceremony of the film festival before, Jiao Yang had seen Luo Ke.

At that time, he felt something odd in the way this man looked at Luo Xiaoqian. After all, Xiao Qian is so outstanding, Jiao Yang didn’t think much of it. Now, with Leng Zimo’s reminder, it’s not hard for him to recall these details.

”Are you sure, he wants to capture me?”

”Sure!”

Leng Zimo nodded emphatically.

”In that case, why don’t...” Jiao Yang raised the corner of his lips, ”the two of us play along with him!”

Leng Zimo immediately refused, ”No.”

He understood Jiao Yang’s thoughts, but this matter was too dangerous; he couldn’t let Jiao Yang get involved any further. If something happened to him, not only would he not be at ease, but Luo Xiaoqian would probably live with guilt for the rest of her life.

”Protecting me like this will only alert him, and then he’ll directly try to attack Luo Xiaoqian. Wouldn’t that be even more dangerous?” Jiao Yang tossed the photo onto the table, ”If you truly love Xiao Qian, don’t reject my proposal!”
