After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 94: Chapter 94 Necklace or Dog Chain

He pursed his lips, stood up, removed a bath towel from the rack, and extended his hand into the hot water. Carefully, he lifted her from the bathtub, sat her on the toilet, and wiped off the droplets of water on her body. Then, he cradled her out of the door, placed her on the pillow, and pulled a thin blanket over her.

Luo Xiaoqian was at that moment lost in dreams with Duke Zhou, completely unaware she had been relocated.

The small lamp by the bed was on, and under its soft glow, her face appeared gentle and serene.

The ribbon around her neck, to which a key was attached, had gotten wet from the water, sticking to her skin, with the key gleaming between her collarbones.

Raising his hand, he untied the ribbon, and Leng Zimo turned to leave. A moment later, he returned to the bedside and hung the key around her neck once more.

This time, however, the ribbon had disappeared, replaced by a necklace with deep blue gems embedded in jet-black, unlike any ordinary necklace, clasped with a tiny, precision-engineered alloy lock.

With slight pressure, Leng Zimo snapped the small lock tightly shut at the ends, then removed the tiny key, holding it tightly in his palm, a smile curling on his lips.

Leaning over, he cupped her face and kissed her forehead before getting up to shower in the bathroom.

...

...

The next day, when Luo Xiaoqian awoke, she found herself alone in the vast bed.

Glancing at the phone by her bedside, she got up, quickly found a set of clothes in the wardrobe to wear, and then stepped out of the room.

After searching through the entire house and confirming he had left, she returned to her room to brush her teeth and wash up.

Humming a tune while squeezing toothpaste, she noticed a flash of silver at her neck in the mirror. Puzzled, she set down her toothbrush and reached to her neck, then pulled a key-hung necklace out from inside her clothes.

The material of the necklace was unknown, but the black chain was studded with tiny sapphires that reflected a dazzling, multicolored brilliance under the lighting, like the stars in the night sky.

Honestly, the necklace was very much to Luo Xiaoqian’s taste.

Of course, that is, except for the key.

”What is this guy up to!” Luo Xiaoqian frowned discontentedly.

A ribbon might have been fine, as at least she could remove it during classes, but this necklace, despite not being able to discern the material, the fine craftsmanship and extraordinary design made it clear it was no ordinary piece.

Such a valuable item, she couldn’t possibly accept it!

Thinking this, she tried to unclasp the necklace, but found that the joint was locked, and she didn’t have the key.

Did this guy think of her as a dog, locking a chain around her neck?!

Outside, her phone started ringing. She rushed out to answer the call.

”Is this Luo Xiaoqian? I’m Ailin. I am honored to inform you that you’ve passed the preliminary round of EM Company. Please arrive at the company before ten o’clock in the morning to prepare for the dress rehearsal!”

Out of the fifty selected, only twenty would advance to the semi-finals, the results of which would depend on the performance of the participants during both the preliminary and semi-final stages.

Leng Zimo had already said he wouldn’t help her; she had earned this all by herself, and naturally, she was thrilled.

”Alright, I’ll be there on time!”

After hanging up, she re-entered the bathroom, facing the mirror. She tried every possible method, even imitating a trick from television for removing jade bracelets by slipping a plastic bag over her head, but still found no way to remove the necklace.
