After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 90: Chapter 90: Do You Dare to Bet?

”What gives you the right to say I can’t sing, is music yours?” Luo Xiaoqian stood up agitatedly from the piano bench, ”Let me tell you, Leng Zimo, just because you’re a big shot doesn’t mean you can boss me around, everyone in this world has the right to sing!”

”Fine then!” Leng Zimo turned and walked towards the door, ”I’ll give you a chance, if you can get through the next round, I’ll make you famous!”

”I don’t need your help, I’ll become famous on my own!” Luo Xiaoqian yelled.

Leng Zimo stopped in his tracks and turned his face to look at her, ”Are you sure?”

”Absolutely sure!” she said.

”Good!” Leng Zimo turned away, ”I’ll be watching!”

”Leng Zimo!” she challenged provocatively, ”Do you dare to make a bet?”

”What’s the bet?” A glint of interest flashed in his eyes.

”If I can become famous without your influence, you give me freedom, and you can’t make things difficult for Xu Xia anymore,” Luo Xiaoqian said.

Challenge her?

She’s got guts!

”And if you lose?” Leng Zimo’s pupils constricted.

”Then...” Luo Xiaoqian pursed her lips, which were still slightly sore, ”Then I’ll be your lover for free, until you get sick of me!”

Leng Zimo stepped closer, his dark eyes fixed on her face.

Despite her assertive demeanor, Luo Xiaoqian, smelling the increasingly close chocolate scent on him, subconsciously took a step back; the piano was behind her, and there was no place to retreat.

”I’ll take that bet,” he raised his hand to pinch her chin, ”but I’ll only give you three months. If within three months, you can secure a spot as a second-tier singer, you win. If you fail, then you’ll stay by my side forever, until you die. Luo Xiaoqian, do you dare to bet?”

Luo Xiaoqian straightened her back, which hurt against the piano, ”I bet!”

Leng Zimo lifted his lips and laughed; it was a cold laugh, ”Luo Xiaoqian, I’m waiting for you to lose!”

”I’m going to win and show you!” she retorted sharply.

He lowered his face and gently kissed her lips, ”You are mine, Luo Xiaoqian, you can’t escape!”

Turning around, he strode out and went upstairs.

Luo Xiaoqian listened until his footsteps had disappeared, then she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

She sat back down on the piano bench and picked up the music score on the stand again.

Although she was reluctant to admit it, she had to acknowledge that this song suited her much better than ”Before It’s Too Late,” especially after he had modified it.

If she wanted to become famous, she had to win this competition.

Just the Beijing Competition Area alone had Shen Xinyi, and Xu Xia said that there were many skilled competitors in the other competition areas as well; winning wouldn’t be easy. She clearly lagged behind in dancing, and to improve her overall ability, she had to be the best in music.

This song was given to her by him before the bet, it didn’t count!

Hmph!

Thinking this to herself, she immediately sat properly and placed her hands back on the piano.

Before she could begin, the doorbell camera rang.

Luo Xiaoqian raised an eyebrow, not expecting the ”Emperor” to answer the door. She stood, checked herself to make sure her clothing was proper and then went to the door, peeking through the peephole to see a young man in a suit standing outside.

”Can I help you?” Luo Xiaoqian asked through the intercom.

”Hello, ma’am, I’m a delivery man from Chinatown. Here’s my work badge. Mr. Leng ordered breakfast, please could you open the door for me?” The young man’s tone was very polite, and his offer of the badge was professional.
