Chapter 99: Chapter 99 Draw Lots

The bus carried the trainees all the way to Studio One, located on Third Ring Road.

This studio, a subsidiary of Emperor View Group, was the largest indoor performance venue in the Imperial Capital, housing a total of over a dozen studios of various sizes, including the largest indoor studio in the area.

Outside the studio, countless journalists had already gathered, eager to capture firsthand footage, and many trainees waved at them through the windows, but Luo Xiaoqian felt a bit nervous watching those shifting figures.

These past days, she had encountered paparazzi on her tail more than once, and she was genuinely worried about these reporters.

Fortunately, the bus drove straight into the compound, and the journalists were stopped outside by the security.

After disembarking, the trainees were directly taken to Studio Six on the second floor.

This time, for ”Huaxia Idol,” Emperor View had really spared no expense.

Just a regional semifinal had already made use of a medium-sized studio that could accommodate two thousand people.

Inside the studio, the staff were already bustling back and forth, setting up the backdrop, arranging the wires, positioning the cameras...

The stage was spacious, with every kind of musical instrument available. For this competition, the performance accompaniment would be provided by a live band, which was a rarity for typical talent shows.

Lin Luoshi, after receiving a megaphone from an assistant, cleared her throat and stepped onto the risers.

”Everyone listen carefully, starting from today until before the semifinals, we will be rehearsing here. Apart from the nighttime rest periods, no one is allowed to leave without my permission, and no details about the show’s schedule may be disclosed to anyone. Now, please go collect your name badges from the staff, and use them to move in and out of the studio!” Lin Luoshi gestured, and the staff immediately brought over the name badges and a box for drawing lots. ”Now, everyone line up to get your badge and then draw a lot to determine the order in which you’ll perform!”

Each person lined up to get their badge and draw a lot, also receiving a detailed schedule of the program from the staff member.

Xu Xia was in line in front of Luo Xiaoqian. She drew number ten, which was a middle position and considered quite good.

In the competition, the first performer faced the greatest pressure, while the last act was always the one with the highest expectations from the audience.

”What about you?” Xu Xia leaned over to Luo Xiaoqian.

Luo Xiaoqian unfolded her slip of paper to reveal a large ”1” written on it.

”Number 20, huh, Xinyi, you truly are our reigning champion; even fate wants you to close the show!”

”I’m just lucky, that’s all!”

Xu Xia heard Shen Xinyi’s voice on the other side, along with her entourage, and couldn’t help but grind her teeth in frustration.

”Now, everyone quiet down!” Lin Luoshi spoke up again. ”I will announce the show’s performance process. First will be the group performances, for which the working group has made arrangements based on your different situations. Twenty people will be divided into five groups. Everyone, please look at the program list in your hands, which clearly states the specifics; if there are no objections, get ready in a bit, and in half an hour, we will do our first walkthrough!”

”This can’t be right!” Xu Xia glanced at the program list in her hand and immediately let out an unhappy growl. ”Knowing that you’re not good at dancing, they still put you in Shen Xinyi’s group for a dance performance, and afterward, you have to sing immediately. Can you keep up with the physical demands? This is obviously a deliberate attempt to mess with you!”

The program list clearly stated that Xu Xia and four others had a jazz dance performance, while Luo Xiaoqian was arranged to dance POP with Shen Xinyi.
