After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 64: Chapter 64: To Go or Not to Go

Luo Xiaoqian didn’t know how to explain.

All these items were obviously valuable, and she was definitely not rich.

”You’re upset!” Xu Xia nudged her arm, ”I was just joking with you. Those reporters are totally clueless. I know you better than they do, and you’re absolutely not the kind of person who would sell yourself for money. However, these kinds of news stories aren’t a bad thing. Let me tell you, Luo Xiaoqian, those reporters are probably lying in wait for you outside right now. You’ll have to be more careful from now on!”

Luo Xiaoqian nodded gently.

Thinking about yesterday’s events, she suddenly understood.

It turned out that the reporters weren’t after Leng Zimo; they were after her.

Seeing his expression at the time, he seemed to have known all along.

Was he... there specifically to save her?!

No, that’s impossible. How could that man be so kind...

”What are you thinking about? Come on, eat!”

Xu Xia tapped her plate.

Luo Xiaoqian came back to her senses and began to eat hurriedly.

Class, meal, class...

The day passed quickly, and when she and Xu Xia left the rehearsal room, the outside was already brightly lit.

The two of them were walking out of the EM University gate, discussing where to buy a new phone.

Suddenly, someone burst out from near the fountain ahead and started snapping photos of them rapidly.

”What are you doing?!”

Xu Xia, regaining her composure, rushed forward, ready to argue.

The person put down their camera, ignoring her, and instead handed Luo Xiaoqian a business card, ”I’m Song Xiao, a reporter from Entertainment Weekly. Miss Luo, do you have anything to say about last night’s incident?”

”No comment!” Xu Xia pushed him away and pulled Luo Xiaoqian away with her.

The reporter, not willing to give up, chased after them, ”Miss Luo, what do you have to say to those claiming you’re trying to gain fame through publicity stunts...”

Xu Xia quickly stretched out her hand, stopped a taxi, and pulled Luo Xiaoqian inside; only then were the two able to escape.

”These reporters are like flies, so annoying!” Xu Xia continued to complain as she sat in the taxi.

A short while later, the taxi stopped outside a shopping mall. Xu Xia pulled the hood of her sweatshirt over her head and took out a pair of glasses frames from her bag to put on Luo Xiaoqian’s face before nodding in satisfaction. They then got out of the car to buy a phone.

Having spent all her own money, and although there was a credit card in her wallet that could be overdrawn by a million, Luo Xiaoqian only used her own bank card to buy the most basic model of the phone.

The real reason she agreed to Leng Zimo was not because of the money.

Even now, she still wasn’t comfortable spending his money.

After buying the phone, the two girls went to the food court for some late-night snacks before leaving the mall.

Luo Xiaoqian wanted to take the subway home, but Xu Xia had already hailed a car, ”Are you not afraid that people in the train will recognize you?”

Luo Xiaoqian pouted, ”I’m not that famous!”

”Alright, get in the car. You must be tired after a whole day of classes.”

Xu Xia pulled her into the car without further discussion and then gave the driver her home address. Sitting in the taxi ride home, humming the song she practiced that day, Luo Xiaoqian casually pulled out a set of keys and tried to insert them into the lock, but they wouldn’t go in.

Looking at the keys in her hand, she suddenly remembered they weren’t hers and recalled Leng Zimo’s instructions.

Frantically pulling out her own keys to open the door, she hesitated in the living room.

In the end, should she go or not?!

If she didn’t go, he would definitely not let her off.

Go?

Was she really going to clean herself up like those women who sold themselves and present herself to him?
