After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1654: Chapter 1658: That’s My Wife

Raising the arm that wasn’t injured to hold her body, Leng Zirui gently stroked her hair, speaking softly.

”Don’t cry, you look really ugly when you cry!”

She sniffled, opened her mouth, and bit his shoulder.

It seemed forceful, but there was no real strength behind it.

His body tasted salty and bitter.

Understanding her feelings at this moment, Leng Zirui just let her bite him, after a while, he teased, ”Well, does it have a manly taste?!”

”It stinks!” she whispered against his neck.

”Even if it stinks, I’m still your man!” he said domineeringly, pulling her even tighter into his embrace.

She could have avoided suffering so much. If she hadn’t tried to escape, she wouldn’t have been hit, nor would her wrists and ankles be marked from being tied up.

He knew why she didn’t listen; she didn’t want to drag him down.

This silly girl cared for him far more than he imagined!

And he felt the same.

When he received the call and learned she was in danger, he finally realized that Xu Xia mattered to him much more than he had imagined.

When he rushed from Beijing to Hong Kong, speeding along the way, he finally understood how Leng Zimo felt when he drove like a madman back then.

Love can truly make a person go crazy!

His feelings for her were inexplicable but deeply passionate.

Fortunately, fortunately!

She was fine, and he was fine too.

The plane quickly returned to Hong Kong, landing in the courtyard of a hospital. A few people swiftly helped Leng Zirui off the plane and toward the emergency room, where a doctor on duty immediately came forward, settling him in a ward. After a simple check, the doctor quickly prepared for emergency surgery.

”She’s my wife. Please remember to treat her wounds and check her overall condition!”

As he was being wheeled into the operating room, Leng Zirui still held onto the doctor, reminding him, afraid that Xu Xia would worry about him. Before the doors closed, he even made a silly face at her.

Due to the loss of blood, his face appeared pale, and the silly face was not funny at all. Always not prone to crying, Xu Xia’s tears flowed once more.

”Don’t worry, everything will be alright!” Leng Zimo took out his handkerchief and handed it to her, ”Ah Jiu, I’ll keep watch here; you two take her for a checkup.”

”I’m fine; I’ll wait for her to come out!” Xu Xia hurriedly replied.

”The surgery will take quite a while, Miss Xu. We can check your condition and still have time to return,” Ah Jiu persuaded, gently holding her arm, guiding her to the doctor for a check.

Watching the tightly closed doors of the operating room, Leng Zimo breathed a sigh of relief, took out his phone, and dialed Luo Xiaoqian’s number.

The phone rang once before it connected, and Luo Xiaoqian’s anxious voice came from the other side.

”Zimo?!”

Leng Zimo wasn’t surprised; he knew she wouldn’t be able to sleep knowing something like this happened.

”We’ve already rescued Xu Xia; we’re at the hospital now. Zirui got shot, but it’s not serious. They’re removing the bullet now,” he briefly informed her of the current situation, ”I might have to spend some more time here before I can come back. Be careful yourself!”

”How are you and Xu Xia? Are you hurt?” Luo Xiaoqian asked immediately, worried.

”I’m fine; Xu Xia has some minor injuries. Ah Jiu took her to get checked out,” Leng Zimo replied, sitting down on the waiting chair, ”There’s still some time till dawn; go rest a bit, I still have to call Dad.”
