After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 67: Chapter 67: No One Is Nobler Than Another

Outside the elevator, a girl dressed meticulously and wearing delicate light makeup was engrossed in a mobile game.

Seemingly detecting an unclear odor in the air, she sniffed suspiciously and her gaze settled on Luo Xiaoqian’s face.

A look of contempt flashed across her beautiful big eyes.

Ding!

The elevator doors parted, and she immediately stepped inside.

Noticing that Luo Xiaoqian was also about to enter the lift, the girl suddenly raised her hand, blocking her way, and commanded in a domineering tone,

”You take the next elevator!”

”Why should I?”

Luo Xiaoqian retorted.

”Don’t you think you smell bad?” the girl said mockingly.

Luo Xiaoqian, dressed plainly and carrying a large bag of vegetables and food, was easily mistaken by the girl for a household maid, which naturally gave her tone an air of arrogance.

If the other party had politely indicated that they couldn’t stand the smell of stinky tofu, Luo Xiaoqian might have waited for a while longer; after all, she was in no rush.

But faced with such domineering behavior, how could she possibly give in?

”Who says stinky tofu isn’t allowed in the elevator?”

Raising the hand holding the stinky tofu to make way, she squeezed into the elevator.

The girl, appearing terrified of getting oil on her clothes, merely retreated to one corner with a frown, covering her mouth with her hand and pressing the button for the sixth floor.

Luo Xiaoqian couldn’t be bothered with her and reached out to press the button for the topmost floor, number 19.

The girl’s eyes flickered with surprise upon seeing Luo Xiaoqian press the number 19.

The 19th floor was the top floor.

World City, located in the heart of the city, was worth its weight in gold, and the top floor was the cream of the crop within this wealth.

Each unit on the top floor was unique, a duplex apartment with a jump-level design and a beautiful terrace with a view. It was undoubtedly the most expensive property in World City.

Such a prestigious household employing such an unrefined maid? They must be some new money with no class.

”I truly didn’t expect that such a household would have an uncultured maid like you!”

Luo Xiaoqian glanced at the girl’s legs exposed beneath her ultra-short skirt, ”I also didn’t expect there would be someone keeping an uncultured mistress like you!”

She was merely responding tit-for-tat, yet unknowingly she hit a nerve.

Grinding her teeth, the girl cursed foully and stormed out of the elevator.

Watching the other’s figure disappear outside the lift, Luo Xiaoqian could only lean weakly against the elevator wall.

The girl didn’t retort, which meant her words had struck home.

But what did it matter?

She was in no position to judge anyone; wasn’t she in the same situation, being kept by someone?

Neither she nor the girl was more noble than the other.

With this thought, she angrily raised the bag containing the stinky tofu and took a fierce bite out of a piece.

Before, she would never have touched such a thing.

But now, in order to make Leng Zimo lose interest in her, she couldn’t afford to be choosy.

By the time she reached the 19th floor, Luo Xiaoqian had forced herself to eat a stick of stinky tofu.

Looking at the remaining pieces in the bag, she only frowned.

Now, she must smell bad enough, surely?!

After a moment’s thought, she tossed the rest into a trash can outside the elevator.

When it came to spicy food, she never liked it; she simply couldn’t eat any more.

She took out her key, opened the door, found the switch in the light of the hallway, turned on the light, and gazed in surprise at the overly spacious grand hall before her, its simple yet elegant black and white decor.

This apartment was probably no smaller than the villa she stayed in last night.

In the Capital, in this location, a place this size... just this one apartment would probably be in the eight figures.
