After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1678: Chapter 1682: You Can’t Drive Me Away No Matter What You Say

”If I roll away and can’t come back, would you be willing to let go?”

”Then hurry up and roll, the farther the better.”

”Fine, I’m rolling away then!”

With that, there was a strange noise on the other end of the phone, and then silence.

Xu Xia listened to the busy tone on the other end, just frowning.

She was just joking; did he really get angry?

This guy, when he bullied her before, was she so petty?

Did she go too far with her words?

He had done so much for her without hesitation, and yet she told him to roll away. Maybe... she did go a bit overboard!

Thinking like this, Xu Xia immediately dialed Leng Zirui’s number.

The phone showed it was busy.

Unwillingly, she hung up and dialed again, still busy.

After calling three or four times, all lines were busy, and Xu Xia started feeling blocked in her heart.

She really was an idiot, turning a perfectly good phone call into this!

Throwing the phone onto the bed, Xu Xia frowned, hugged her knees, and buried her face in her arms.

The phone automatically redialed, and this time, it connected smoothly.

”Hello... sweetheart... honey? ... Xu Xia!...” On the other end, Leng Zirui’s voice quickly shifted from lazy to urgent, ”Why aren’t you speaking?!”

Hearing his voice on the phone, Xu Xia hurriedly lifted her face. Seeing that the call was connected, she immediately grabbed the phone, ”Leng Zirui, I’m sorry, I... I didn’t mean it when I told you to roll away, I was just joking, I...”

”Idiot!” Through the phone, Leng Zirui clearly heard the muffled sobs in her voice and scolded tenderly, ”Silly girl, you really had me worried. I knew you were joking, it was just that Shaochuan’s phone ran out of battery just now!”

Xu Xia sniffled, ”But your phone was continuously busy, and I thought...”

”Thought what, thought I didn’t want to answer your call?!” Leng Zirui laughed lightly on the other end, ”Little Silly, I was just trying to call you. Aren’t girls supposed to be more reserved? Next time, if you want to be cold, let me call you and apologize, that way you’ll feel more important, right?”

Xu Xia was amused by him and started to laugh, ”I don’t want to...”

”Crying one minute and laughing the next like a madwoman, I really don’t know why I like a crazy girl like you!” Leng Zirui pretended to sigh on the other end, ”Ah, one look at Xu Xia is a lifelong mistake, I regret it. I should have let the police arrest you for drunk driving that day.”

”Nonsense, meeting me is the blessing you earned in your past life!”

”Glad you realize that. So, I’m not one to be chased away, go take a shower, have dinner. I’ve already taken time off from my old man so I can stay until I’m fully healed before going back. Remember to save me a VIP seat for your concert, I want to properly watch my wife’s performance, go on, be good!”

Xu Xia obediently hung up the phone, got up to wash her face in the bathroom, and only remembered after splashing her face that she hadn’t asked him anything she wanted to ask.

She hadn’t asked if he was feeling better, if his wound was still painful, if he had eaten, or even if she could go see him.

”Xu Xia, what kind of girlfriend are you?!”

Grabbing a towel to wipe the water off her face, she walked out with a frustrated look.

”Would you like to have dinner in the dining room or in your room?” Chu Fan asked politely.
