After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 836: Chapter 840 I Don’t Mind

A villa community separated by a lake.

Luo Xiaoqian walked out of the grass, put her shoes back on, and returned to the front of her villa, only to tragically discover that she couldn’t get in. She had left all her keys and phone with Leng Zimo.

At work, her abilities had long been recognized by clients and colleagues. Negotiating contracts and planning strategies were her forte. But in the presence of Leng Zimo, all of that fell apart.

In front of him, she was still the clumsy, forgetful Luo Xiaoqian.

Turning around, she walked to the side and, looking at the villa across the lake, she found she had no courage to go back and retrieve them.

She glanced at her watch. It was almost three o’clock. She remembered bringing him back at noon. How could it have been more than three hours when it felt like they had just been together for a short while?

Sighing, Luo Xiaoqian walked back to her doorstep and sat on the steps.

Mo Mo would be out of school soon. When John returned, she could get inside. As for her bag and car, she would have John retrieve them. She... she really didn’t have the courage to face him now.

They had just met, and she almost... with him... He... He must think she’s that kind of loose woman, right?

Sitting on the steps, her clothes still damp from his kiss clung to her skin, slightly cool.

She lowered her head, thinking about what had just happened, her face suddenly burning.

Sticking out the tip of her tongue, she gently licked her lips, swollen from his kisses. Her face flushed, but happiness lingered at the corners of her mouth.

She knew he couldn’t truly forget her. Even if he forgot who she was, he would still lose control in front of her, because he was her Zimo.

Hugging her knees tightly, Luo Xiaoqian still held onto the faint scent of him on her body, not wanting it to dissipate.

Thinking about their embrace moments ago, she momentarily lost herself.

A car approached and stopped in front of the house.

Hearing the car come to a stop, Luo Xiaoqian looked up, a smile forming as she stood.

Seeing her own white Land Rover in front of her, the smile froze.

The car door opened, and Leng Zimo stepped out with her car keys in one hand and her handbag in the other.

”Mr. Leng...”

She lowered her head, like a schoolgirl who had done something wrong, staring at her feet, not daring to look at his face.

Leng Zimo stopped in front of her, his gaze sweeping over her head. Noticing her sleeveless chiffon top, he raised an eyebrow and then nonchalantly took off his jacket to drape over her shoulders.

The jacket carried his scent, a faint tobacco aroma like chocolate, along with his body warmth. It was very comforting.

Luo Xiaoqian didn’t refuse, but she still kept her head down.

”Just now... Just now... I...”

”I’m sorry.” Leng Zimo said, looking at the outline of her ear exposed behind her hair, suppressing the urge to pull her into his arms. ”I lost control earlier. I hope you don’t mind.”

”I...” Luo Xiaoqian gently shook her head. ”I don’t mind... No, I mean... I...”

This bastard, is he serious? The way he acted just now, and yet he came looking for her so soon, couldn’t he give her some time to process?

Watching her stammer, Leng Zimo just smiled and then he spoke.

”I like you.”

”Huh?!” Luo Xiaoqian was startled, instinctively looking up at him.

”I’m not the kind of man who casually gets involved with women. You might find it sudden, and even I think it’s a bit unbelievable,” Leng Zimo said, his gaze unwavering on her. ”Maybe it’s love at first sight. In any case, I want you.”

I want you?!
