After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 839: Chapter 843: Is This Considered a Surprise?!

”When did you start getting so sentimental?” Liu Heng chuckled, ”Speaking of which, during your five years traveling around the world, didn’t you have any beautiful encounters or anything?”

Jiao Yang laughed lightly, ”Of course there were encounters, but no woman wanted to have a child with me.”

”I don’t believe that. If you just waved your hand, those willing to have your child could line up from the airport to the front gate!” Liu Heng teased, then turned serious, ”I’ve booked your hotel for you. What kind of place do you like, an apartment or a villa? I’ll arrange it for you as soon as possible!”

”The villa I bought before is still there. Just take me straight there. Cancel the hotel reservation and save some money for Asia View,” Jiao Yang said flatly.

The car drove into the city. Following Jiao Yang’s directions, the driver took them directly into Riverside Fragrant Mansion. The two of them got out of the car together. Jiao Yang looked up at the long-missed villa, walked up, opened the combination lock, and entered the foyer. He switched on the main electrical panel, and the lights in the hall immediately came on.

”You haven’t eaten yet, right? How about I accompany you to get something to eat?” Liu Heng asked with concern as he placed the suitcase in a corner of the porch, ”I remember you loved Old Beijing hotpot back in the day. How about we go for a pot?”

Jiao Yang shrugged, ”I ate on the plane. It’s getting late, you should head back early.”

”Alright then, I’ll go. You should get some rest. I’ll have the driver come pick you up tomorrow morning?”

”No need. I guess the two cars in the garage should still be usable. If they break down on the way, I’ll give you a call.”

”Okay.” Liu Heng smiled, handing over his business card, ”My number is on it. You can call me anytime. After such a long flight, you must be tired. Get some rest.”

After seeing Liu Heng out and watching his car drive away, Jiao Yang finally walked back inside and closed the door. Casually dragging his suitcase to the living room, he stepped into the kitchen.

The kitchen counter was covered with a thick layer of dust.

He frowned as he opened the refrigerator. The power had just been turned on, and it was just starting to work. Inside was an old open can with green mold and a particularly noticeable small white mushroom.

”Is this supposed to be a surprise?!”

Jiao Yang took the spoiled can from the refrigerator, looked at the little mushroom inside, and instead of throwing it away, placed it on the coffee table in the living room.

He removed the dust cover from the sofa, dragged his suitcase over, and opened it.

Looking at the clothes inside, he directly opened the suitcase’s inner compartment and took out its contents.

A CD and a letter.

The CD was Luo Xiaoqian’s album, with her signature on one corner. Despite the years, her smile was still bright.

The envelope had no postal marks, just a few simple, elegant words: Jiao Yang, for your eyes only.

Holding the envelope gently between his fingers, Jiao Yang carefully took out the letter and unfolded it.

The handwriting on the letter was very neat. Moreover, it was written not only in Chinese but also in English, as if the writer was afraid he wouldn’t understand.

”Jiao Yang:

First of all, I’m sorry. Please forgive my sudden departure. Thank you for everything you did for me, though the words ’thank you’ seem so superficial and inadequate. Sadly, in this life, I can only let you down.

...”

After reading the letter word by word, Jiao Yang looked up at the ceiling.

”Five years, Xiao Qian, where are you?!”
