After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1657: Chapter 1661: If That’s Not Love, Then What Is?

Leng Zirui glanced at the water cup in front of him, ”You drink it, I’m not thirsty!”

”Your lips are even drier than mine, aren’t they?” Xu Xia frowned, ”I’ll pour myself another glass after you drink it.”

Leng Zirui stuck out his tongue to lick his dry lips, and with a bit of helplessness, he pulled up the corners of his mouth, ”Darling, it’s not that I’m not taking your gesture to heart, but I really can’t drink right now. After surgery, you can’t drink water immediately. If it causes vomiting and accidentally enters the airway, then your husband would really be a goner!”

He pretended to be thirsty just to get her to drink some water.

Upon hearing this, Xu Xia quickly moved the cup away.

”I’m sorry, I... I didn’t know!”

”I even thought you were trying to murder your own husband!” Leng Zirui gently patted the back of her hand with his fingertip, ”The police must have arrived, right? Have some water and let them buy you something to eat, be good!”

”I’m not hungry, just some water will do!” Xu Xia brought the cup to her lips and drank the water in a few gulps, feeling heartache as she looked at his chapped lips, ”I’ll go find a cotton swab to moisten your lips.”

”No need!” Leng Zirui tightened his grip on her hand, ”Don’t run around, stay here with me a while.”

Although he already guessed there would be police outside, he was still a bit worried about her, naturally unwilling to let her out of his sight.

Xu Xia frowned, ”But, your lips are so dry...”

Seeing her expression, Leng Zirui playfully curled his lips, looking at her suggestively, ”How about you give me some of your moisture then?”

”Keep dreaming!” She rolled her eyes at him.

Leng Zirui chuckled softly, ”Stingy little thing!”

Xu Xia glanced sideways at him, then at the door. Upon returning her gaze to find his eyes scrutinizing her, she pursed her lips mockingly, lifting her palm to cover his eyes, then leaned closer to moisten his dry lips with the tip of her tongue.

Her lips lightly brushed over his, bringing a tingling sensation with each touch.

At first, Leng Zirui remained composed, but he soon found it hard to contain himself, involuntarily parting his lips to kiss her.

Xu Xia froze in place, hesitating whether to pull away.

He just had surgery, is this okay?!

Leng Zirui’s hand had already lifted to hold the back of her head, pulling her closer to him, his tongue boldly invading, pressing through her lips and teeth.

Despite having once scorned Leng Zimo and Luo Xiaoqian for similar behavior, he too had now fallen in love with such intimacy.

Though the position was uncomfortable and the wound on his back ached from being stretched, it was nothing compared to her sweetness.

How long had it been since that night when he last kissed her?!

He couldn’t remember, nor did he care to think about it. He just kissed her again and again, indulging in her softness and beauty.

The door was gently pushed open, and Leng Zimo glanced at the couple in their awkward embrace beside the bed. He promptly retreated, closing the door again.

Until he was nearly out of breath, Leng Zirui reluctantly released her lips, took a breath, and then gave her a light peck, finally feeling content.

His large hand slid down from her hair, cradling her face, ”Xu Xia, I really like you, this time it’s not a joke.”

Xu Xia choked up again, raising her hand to hold his, ”I know!”

Having gone through this life-and-death experience, she naturally understood that he truly meant it.

A man who dared to risk everything for her, what else could that be but love?!
