After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1683: Chapter 1687: And I Absolutely Am Not Lying

The two of them put down their glasses and each picked up a knife and fork to cut the steak.

Leng Zirui’s cutting skills were naturally excellent. Quickly, he cut the steak into beautiful small pieces and placed it in front of her.

Xu Xia wasn’t shy and took his plate, giving her own to him.

They ate across the table, and Xu Xia swallowed the steak in her mouth, looking up at him.

Everything that had happened in the past two days felt like a dream.

First, it was a nightmare, and then a sweet dream followed.

Looking at Leng Zirui elegantly eating Western food, Xu Xia suddenly felt that the happiness in front of her was somewhat unreal.

Seeing her staring at him in a daze, Leng Zirui stopped his actions, winked at her across the table, ”Do I look charming while eating?!”

”Narcissist!” Xu Xia snapped back to reality, ”Umm... Leng Zirui... Do you... do you really like me?!”

He rolled his eyes at her, ”Fake.”

”I’m the birthday star today, and my word is law; you need to answer my question seriously!”

”Okay, I’ll be serious!” Leng Zirui straightened his face, ”Ask away.”

”When... when did it start?” Xu Xia asked.

”Start what?”

”Liking me?”

This question really stumped Leng Zirui.

When did he start liking her?!

He furrowed his brow slightly, recalling carefully.

Her image naturally flashed through his mind.

The events of five years ago were already blurry, but ever since the night they bumped into each other near the Leng Family Courtyard, he could clearly remember every detail of their encounters, even the words spoken.

Even Leng Zirui was surprised; he hadn’t realized that she had made such a deep impression on him.

Could it be that he started liking her from that night?!

”Why aren’t you saying anything?” Xu Xia asked puzzledly.

Leng Zirui looked up at her, answering honestly, ”Because I don’t know either. Maybe when you first kissed me, my heart was moved!”

Since he was young, when had he ever been serious with a woman?

But with her, he always wanted to banter whenever he saw her.

Back then, he just thought it was fun, but now thinking back, perhaps he had long liked her without even realizing it.

Xu Xia continued to eat, her lips faintly curving upwards, feeling a little secretly happy that he liked her first.

Then, she asked again.

”Then why didn’t you confess to me?”

There was a bit of a complaint in her tone.

Shouldn’t these things be initiated by the man?!

Leng Zirui glanced at her, ”You once said that even if I were the only man left on earth, no one would like you. How could I dare?”

Xu Xia pouted, ”And you also said that if you were the last man on earth, no one would come to me?”

”Who first said they liked me and then said they were just acting?!”

”I... I was just afraid you’d reject me!”

Xu Xia lowered her face, with a hint of apology in her tone.

Seeing her like this, Leng Zirui felt a slight ache in his heart.

Who would have thought that a girl like her could feel insecure because of love?

”Come here!” he gently whispered.

Xu Xia stood up and walked to his side, ”What’s wrong? Is your wound uncomfortable?!”

Raising his hand to pull her over to sit on his lap, Leng Zirui gazed into her eyes, speaking solemnly, ”Xu Xia, now, I want to tell you something seriously. You must remember, there’s no hint of a joke in this, and it’s definitely not a lie.”
